He should be OK if he makes more than 125% of the poverty level for his household size. However, if his income is borderline, I would suggest trying to use a cosponsor. The U.S. Embassy accepts cosponsors on a case-by-case basis.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI got a visa a month ago but I'm still stuck here, help!

I don't really understand the big issue. If he is active duty Military, in many units he is always subject to deployment.. You need to go on and marry him as soon as you get there and start AOS procedure. If he gets deployed, you could come back, or stay there with his family.. At least it would be done and your AOS would be done. When he got back you could fly back to meet him and would not have to worry about Visa expiring etc.

You don't really have a Visa issue, sounds like you have a fiancee dragging his feet issue.

The OP would be entering the U.S. using her K-1 visa. If she then left the U.S. before she has had her advanced parole, I believe she would not be allowed to reenter the U.S.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiance has no vaccination records
Jimbo...

There's no need to wait until your sweetheart gets to the States to get vaccinated. She will have her medical exam at St. Lukes (SLMEC), She does not need to have her vaccination record when she goes to St. Lukes. St. Lukes will give her the age-appropriate vaccinations. Typically, people get three vaccinations. The vaccinations are included in the price of the medical exam. The medical exam costs about $213.

Then, after you guys get married, you will adjust her status (AOS). One part of the AOS paperwork involves having a civil surgeon transcribe your fiancée's DS-3025 vaccination record from St. Lukes onto another form (I-693?). All the civil surgeon has to do is to transcribe the information, sign the form, seal it in an envelope, and give it back to you so that you can include it in your AOS application.

Not all civil surgeons know the drill. Some of them will tell you that your fiancée will need another physical exam. Some will tell you that she will need more vaccinations. Some will tell you she needs both. Don't pay any attention to this nonsense. Keep looking for a civil surgeon who understands that you only need a simple transcription, We paid about $35 for the transcription. We spent about 15 minutes in the civil surgeon's office.

Best wishes for a smooth and speedy visa journey. :star:

Tahoma,

Try to get the facts straight before you speak so you don't waste everyone's time.

I wrote one sentence about the small aspect of politics that does affect Fiancee Visas (out of the almost 100 sentences I wrote) and you got all bent out of shape and tried to turn it into a political discussion.

I really have no desire to hear from you. You're wasting my time. So like I said, why don't you go away?

I agree...lets get the facts straight:

Fact: You spewed misinformation.
Fact: That garbage has nothing to do fiancée visas.
Fact: It's not appropriate for this forum. It belongs in the P&R subforum.
Fact: Now you're running away from your statement by trying to change the subject.
Fact: You're the only one who can waste your time.
Fact: If you don't like it, you don't have to continue reading it and responding to it.
Fact: Whining about it won't work with me.

I cannot see any reason to prevent law abiding citizens who are good people from being together... while treating violent, criminal or aggressive illegal immigrants as a welcome new U.S. voter base.

Typical Liberal, pretty obvious based on where you live. Funny thing is you were quite helpful until you reared your true self, which ironically came out in politics.

Hey, I can pull magical numbers out of the air too and make baseless statements as others have here.

Pot meet Kettle. Practice what you preach...something that is hard for the liberals.

YOu speak of him posting links for his bizarro claims yet you do the same. Where are your links?

Exactly. Think before you speak..it's hard..but try.

Oh btw:

President Barack Obama
"We are not going to ship back 12 million people, we're not going to do it as a practical matter. We would have to take all our law enforcement that we have available and we would have to use it and put people on buses, and rip families apart, and that's not who we are, that's not what America is about. So what I've proposed... is you say we're going to bring these folks out of the shadows. We're going to make them pay a fine, they are going to have to learn English, they are going to have to go to the back of the line...but they will have a pathway to citizenship over the course of 10 years."

Hook, Line, Sinker you say?

Look's like I caught a Great White.

Looks like you snagged your line on the hull.

Just another nutter who needs some classes in reading comprehension. No surprises there!

Here's what your own link says:

"Obama and Biden support a system that requires undocumented immigrants who are in good standing to pay a fine, learn English, and go to the back of the line for the opportunity to become citizens."

Next, I suppose you will try to make an argument that all of the undocumenteds are "violent, criminal, or aggressive."

Sheesh...

Tahoma,

If you had been following politics in the U.S. for even a single day this year, you would know that the Democrats have been trying to make all 11 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. legal citizens through amnesty to give them voting rights so that Obama could be re-elected.

Try watching the news someday so you can be a little informed.

notmuch88tosay

Harpa Timsah,

You need to start watching the news also.

CNN is on channel 111 and 113. Fox news is on channel 109 and 108.

Good luck,

notmuch88tosay

You heard it on FOX "news." No surprise there! That explains everything. Those who watch FOX "news" have been found in poll after poll to be the most uninformed voters.

Of course, I'm sure you would be glad to post a link from a credible source that supports your bizarro claim.

You didn't see it on CNN. Unlike FAUX news, they actually have some news. They are not a propaganda wing of the far-right wing-nut party.

If I were in your shoes, here's what I'd do:

> Attend your fiancée's interview.
> Submit your I-134.
> Submit an I-134 from your mom.
> Submit an I-864 from your parents.
> Submit notarized letters from your parents regarding their financial support for you and your fiancée.
> Make a personal appeal at the interview to the consular officer...make your case.
> Ask the consular officer to either approve the visa or marry you on the spot. ;)

Manila accepts cosponsors on a case-by-case basis. In your favor, you have a qualified cosponsor, youth, schooling, upward mobility, the support of your parents, and no expenses.

You have an especially tough case, but strange things can happen in Manila.

John, thanks friend...will heed.

Hey all, let me ask you guys this, on the example forms section, it looks like they have examples put it the blanks, and you can change it to your own info, so its a fillable form. And could my fiance fill them out and email or forward them to me, so I can print them, or me do the same for her?

Your fiancée will have to send you originals because original signatures are required. It's the same when you send your fiancée your I-134. It is a signed document, so it is required to be the original. Use Fed Ex or another carrier. Never send your documents through the Post Office.

For your I-129F packet that you will send to the USCIS, she will need to send you:

> An original G-325A.
> An original letter of intent to marry.
> A couple of her passport photos.
> Proof of annulment, proof of death of a spouse, proof of a name change...if any of these apply.

Those are the things I remember. If I missed anything, others will chime in.

Hi jetdoc...welcome to VJ... :star:

Chinook and I are K-1erz too.

Thanks to Chinook, we successfully completed the K-1 fiancée visa process, the adjustment of status process, and the removal of conditions process without using an attorney.

Before we started the K-1 process, I consulted with a well-regarded immigration attorney here in Seattle. He quoted me $1500 to complete the K-1 fiancée visa process. The quote didn't include adjusting status or removing conditions.

Chinook found VJ and convinced me that we could do this ourselves. And she was right. I now realize that an attorney would not only have been an unnecessary expense, but they also would have slowed down the process. Brit Abroad said it best!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion Regarding Medical Appointment and Interview
Here's the way it rolls in Manila...

You never really know when the Embassy will receive your case unless you call them or email them every day. Don't waste your time with that. After the Embassy receives your physical case, they are supposed to send you a letter telling you that you are eligible to schedule an interview, but it takes them a long time to send that letter. Don't wait around for it. Keep in mind that the Embassy not only has to receive your physical case file from the NVC, but they also have to enter it into their system...which takes time. Then it takes them more time to send you a letter. Judging by when your case left the NVC, I would say that your case should entered into their system at any time now. However, don't waste your time calling them and emailing them. Instead...

Go to BPI today and pay the visa fee. Tomorrow, start trying to schedule an interview. Try every day. You will know when your case has been entered into their system when you are able to schedule an interview appointment either online or through the call center.

After you schedule your interview, go get your medical completed. You can get your medical completed anytime up until a few days before your interview. You can use your NOA2 from the USCIS and your MNL case number from the NVC to get into St. Lukes. Of course, you can also use your interview confirmation sheet to get into St. Lukes.

After your medical, complete your CFO seminar. When you finally get your visa, go to the CFO main office and get the CFO sticker attached to your passport. You need it.

For your reading pleasure, here is the eligibility letter the Embassy is going to eventually send you.

Ingat ka.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresdoes K1 petition expire?

4-6 months to use the K1 visa depending on country. Which means beneficiary has 4-6 months to use it once it expires start all over again and also once it is used to enter USA it is obsolete. It is a one time entry visa.

I believe the OP is talking about an I-129F petition which has been approved by the USCIS. I don't believe the OP is talking about an Embassy-approved K-1 visa.

OP...The U.S. Embassy Manila can extend the validity of your 129-F petition. To extend the validity of your I-129F petition, simply contact them and ask them to do so. They routinely give extensions.

^^^ Why did you decide to wait until Monday to pay the visa fee?
TahomaMalePhilippines2011-08-31 13:36:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMedical and interview timing
In Manila, normally you would complete the medical a week or more before the interview. However, you'll likely be OK to finish the medical on Tuesday and have the interview on Thursday or Friday.

With anything scheduled closer together, you could ask St. Lukes during the medical whether they would allow you to hand-carry the results of the medical to the interview.

If you schedule the medical and the interview extremely close together, and St. Lukes won't allow you to hand-carry the results to the interview, I would still go to the interview. You can pass the interview, but you will be issued a 221g telling you that you'll have to wait for the medical results to be received and processed by the Embassy before they will issue your visa.
