K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHi visa journey... Pls enlighten me
Back in the days when Air21 delivered the visas, Chinook was very anxious and excited while she was waiting for her fiancée visa.

Chinook signed up for home delivery but, as soon as she received an early morning text from Air21 telling her that her visa was going to be delivered that day, she immediately called their Bacolod office and asked them to hold her visa at the office. Then, she jumped in a cab and went to the office to pick up her visa.

Chinook knew that her neighborhood was usually the last stop in the city for Air21 and, had she waited for her visa, it would have been delivered in the late afternoon. She couldn't wait that long for it.

When Chinook walked into the Air21 office, the guys there started serenading her with that song about Filipinos who leave but will return some day..."babalik ka rin."

You should wait until you have your visa in your hot little hand before you book a flight. Of course, if you feel like gambling, book your flight now.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWhere i can get my vaccines record in Philippines
If you have your vaccination record, take it with you to your medical. If you don't have your vaccination record, don't worry about it. St. Lukes will give you the age-appropriate vaccinations. The cost of the vaccinations are included in the medical fee. Good luck with your medical.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsPolice clearance in K1visa in manila
If you lived in another country for six months or more after the age of 16, you must submit a police clearance from that country at your interview. You do not have to submit a local Filipino police clearance nor a barangay clearance.

You may get lucky and he will get his visa in time for you to fly back together. I hope so.

I like your idea about taking a week off when he arrives in the U.S. That's what I did when Chinook arrived in the U.S.

You don't need your birth certificate. You need a copy of your birth certificate.

Congratz on the approval!!!

I'm glad Ellen didn't receive a 221g at her interview. That would have slowed down her visa a bit.

Apparently, the consular officer had everything they needed to prove that you could support Ellen, and they did not need the I-134 Affidavit of Support.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsPetitioned approved, waiting from NVC response

Some one correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the K-1 just gets forwarded to the consulate after you call them and they issue the case number. I think the shortcuts your speaking of are for CR1/IR1 which don't work anymore because the forms are now submitted electronically.

Just give the NVC a call on Monday and ask about your case. Phone 603-334-0700.

The information I'm offering in this thread is specific to K-1ers who are going through the U.S. Embassy Manila. Other Embassies / Consulates may have different procedures.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsPetitioned approved, waiting from NVC response

I have heard about the shortcut as well, once you have your case number......however where you take the medical exam in manila it clearly states bringing copies of your embassy invitation/instruction letter with you??????

For K-1ers:

St. Lukes will accept the Embassy interview appointment confirmation printout from when you make an online appointment.

Or, if you make an interview appointment through the call center, St. Lukes will accept the confirmation email.

They have also accepted the NVC notice because it has your MNL case number on it.

Also, there have been many reports over the years that St. Lukes has accepted MNL case numbers verbally.

Here is the letter the U.S. Embassy Manila is supposed to send to the beneficiary: http://photos.state....4 Feb 2014_.pdf
TahomaMalePhilippines2014-03-22 12:03:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsPetitioned approved, waiting from NVC response
Generally, it can take three weeks or more for the NVC to receive your petition from the USCIS. Recently, a friend of mine waited about four weeks.

Once the NVC receives your petition, they will assign your petition an MNL case number and forward it to the U.S. Embassy Manila. When the Embassy receives your petition, they eventually will send your beneficiary a letter telling her that she's eligible to schedule an interview and giving her instructions on how to prepare for the interview.

Instead of waiting for the Embassy to notify you, you could take a shortcut and save a lot of time. You could call the NVC periodically to find out if they have received your petition. When they have received your petition, you can get your MNL case number from them.

Once you have your MNL case number, you can pay the visa application fee at BPI and schedule an Embassy interview appointment. There is no need to wait for the U.S. Embassy Manila to notify the beneficiary that they are eligible to schedule an interview. If you wait for the Embassy to notify you, it could set you back a month or more. Sometimes, the Embassy letter never arrives.

Yes, as others said, it's okay to remove your passport. Just don't open the Manila-colored envelope that has one corner cut out. And...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsK1 Visa application is under further administrative processing/ review

My fiance already contacted the Senator and they email the embassy and they received same response. We email the embassy again and asked if there will be additional documents needed so we can submit it as soon as possible, but they told us that no document is needed but only to wait till their review is done. Its frustrating but maybe we need to still wait for little more time. Me and my fiance mailed proof to the embassy such as pictures, emails, chat logs although they dont ask for it.. I wonder if they look at it, because during my interview they didnt even look one of my proof I brought. I hope their so-called review will be done.

You've done everything you can do. I'm glad your Senator checked into it. Even if a Senator has no power to officially do anything, their call to the Embassy puts the Embassy on notice that you care enough about your relationship to go to all of the trouble of contacting your Senator.

I truly believe that you will finally get your visa, and all of your waiting will have been worth it.

Best wishes... :star:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsK1 Visa application is under further administrative processing/ review

During my interview in the releasing window the person incharge just told me to wait till I can hear from them. But after 2 weeks we emailed the embassy and they told us that our case was for further review and document verification. And After two months we emailed the embassy again, and we received a reply telling us that the consul need to be satisfied with our relationship. Its kinda scary because its like the CO doesnt believe with our relationship. But still im hoping for a possitive vibes this Month.

:wow: First, their reason was document verification, and now their excuse is they don't believe your relationship is legitimate.

Maybe it's a test. As the petitioner, I would be calling and emailing the Embassy every other day in order to show them how much I care about my relationship. I would also contact my United States Senator's offices and ask them to intervene.

Im in the same situation. My case is also put in AP. I'm already waiting almost 3 months and yet nothing good still waiting. I so hope that the review will be over and that the visa will be release soon.

:wow: You may have set a new record at the American Embassy in Manila!!!

What was the problem with your interview / paperwork? Did you have to interview a second time?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsK1 Visa application is under further administrative processing/ review
Don't worry...it won't take months...it will take from a few days to a few weeks. The Embassy is probably checking out your birth date.

Chinook received a 221g at her K-1 interview. She received her visa one week after she submitted the required documents.

Hang in there...your time is coming malapit na!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsOctober 2013 Filers

I just got off the phone with NVC and I was told that they got my petition on 12/09/13 and they already sent it to Manila on 12/11/13.  And of course I got my MNL#.  I am so happy that it didn't take 8 weeks, only 4 weeks.  Of course now we have to book the interview and from what I have been hearing the next available times are going to be in April 2014.  Kind of sucks but oh well.

Now that you have your MNL case number, your fiancée should pay the visa application fee at BPI right away, and then schedule an interview appointment.  Then, she can proceed with the medical.

You can get an earlier interview appointment if you are persistent in checking the website.  When an open appointment pops up in January or February, grab it.  You can reschedule twice without any penalty.

when the petitioner does not meet the minimum income requirements a joint sponsor is needed

For CR-1'ers, isn't that all taken care of at the NVC stage of the process?
