There is nothing like patience - just received from Vermont Service Center: email at 5:00 p.m. CDT "Your case is now updated. Check "My Case Status" etc: Status updated on USCIS - "Post Decision Activity On September 17, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I-129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Flight came in a little bit ahead of the scheduled ETA from JFK. So while his snoring up a storm, I decided to check the USCIS site. And what do I see?? NOA2 approval!!! Wow, Great timing.. We want to thank all memebers of VJ for your support and especially those who gave info. as to HOW TO RESPOND TO RFE. This guidance was certainly instrumental. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	For Vermont applicants - unreliable website	I hope my experience this morning can help some other people out there who feel they should have heard something by now. We had a May 8th receipt date. I have called into the 800 number on numerous occasions and everyone said "just keep waiting." So this morning, I called and asked for a supervisor (is this the "Tier 2" I've heard about?) The supervisor looked up our case and we learned we were actually approved back on November 5th but never heard anything about this. I contacted the NVC after that and learned that the packet was actually sent to the embassy on November 20th! So if anyone thinks things are lagging in Vermont, call and ask for a supervisor! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	APPROVED!!!	We're APPROVED!!!! My fiance had his interview today at the Vancouver Consulate and I was with him. The interveiw itself lasted only 10 minutes but the total time at the consulate was 2.5 hours. Lots of waiting but it was all very easy. We were complimented on the organization of our package and documents, thanks to all the help we received here. Thanks Visa Journey!! There was another guy there for his K-1 and he had used an attorney. He paid a lot of money, waited a lot longer and was missing documents from his package. He was approved, given he mailed the docs to the consulate. More waiting for him. I'm so glad we found this site and used the guides here. Now to move on to POE and wedding planning!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Have not received NOA1 after a month	I send I-129F for my fiance on Nov. 14, 2002 and got a text with receipt number. Basically it was filed and check cashed on Nov. 19...but I still haven't received the NOA1 hardcopy. Is that normal??? Getting really antsy. My case says still under review! Your Case number should begin with WAC if it is through California, not EAC (through Vermont). If you have a number you don't necessarily need a paper copy. The status may read "Initial Review" right through the process and after it has been approved as often happens. It may be updated but it is possible that it wont be, or it may just show that you are approved when that happens. If you put all your information in your timeline, you should get a date when your petition is likely to be approved or otherwise. Again, this can change depending on the workload or delays in processing. If you have a case number and your check has been banked, then they have your file. Following that you can only keep an eye on others results to give some indication of when you may expect your I-129F to be approved, an RFE or other outcome. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	FIANCEE VISA APPROVED!!	So, I'm back on this topic...I leave for the States in 2 days and I just called the airline asking about cancel the return flight, but they say they can't cancel it? They can change the date but not cancel. The guy told me I could just not show up, but I wouldn't want to get accused of leaving the country, how LeftCoastLady said... I don'tknow what to do! You cancel the return flight after you have used the first flight (to the U.S.). You can just not show up, but later on in your process authorities may think that you actually took the flight back to Italy again and abandoned your K1 before adjusting status. The visa processing fee is $240, not $350. See this post: http://www.visajourn...ost__p__5854492 The embassy fee used to be $350 but was reduced back in April this year. It is now $240. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Return flight cancellation	You cancel the return flight after arrival in the US and before the date that return flight is due to depart. The airline will not cancel it for you before you use the first flight. You can cancel anytime after arrival in the US and before the return date. As far as the carrier is concerned you could just not turn up for the flight, but you may have a problem later with immigration who may think you left on that flight and abandoned your visa, so it is better to cancel it rather than just not turn up. Unfortunately as you have been told by your attorney and USCIS, you are still within normal processing times and the only thing you can do is wait. There are many people here in the same boat. I know it's difficult, but just try to be patient and your time will come. I am sure there is nothing wrong with your file, VSC is just overwhelmed with cases right now. Having read different opinions from time to time on the 'Go to' person when all else fails... can I just ask for those with experience of contacting a Senator (or otherwise) to have their case resolved - what is the best procedure? Write or call, what information do they need to proceed and who is the most effective person to contact? We have been through the mill already and been told over and over that they have all the information, and will proceed with our case - talked to Tier 2 supervisors etc, had Infopass meetings ... still no action. I think with some of the comments here on your approval, I am not surprised, I mean we are all human. It's natural to compare the timelines and be frustrated. So the reaction is not towards you getting your approval so fast but more of a reflection on how long the rest of us are having to wait. I am 100% sure a vast majority of the posters are just frustrated with their own pending applications than being unhappy your faster approval. I've noticed a few other cases that have been approved rather quickly. Sorry I don't know all the details. My fiance was at the meeting. But there was a large number, of new trainees being released into the fold who would speed up the process... I'll try to find out. I didn't think it would take effect so soon.
