K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAfter I receive my NOA2

how much did you pay for interview and medical? Did you pay it in dollars?

The visa application fee is $240.00. Pay the visa application fee in Philippine Pesos at BPI.

The medical exam fee is $223.35. Pay the medical exam fee in Philippine Pesos at St. Lukes.

Your fiancé will need a CENOMAR for his Embassy interview, and mostly likely he'll need one for the CFO seminar too.

What type of petition are you using... I-129f (K1) or I-130 Married. There is a difference in the procedures, and I don't see yours listed on your profile info.

They are a K-1. Click on their timeline to see their info.

Btw..here is the link for the packet 3...

http://ebookbrowse.c...1-pdf-d77633908

^^^ That document is outdated.

OP...Here is the new document which says that you are eligible for an interview and it gives you instructions on how to prepare for the interview. The link is to the U.S. Embassy Manila website: Click here for the English version........or....... Click here for the Tagalog version.

Please don't wait for the Embassy to send you that letter because it is a waste of time. It can take a month or more to receive it. Some people never receive it. Instead, just call the NVC to get your MNL case number and you can start the ball rolling.

Here is a copy of the letter the Embassy is supposed to send your beneficiary: USEM link.

The Embassy is usually slow to send this eligibility letter which gives you interview preparation instructions. Sometimes it never arrives. So, you need to proceed without it.

The first thing you need to do is to call the National Visa Center and get your MNL case number. Once you have your MNL case number, things will start moving quickly because you can schedule an interview and complete the medical.

hi, i have some questions :) my fiancee will petition me, and we are both new to this process. do i need to sign the G-325A and the I-129F?

You need to sign your G-325A and your Letter of Intent to Marry. Send the originals to your fiancé, and keep a copy of each for yourself. Also, send some U.S.-style passport photos to your fiancé.

You don't need to sign the I-129F.

If you haven't already, you should read the VJ Guides for K-1'ers. They are very helpful: Link to K-1 Guides.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAbout I 184/I 134
The U.S. Embassy accepts joint sponsors on a case-by-case basis. It's a 50/50 gamble whether they will accept your joint sponsor.

If I were in your shoes, I would submit the petitioner's I-134 and the joint sponsor's I-864.

Also, the petitioner should attend the interview.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsplease help on K1

remittances? I have lots of western union receipts. Will it be useful to show those? Don't you think the interviewer will think of something different like I'm taking advantage of my fiancee?

He has no dependents and is employed in a security company. Do you think with 19,000 gross annual income, he still needs to be present on my interview date? Thanks btw :)

You don't need to offer the remittance receipts. However, you should have them on hand in case the Filipino pre-screener or the consular officer asks for them. Remittances are normal in the Philippines and the Embassy knows it. They won't hold it against you.

The Embassy might think it's unusual if your sweetheart did not send remittances. That's happened to some VJ members.

I believe it's a good idea for a petitioner to attend the interview if the petitioner's income is flirting with the poverty guidelines. When they are so close to 125% of the poverty line, it's possible that the consular officer could issue you a 221g based upon their belief that you will become a public charge in the U.S. I also believe that it makes it more difficult for a consular officer to refuse a visa based upon public charge when the petitioner attends the interview.

oh, i have read here in Vj that i also need the copy of the 129-f package that my fiancee submitted when he filed the petition. We dont have a copy of it anymore. Do we still need to secure the entire package and bring to USEM during the interview?

It's always a good idea to take a copy of the I-129F packet to the interview. The packet should include photocopies of everything except for receipts. The receipts should be originals.

You never know what the consular officer is going to ask for. The CO may not ask for anything from the I-129F packet. On the other hand, the CO may ask for something. If you don't have it, you likely will receive a 221g. Also, sometimes the Embassy loses documents. If they lose one of your documents, it's highly likely that they will ask you to give them a copy at your interview. If you don't have it, then you likely will get issued a 221g.

You should also take a copy of the I-129F packet to the CFO seminar. The CFO likely will ask you to provide some random information such as your fiancé's mother's maiden name. If you don't know the answer, there's a good chance that the information will be contained in the I-129F packet. In the case of your fiancé's mother's maiden name, you will find that information on Form G-325A of the I-129F packet.

Another example...If your fiancé has been divorced, the CFO will want a copy of your fiancé's divorce papers. Those papers will be included in the copy of the I-129F packet.

Never give away your last copy of anything. Always have a copy of everything.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsplease help on K1

Hello to all!

I just scheduled my k1 interview at USEM here in Manila city. We are already preparing financial documents. I am really worried that we got denied because:

1. we only met twice, July 2007, and July 2011.

^^^ You are fine. Many of us only met in-person one time, and we were approved with no problem.

2. His current income is $19,000 before taxes (gross, he only rent the place he lives in.

^^^ Is your fiancé self-employed? If he is self-employed, the consular officer will be looking at his "total income" on line 22 of his federal income tax return.

If he is not self-employed, his annual income of $19,000 is barely enough over 125% of the poverty line for a household of two people (you and your fiancé). If he has any children under 21 or any dependents on his tax return, then he would fall under 125% of the poverty line for his household size.

3. We only have few pictures, NO snail mail, but we got yahoo chat logs.

^^^ You should be fine.

4. and he wont be with me in the interview.

^^^ When a petitioner is flirting with the poverty line, my advice is for the petitioner to attend the interview. It's not required, but I believe it helps in Manila.

Do you think those would be grounds for denial?

^^^ It's highly unlikely that you would be denied. A denial is usually because they believe your relationship is fraudulent.

However, your visa may be refused for any number of reasons. If it is refused, then the Embassy will issue you an MNL-IV-22 (221g) which will tell you why your visa was refused. One of the most common types of refusal are when the petitioner does not meet the financial requirements. Also, a refusal often results from a petitioner or a beneficiary lacking necessary documents, such as an NBI clearance or a CENOMAR. The 221g gives you one year to correct the situation.

Best of luck to you!!! :star:

yes its possible for you to get a cfo sticker at the airport, its located ate terminal 1, beside the travel tax counter.. all u have to do is to call them at least a day before ur flight and give them ur flight info.. here is the number 8795685. i just did it to my son last nov 21..

^^^ Agreed!!!

Yes, there's a CFO counter at NAIA. However, it's a good idea to call them in advance to make sure there will be someone at the counter. It's my understanding that sometimes there is no one at the CFO counter. It's probably safer to arrive in Manila a day earlier and get your CFO sticker at the CFO main office.

OP...By the way, my wife, Chinook, is from Bacolod City. :)

Is there any guide after i received NOA2?

Read this: U.S. Embassy letter telling the beneficiary that they are eligible to schedule an interview and giving interview preparation instructions.

Don't waste time waiting for the letter to arrive because it could set you back a month or more. Some people never receive the letter. Instead, start calling the National Visa Center (NVC) next week and keep calling them until they give you your MNL case number.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsk1 visa under administrative review

Please note..If you get AP or AR then please make your mind that the processing is being done for Petitioner side. If you get 221G then something you are lacking from your end (beneficiary end)...Please do complete it if you get 221 G. 221G always asks something which would make your relationship stronger for Consular. That's it... Do it and get your visa.

None of what you are asserting is true at the U.S. Embassy Manila (USEM).

AP/AR at the USEM often results from the Embassy's decision to order their own copy of the beneficiary's CENOMAR/CENMAR/Certificate of Marriage/NBI clearance. None of these have anything to do with the petitioner.

Also, the USEM often issues an MNL-IV-22 (221g) that says "wait until you hear from us." In those cases, there is nothing lacking from the beneficiary, and the USEM does not require the beneficiary to submit any documents.

Also, most of the 221g's from the USEM don't ask for documents which would make the relationship stronger. Most of them ask for documents which support the I-134.
