K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCo-sponsorship for K1 visa
You must submit the petitioner's I-134.

I would also submit an I-864 and a W-2 from one of his parents (the parent with the highest qualifying income). The W-2 will show the individual income. Also, submit a copy of the parents' 2011 federal income tax return.

A letter from the parents would be good too. They could show support for your marriage and promise to support you.

Most importantly, I would have the petitioner attend the interview.

1. The tax return can be scanned and emailed.

2. The I-134 needs to be the original.

3. Never send important papers to the Philippines via USPS.

4. Always send important papers to the Philippines via FedEx or DHL.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVisa Expire vs i94 Expire

the visa generally have validity of 6 months from issuance, that means that you have 6 months in which you should use it. the I-94 is supposed to be valid for 3 months from entry in the usa. regardless of when you travel within that 6 months, your still going to get a I94 with a 3 months validity on it

The U.S. Embassy Manila issues K-1 fiancé(e) visas which expire six months from the date of the medical exam, not six months from the date on which the visa was issued.

Also, the I-94 is valid for 90 days, not for three months. There can be a difference.

My fiance called the NVC and they said that they send my case last SEPT 18 is there any way that we can track if it already reach the US embassy in manila? How?

You don't need to track your case. To save valuable time, you should pay the visa fee at BPI and then schedule an interview. Trust me, your case will arrive at the Embassy before your interview.

Oh really, one of the important paper are in that envelop. the I134 :(

If I were in your shoes, I would scan the I-134 and email it to her. I would do the same thing with your W-2, paycheck stubs, and employer's letter. That way, at least she has something to give to the pre-screener, and she will definitely get an interview with the consular officer.

If they don't notice the I-134 is a copy, then you are good to go. If they want the original, they'll simply issue her a 221g. Then she can send the original to them through 2GO.

Here's another vote for going to the interview.

She won't need to go back to the Embassy. She can drop off the documents, her passport, and a copy of her 221g at any 2GO branch. 2GO will deliver them to the Embassy. Mission accomplished.

Then you guys can kick back and wait for the visa to be delivered. :star:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan I have the medical exam even without the letter form the embassy?

Not trying to take over the Topic but me and Mav were talking about this yesterday. I told her to get her Medical completed. She asked : About the Visa Fee. I said: I don't think thats required yet. The Medical is good for 6 months is what I understand.
To the OP. I believe the MNL# is what you need along with other things listed above.
What confused me and Mav, was AN APPOINTMENT LETTER. I thought this was not required. Is this the letter you people are talking about? (Supposely looked at by the guard) ?

If you have already scheduled your interview, you can bring a copy of your interview appointment confirmation printout to St. Lukes in order to be admitted for your medical. However, it's not required. Instead, you can bring your USCIS NOA petition approval and your MNL case number.

The letter that you don't want to wait around for is the Embassy letter that tells you that you are eligible to schedule an interview and gives preparation instructions. That letter is here.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan I have the medical exam even without the letter form the embassy?

So, immediately after you receive the NOA2, you can immediately schedule your Interview appointment? No need to wait for the embassy letter or something? What do you have to do to schedule your interview appointment? Just get the MNL number by calling the embassy then pay the interview fee, then have your interview scheduled? Sorry, I'm just confused I need your advice on this, we're still waiting for the NOA2 and I'm just preparing in advance. THANK YOU SO MUCH!:)

If you want to speed things up, here's what to do:

1. A week or so after you receive the NOA approval for your petition from USCIS, start calling the National Visa Center (NVC) in order to get your MNL case number. Call the NVC every day until you get your MNL case number from them.

2. When you finally have your MNL case number, pay the visa fee at BPI. The next day, schedule an Embassy interview appointment online.

3. When you finally have your MNL case number, pre-register for your medical on St. Lukes website and complete your medical.

4. Don't wait for the Embassy to send you a letter telling you that you are eligible to schedule an interview. If you wait for their letter, it can set you back two months.

I hope this helps. :star:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan I have the medical exam even without the letter form the embassy?

How long will it take for that letter from the embassy to arrive to you? Can I not just present them the Notice of approval from the USCIS instead of the letter?

Leeanne...If you want to go to St. Lukes and complete your medical, don't wait for the eligibility letter from the Embassy because it can take two months or more to arrive, and you don't need it anyway. If you want to read it, TagalogBulldog posted a link to it already. Instead, call the National Visa Center (NVC) and get your MNL case number. The phone number for the NVC is 603-334-0700. Talk to one of the reps.

Also, your sweetheart should email you a copy of the NOA approval notice from the USCIS. When you have both your MNL case number and your NOA approval notice, then you can be admitted to St. Lukes for your medical.

Some people bring their interview appointment confirmation sheet with them to St. Lukes. If you bring your interview appointment confirmation sheet, it's guaranteed that St. Lukes won't hassle you.

Don't forget to pre-register for your medical on St. Lukes website. It will save you time on the day of your medical. Also, there's no need to arrive at St. Lukes and fall in line at 5 am. It's OK to arrive at St. Lukes in the late morning or the early afternoon. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are the best days to go because St. Lukes is not as busy on those days.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresquestion with filling out form and filing///fiancee visa works in saudi arabia...

i have another question from the time the petition reaches the manila consulate, how much time does he have to process the paper?

What paper are you talking about?

im just worried that he wont be able to get the police certificate in time if he have to wait until he comes home in the philippines to get it?

He will not be able to get a Saudi police certificate unless he's in Saudi.

Besides you saying that it takes about 3-6 months for the paper to reach NVC. im also worried because he said his employer won't let him skip work.

If he can not get a police clearance while he is in Saudi, then you had better hope he is not required to submit one at his Embassy interview.

Thank you. i really appreciate your help.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresquestion with filling out form and filing///fiancee visa works in saudi arabia...
It would make things simple if he got his Saudi police clearance. If he doesn't get his Saudi police clearance while he's in Saudi, then he won't be able to get one.

If he returns to the Philippines without a Saudi police clearance, the question becomes whether or not he will be required to submit a Saudi police clearance at his Embassy interview in Manila since you filed his I-129 fiancé visa petition with the USCIS while he was still working and residing in Saudi Arabia. I don't know the answer to that question. Keep in mind that you do not have to submit any police clearances with your USCIS I-129 fiancé visa petition. Police clearances are only necessary at the Embassy interview.

If the U.S. Embassy Manila requires him to submit a Saudi police clearance at his Embassy interview and he doesn't have one, he will have to return to Saudi Arabia and get one. On the other hand, the U.S. Embassy Manila may not require him to submit a Saudi police clearance because he's living in the Philippines at the time of his interview. I don't know.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresquestion with filling out form and filing///fiancee visa works in saudi arabia...
From your link:

Police clearances are unavailable for third country nationals who no longer reside in the Kingdom.

That's why the U.S. Embassy Manila doesn't require them.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 Visa Petition Approved

Im just trying to get a good guess as to when to purchase airline tickets.

Purchase airline tickets after the visa is in hand.

Here's how to speed things up:

> Get your MNL case number form the National Visa center (NVC). Start calling the NVC now. Call them every day until they give you your MNL case number. Talk to a human at NVC...don't use their automated system.

> After you get your MNL case number, pre-register for the medical on St. Lukes website. Pre-registering saves time on the day of the medical. St. Lukes has a first-come first-served policy, so there is no need to make an appointment. Go get the medical done as soon as you can.

> Also after you get your MNL case number, pay the visa fee at BPI. The following business day, make an Embassy interview appointment online.

> Don't waste valuable time waiting for the Embassy to send the beneficiary an interview eligibility letter. You don't need it. If you want to read it, you can read it here.

> After the Embassy interview, you will have the visa in your hands in anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks. If for some reason the Embassy puts your case into administrative review, it could take much longer to receive your visa.

Now get rolling so you can have her on a flight before the end of January! Good luck!!! :star:

Hi Tahoma, I am really relieved with all the encouragements from you. :) Lets just hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Thank you so much I really appreciate your help :). Can I ask you another question? Can I possibly re-schedule or cancel my interview if ever there are problems that may arise during my medical exam? My fiance and I are thinking to have my medical and interview in same month/week if its possible. :)

St. Lukes will cancel your Embassy interview if it becomes necessary. Then, when your medical is completed, you can reschedule your interview.

Thank you Tahoma, You are a wonderful person. :) Now I am not too worried as I have an idea on how the psychological evaluation/exam is perform. I am still hoping that they will consider and believe my explaination. Again thank you so much and for sharing your thoughts. :)

Walang anuman po. :) I don't think you will have any problem. I doubt you will even be required to undergo a psychological evaluation. And it's almost certain that you won't have to undergo a psychological exam. The psych exam is usually reserved for more severe cases and for those who have been annulled due to psychological incapacitation.

Good luck. :star:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPriority date for interview appointment online. Please help!!!
Because of your scar, the doctor at St. Lukes may require you to undergo a psychological evaluation. A psychological evaluation takes less than an hour. Sometimes it takes only ten minutes. Basically, all you do is chat with another doctor. The little chat will cost you P1000. It's my understanding that the results of the psychological evaluation are available to St. Lukes very quickly, so it doesn't delay your visa journey.

If the doctor who performs the psychological evaluation thinks you might have mental health issues, he can require you to undergo a psychological exam. The psychological exam takes a full day and costs P3000. The results of the psychological exam are available in up to two weeks.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresApproved and Confused!!!

Thanks! I'm just a bit confused cause from the forums that I've read, the consuls would say something like "Congratulations! Your visa is approved. Welcome to the United States of America!"

haha!

And then there's the "pink slip" that people get. Maybe the new US Embassy has a different system? I was also looking around for people holding pink slips but I don't remember seeing any.

Congratz on your approval !!! :star:

The consular officers don't always tell you that you are approved...sometimes they will say other things like "everything looks good"...or something to that effect...sometimes they don't say anything at all.

They don't use pink slips any more.

> To help answer your question about a SS number for Mae, check out this VJ thread.

> You are absolutely right about the their need for winter clothes. Without winter clothing, they will be freezing even after only a minute or two outdoors. You don't need to take them directly from the airport to the mall, just make sure they have something warm to wear on the way home from the airport, and then from home to the mall. You can get them inexpensive jackets, hats, and gloves to wear until they can shop for better heavy-duty winter wear in their sizes and styles. Make sure they understand the layering system of dressing for the cold, and then buy accordingly. Also, they also will probably be cold indoors if you keep your place at less than 80F, so you don't want to forget sweaters, sweatshirts, warm pj's and slippers.

> Make sure you take Eve down to the local Social Security Administration office to apply for a Social Security number about a week after she arrives. Having a SS number will help you guys with the packet for adjusting her status...you can add her to your bank account and bills and whatnot.

Amelie...

Yikes!! I have not seen a case like this before. Some gago is messing with you. :bonk:

What about the CFO certificate which was stapled in your passport, and also the CFO stamp in your passport? Are they still there? If they are still in your passport, you will want to make sure that they are in transferred to your new passport if possible. You will need the CFO stamp in order to fly to the U.S. If you have not already attended the CFO seminar, then it's not an issue.

Also, I believe St. Lukes stamps passports upon completion of the medical. I doubt if you need that stamp in order to board your flight and to pass through your POE, but you might want to find out if the DFA can attach that page to your new passport.

I hope you can get this all straightened out before February 1 because, after that, it's my understanding that you will be required to pay the visa fee again.

Hang in there and take it one step at a time...you can do this.
