PhilippinesOriginal NBI, or copy ok?
QUOTE (rheanick @ Apr 4 2009, 08:54 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
She has to get another NBI.

If she want "no record on file" remark, tell her not to bring her latest NBI when getting a new one.

If she shows her latest NBI while applying, expect the remark to be "no derogatory record"....

rhea, thanks again as always. And, thanks to others also. It all helps, and that's what I was afraid of.

PhilippinesOriginal NBI, or copy ok?
My fiance's original was kept by the DFA in issuing her passport. Will the photocopy pass muster at the interview?
If not, is there way to get a duplicate on-line, via the mail? It's a 3-hour bus ride for her back to the NBI in a neighboring city.

THanks for the assist.

Where else can a fat, older and ugly American get a young beautiful brown skinned woman even look at them. In the US a similiar woman would spit on them if they even said hello!

Heah, I'll cop to the fat part, but NOT the "older and ugly", Okay!? devil.gif

There are plenty of other nations where women are more concerned with the heart, and less with the exterior, or the 'wallet'. Why the RP? I was approached by a stranger who urged me to look there. I asked him also about the other countries. We discussed some of the generalities of women from those nations, and he laid out a case for the PI. I went home and researched what he told me, and it checked out. I registered on a couple of dating sites.....and now, I'll be forever happy.

That stranger is one no longer, and is now a good friend! kicking.gif

Okay, let me be more specific to most women that I'm familiar with here, where I've grown up and lived, in the USA.smile.gif Test my assertion. Ask all of your girlfriends if they would give up their MySpace, or FaceBook passwords to their fiance'. Go ahead, and see how many will assert the need for 'privacy' and would be against it. I'm NOT saying they would refuse out of something to hide with respect to guilt, but rather...perhaps..embarrassment at all of the girl-talk their partner would find. wink.gif

Indeed, not a flame war. Just a generality I've observed. One of our many differences of culture and upbringing.

Ms. Wreck, I hope I can give you some more food for thought. When I fell for my fiance' , I let her read everything that the "other" woman and I had exchangd. Very quickly, I told that other lady to let it rest. She has dignity and class, so she did so.

Soon thereafter, my fiance' gave me the password to her Friendster. I was FLOORED at her level of trust toward me. You may not know, but a western lady would NEVER do this, even IF she had nothing to hide. It's just a boundary we don't ever cross in our culture.

My visit came, and one of the things I did with her there was to delete my account on the site where we met. I told her to leave HER's up, just in case something happened to me{I know, that's morbid!}. In the days after my return, she gave me the rest of her passwords to her Yahoo, AND that same dating site. Without any hesitation, I also gave her mine, to my e-mail accounts. Yes, we both went in and read each other's stuff, and we learned a bit more about one another. I joked with her about some of the men that had contacted her. smile.gif

There's NO Secerets between us, and I rue the day there ever may be.

PhilippinesIs there A visa type w/no interview?
I KNOW our K-visas have an interview, and that's not my question. Twice now, my fiance' has been told a story by both a cousin and a friend, that they heard of a friend or acquaintance not having to sit for an interview. They also understood it to be a K-visa.

She is petrified of the interview process, despite my assurance that it's all going to be fine. I told her that they are providing her bad information about our journey, BUT...perhaps there's some other type of visa where they only review documents? Anyhow, I told her I would ask about it on the forum, and here I am doing so.

Thanks folks!

My fiance just did it earlier today at her BDO. They collect enough pesos to equal $131 USD at the current exhange rate that day. They DID stamp the back of her form to validate it, and accepted the one she had already completed and printed out. Plus, they also issued her a receipt for payment.

> Use your ATM card and / or your Visa card to get cash from an ATM in the Philippines, just like you do where you live.
> Call customer service at your bank before you go to the Philippines, and tell them about your trip. Do this for your ATM card and for your Visa. That way you make sure your bank won't put a hold on your transactions while they wonder what your card is doing the Philippines.

> Before you leave for the Philippines, get some Philippine Pesos at your bank, so you have some pocket money when you get there. Try to get some small bills too (for taxi rides, meals, tips, and that sort of thing).

> Don't carry large amounts of cash there. Carry your wallet in your front pocket.

ATM's work, as instructed. However, SOME run out of money. 10K pesos per transaction is the typical cash limit. Just do another transaction if you need more. Or, go to the next ATM if it denies you.

I alerted ALL credit cards that I took with the dates of my trip. Be aware that you'll incur a small "foreign transaction fee" for every use of the card. I was told it would be 3%, but it was only about 1.5% on my billing statements.

I'm in a big city, and even our banks didn't offer the foreign currency. The local American Express travel office did so, for $6, and I got $60 worth of RP pesos before I left.

I had an underwear wallet, and a neck wallet, and both are easily had from REI.smile.gif

I suspect you wouldn't be jealous of someone you didn't believe existed, so I'm thankful for that. But really, do you feel they should be thanking their petitioners? We USC's don't hold sway over the adjudicators, either in the service centers, or the NVC. Neither do we hold sway over the docs at SLEC, nor the COs at the USEM. Yes, in 'scriptural terms', WE may have 'planted the seed'. But, WHO's getting the watering done toward the harvest of APPROVAL? smile.gif

I won't bore you with the details of how I got on this path. However, what you might view merely as a series of extraordinary coincidences, my fellow Believers see as God's orchestration. Just because we DO have free will does not prevent God from putting choices in front of us, and knowing which way we will choose. I can't recall the scripture in Samuel, but David's being pursued by his enemy. He asks God about the result of two choices. God answered him as to what the outcome would be, and David made his decision. Two possible courses of action, and God knew what would happend on EACH one...and what David would choose.
