Keep calling the NVC until you get your MNL case number. Once you have your MNL case number, you are good to go: you can pay the visa application at BPI, schedule an interview appointment, complete the medical, and even complete the CFO seminar.

You won't need the USCIS approval notice until she adjusts her status here in the U.S.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsInterview Date

i see. Thanks for that info yeah I will check it out later.I am just waiting for the embassy to contact us for the instructions then we will book an interview appointment and the medical exam.

Anyway do you know if ever we get the embassy mails next month, is it okay if we set an appointment on' the 15th of december or 26th?

Why wait for the Embassy to contact you? Because you already have your MNL case number, you can get started right now. You don't need to wait for the Embassy's instructions letter. The sooner you get rolling, the more likely you are to get the interview date that you want.

wow answered all the questions.this helps a lot ..
Do you know how long does the CFO seminar lasts?'

Falling in line for the seminar lasts a few hours. The seminar lasts a few more hours.

Get there early. There are a limited number of slots each day.

Also, check out the Philippines forum here on VJ. There are a lot of great threads about people's CFO experience.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsInterview Date
Your petition is on it's way to Manila. You have your MNL case number, so now is the time to have your fiancée pay the visa application fee at BPI. Then, the next day, schedule an Embassy interview appointment. You don't need to wait around for the NVC or the U.S. Embassy Manila to send anything to either of you.

Once she has her interview appointment scheduled, she can complete the medical. There's no need to wait until a week or two before the interview to complete her medical. Just keep in mind that her visa will be valid for six months from the date of her medical, not from the date of her Embassy interview.

Your fiancée doesn't need an email nor a snail mail with her MNL case number on it in order to be admitted into St. Lukes for her medical. I have never heard of a K-1er being turned away by St. Lukes because they didn't have an email or a snail mail from the NVC. She can be admitted into St. Lukes using her interview appointment confirmation printout and a verbal MNL case number.

Your fiancée can even complete the CFO seminar before her interview. Then, when she gets her visa, all she needs to do is go back to the CFO and get a CFO sticker affixed to her passport, and then she's ready to roll.

By the way, once the Embassy receives your petition, they are supposed to send your fiancée a letter (packet 3) which tells her that she's eligible to schedule an interview and it gives instructions on how to prepare for the interview. Don't wait around for the letter because you would be wasting a lot of valuable time. It could cost you a month or more. Some people never receive it. Instead, go ahead and pay the visa application fee and schedule an interview.

can i finish first the medical before the interview schedule? can i schedule it a month after the medical since i have to do other things like file resignation and the others. thanks in advance for the replies and thank you all again.

Yes, you can complete your medical before you schedule your interview appointment. Use your MNL case number to be admitted into St. Luke's for your medical.

You can schedule your interview a month after your medical if you want to. Just keep in mind that your visa is valid for about six months from the date of your medical.

Also, your I-129F petition is valid for four months from it's approval date. If needed, you can email the Embassy and get it extended four more months. You can extend it a couple of times.

Congratz! Wow, that was quick!

In a week or so, you can start calling the NVC in order to get your MNL case number. Once you have your MNL case number, you can pay the visa application fee at BPI, then schedule your interview appointment, then complete the medical.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsQuestion about our NOA2 (Strange)

You got a normal approval notice.

Also, your approved petition will go to the NVC before it's sent to Manila.

About two weeks after USCIS approval, you should start calling the NVC in order to get your MNL case number.  Don't wait for the Embassy to send your beneficiary an instructions letter because that will waste a month or more of your time.  Instead, once you have your MNL case number, you can pay the visa application fee at BPI, schedule an interview appointment, and complete the medical.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC FILE TO MANILA EMBASSY

Your case file needs to be at the Embassy for your interview.  However, there's no need to contact the Embassy to find out whether they have your case file because your case file will be there in time for your interview.  No worries.

TahomaMalePhilippines2013-12-29 21:55:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDepartment of State

Your petition was approved on December 3.  The USCIS will forward your petition to the NVC soon.  Lately, it's taking up to several weeks for the NVC to receive K-1 petitions from the USCIS.  You might want to start calling the NVC any time now in order to get your MNL case number.  Keep calling the NVC every few days until you get it.

Once you have your MNL case number, your fiancée can pay the visa application fee at BPI and schedule an interview appointment with the U.S. Embassy Manila.

Once the interview appointment has been scheduled, your fiancée can complete her medical at St. Lukes Medical Extension Center.  She can complete the medical anytime up to about one week before her Embassy interview.

The alternative to calling the NVC for your MNL case number is to wait for the NVC to forward your petition to the U.S. Embassy Manila and for the Embassy to notify your fiancée that she's eligible to schedule an interview appointment.  This alternative will take quite a bit longer because you have to wait for your case file to be shipped to the Embassy and for the Embassy to notify your fiancée.

You can read the Embassy letter which notifies your fiancée that she's eligible to schedule an interview appointment and gives her instructions on how to prepare for the interview here: http://photos.state....tober 2013_.pdf

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWhen Can I Start Geting Police Report and Proof of Eligiblity to Marry?

BTW it does say on the link you included, under section D, that "Applicants aged 16 years and older must have a valid Record Clearance."  It doesn't say in that section that there are exceptions if she has not worked in a foreign country, etc.

Section "d" is about NBI clearances.  All K-1ers need to submit an NBI clearance.

Section "e" is about foreign police clearances.  K-1ers who worked overseas for more than six months must submit a foreign police clearance in addition to their NBI clearance.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsgot my noa2!!! whats next???

I got my NOA2 approved last January 22, 2014. I've been reading some topics regarding getting a MNL case# at NVC. is it true that the waiting time to get and MNL case# is longer if your application is filled in CSC than TSC? how long should i wait to get my MNL case#? what should I do next?

Congratz on your petition approval !!!

Next, you need to get your MNL case number from the NVC. Hopefully it won't take too long. A friend of mine recently got their MNL case number in about a month. His petition went through the CSC. Maybe you can start calling the NVC in two or three weeks. Don't wait for the NVC to send you a letter because that will set you back a week or two.

While you are waiting for your MNL case number, you should take a look at this: http://philippinefia....com/steps.html

Since you now have your MNL case number, your fiancée should pay the visa application fee. Then, she can schedule an interview appointment online. Then, a week or two before her interview, she can complete the medical.

Don't wait for the Embassy instructions letter. Sometimes it never arrives. Instead, you can read the Embassy letter here: http://photos.state....4 Feb 2014_.pdf

By the way, your case will arrive at the Embassy in time for her interview, so you have no worries there.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI 797 Notice of Action

So what can I do to speed this up or do I just wait?

The USCIS will send your approved petition to the National Visa Center (NVC).  The NVC will assign your petition an MNL case number and forward it to the U.S. Embassy Manila (USEM).  Then, theoretically, the USEM will send your beneficiary a letter telling her that she's eligible to schedule an interview and giving her instructions on how to prepare for an interview.

I would advise you not to wait for the USEM's letter because it takes a long time to receive it and, often times, it never arrives at all.  Instead of waiting for the letter, it's much faster to call the NVC and get your MNL case number.  Once you have your MNL case number, you can pay the visa application fee and schedule an interview online.  Once you schedule an interview, you can complete the medical at St. Lukes a week or two before the interview.

This should save you a good month or more.

I would suggest that you wait a few weeks before you start calling the NVC.  It seems that lately the USCIS is slow in forwarding petitions to the NVC.  Recently, it took a month for the USCIS to forward my friend's approved I-129F petition to the NVC.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC case number, did you already get yours?
You should call the NVC again and talk to a tier 2 person in order to find out if your case has been sent to Manila or if you are on administrative processing. If you are on administrative processing, then your case is still at the NVC and you will have to wait for it to leave the NVC before you schedule an interview.
