US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Bogota Colombia Embassy Question - CONFUSED	Ok, so my Colombian Fiancee and I were approved on our I-129F VISA on January 22, 2014.  My question is how long until we receive notification from the US Embassy in Colombia for interview package.  It is going on four weeks now and we haven't heard anything.  What is the process now?  We get a BOG****** number to schedule our own interview or is this done by the consulate.  We are so confused because things keep changing.   Any help would be appreciated.   Bob	rtacher	Not Telling	Colombia	2014-02-21 18:04:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Security Checks	No.  We are still waiting for the petition to be approved.  I received my receipt last year and the receipt date is Oct 29,2013.  We are still waiting on that approval.  That is the NSC Vermont has put on hold pending the security checks.    I call weekly and they tell me the same thing.   Bob He/she is right. My fiancés was stuck there about that long too. It is so stressful and upsetting, but you just have to wait it out. They won't issue any visas for her to come here, but you can always go there. I met my fiancé in turkey while this whole thing processed. I know it's not easy but stay strong because it will be worth it. After that everything goes pretty quickly. As long as she has no criminal history everything will be fine. They are running checks on you and her. It shouldn't be too much longer. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Security Checks	My Fiancee and I got our receipt number back on Oct 29th 2012.  It is now going on 11 months since we submitted and no approval yet.  I have spoken the USCIS and gone up to second level on numerous occassions and I am told the application is on a processing hold pending security checks.  Does anyone know what this is and what I can do to shake things loose or find out that status?  The application has been in security checks since May 2013.  This is ridiculous and our wedding dates have come and gone.  I tried to get her here on a tourist visa so we can see each other, but they denied it this morning. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Security Checks - How long?	We submitted a K-1 Fiancee VISA on Oct 29, 2012.  My girlfriend is in Medellin Colombia and it has now been almost 15 months and no word yet.  The Vermont Service Center has been telling us that the process is on hold pending security checks.  This has been the case since May 2013, SEVEN MONTHS.  Has anyone else gone through this and can I do anything about this?  I just want to know why it is taking so long and what the issue is.  We have postponed our wedding a number of times due to this.  We just don't know what else to do.  To top it all off I can't even get to the second level, i.e.  Immigration Officer, anymore.  The people I talk to will not connect me and they are stating they (immigration officers) are too busy to talk to anyone and  we have to deal with them.     Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.  Our government really is unfair sometimes!   Bob	rtacher	Not Telling	Colombia	2014-01-03 23:33:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Additional Administrative Processing after interview-American Embassy in Bogota Colomboa	Ok we had our interview on April 26th of this year at the American Embassy in Bogota, Colombia.  At that time the agent stated that he could not grant the VISA because they needed to perform some additional administrative processing.  I have written the embassy various emails and they state that the case is in administrative processing in Washington DC and they have to make the final decision.  It is going on three months now.  I have written my congressman Marco Rubio and got the same response when they investigated the issue.   We feel lost because we don't know where our application is in Washington.  Who do we call to try and push the status?    I recently wrote a nice letter to the President, but I don't know if that will help.  In August it will be two years since we started the VISA Fiancee process.      Has anyone else had this problem?  Where is Washington do these cases go?  Any suggestions?   Any info would be appreciated.   Bob and Luz	rtacher	Not Telling	Colombia	2014-07-30 11:39:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Finally Approved!	Four months after our interview and countless messages of "Administrative Processing" my Fiancee's VISA has been approved.  YUPIIIIIIIIII !  She took her passport in today to have it messengered back to Bogota Colombia for attaching the VISA pages.  This was a LONG battle.  It took two years.  I wrote letters to congressmen and the President about this.  I don't know if it helped, but something finally shook loose.  Our immigration process is so broken.  It not only needs reform it needs more bodies working it.  The are just so many people to want to come to the land of opportunity:).    Good luck to all on your petitions and be patient as it will come....   Bob	rtacher	Not Telling	Colombia	2014-08-27 14:40:00

I called a few days ago and they told me VSC is behind 30 days...and that i should expect my NOA2 in June...which sucks!!!  I guess nothing is certain with immigration, but i did notice that California seems to be faster. I called USCIS today to find out about my case since it has been over 6 months and still no NOA2, my service center is also Vermont and the officer on the phone told me there is a notice from them saying that they're behind schedule for about 30 days. USCIS Service Centers	is it very slow for Vermont Service Center ?	hello,everybody , I sent my application for 129F 10 days ago, got NOA1 on  May 11   ""Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS Vermont Service Center for processing.""        on their website show  5 month procedures timeline ,  but  right here almost everybody not on time . a lot of people take  6 month , 7 month without  RFE?    I am so worry about it , I hope I can take her to us before april 2014 .  My service center is also Vermont, i called a few days ago since my case has gone over the 6 months and i still haven't received an NOA2. They told me that they are running 30 days behind and that i should expect receiving it by June.   If their time frame is of 5.5-6 months and in my case that came and went and on top of that i am supposed to wait another month, then yeah it's one of the slowest centers at least to me, because i've seen people from CSC getting approved quite fast. (4-5months)   Regardless of what anybody says, i think it's important to fight and defend your petition anyway you can...which means, if you waited your suggested time and still haven't heard any info, do as you need to get some answers...i for example, called my congressman today and im forwarding the proper paperwork to have some extra help, i couldn't hurt to try right?   Good Luck in your journey!!! USCIS Service Centers	Vermont Service Center Delays	Just got off the phone with a rep at the VSC. Apparently they are now just getting to petitions filed in October 2012. My app was received in January. Its frustrating to think that I will have to wait so long now. They had their estimates on the USCIS site as 5 months which is wrong. Just letting you guys know. Good news for you October filers though. Good luck everyone.   Tell me about it...i called USCIS today too and a tier2 told me the same thing. I am a late october filer and i was so hoping to receive my NOA2 by March or April, long story short it's now the end of May and their answer was to wait 25 days more  ...So frustraiting!!! USCIS Service Centers	I'm so depressed :( come on vsc!!	Ali&Amani -- It's been 6 months on my end and the last time I checked the website using my receipt number I was still stuck on Initial Review. I miss my fiancé so much. Our next meeting was supposed to be the day of the interview but because this is taking so very long we decided to fly to St. Lucia to spend some time together. This is getting frustrating. I feel like my life is on hold.   I know exactly how you feel, i hate the fact that there is no stability for us and our future depends on a country, a piece of paper and a decition...its so depressing   Really!?  I've been waiting over 11 months now.  Wanna trade?     OMG!!!.....i could die I am really sorry you have been waiting for so long, i have been waiting for 7 months and i cant take the stress any longer....lets pray our approval comes soon!   I am not surprised forumers from each service center would eventually go after each other, sigh. We should just be supportive of each other, but the way it is set up, it's almost inevitable. I will say that I think one reason CSC is going into overdrive, in addition to clearing the backlog created by DACA, is the impending immigration reform legislation. CSC will be hit the hardest by illegal immigrants cashing in on the amnesty program that will result from that, so perhaps they are clearing things as much as they can now in such anticipation.   We the citizens should have priority over all....it all comes down to dirty politics...always!!!....in the other hand. Regardless of our Service Centers, we are all here for the same reason, granted, we all might have different opinions but bickering about it wont bring any resolution...if you dont agree with what someone is saying its best to scroll down and move on....just my 2 cents...good luck everybody..you are all in my prayers daily   Depressed? I'm a brazilian filer and just found out that Congressman Tim Ryan is trying to ban brazilian immigration. How depressing is this? Not to mention that the bill was approved by voice vote and the final decision comes out in June. Prayers are needed.   I am so sorry to hear that And yet our tax money goes to pay their salaries and to cover the cost of whatever goverment comes out with...not fair! it's really sad to generalize, Brazil is not one brazilian, nor all colombians are drug dealers, neither all venezuelans are like Chavez was...it's bull...plainly dissapointing, buuuut i will write anyways Good luck!!     As of 5/23/2013 at 9pm...VSC has had one approval for the day...if this is your idea of "moving" I want some of your kool-aid....   Man!!!... This post just made my heart sink   this argument is really a waste of time. Complaining on here isn't going to get VSC moving again. both service centers are going to go through cycles... but I for one, having tracked their progress for the past 5 months have to say that despite the processing times at VSC I would not want to switch my petition to CSC. While Vermont is approving random petitions out of order for the most part they have been advancing month by month. At CSC the only reason Dec and Jan filers are approved at the rates they are is because Oct and Nov were skipped and were gotten back to later in an attempt to lower the processing average...they got what they wanted because their "posted" time is now the 5 month goal.  CSC just a month ago was a mess and the only reason it's been put in motion again is because people voiced their frustration. If us VSC filers want to see quicker movement we need to make ourselves heard.
