We didn't ever get one... our petition ended up in at least 3 different places and the cheque wasn't banked until May... but we've talked to VSC and they said they had everything they needed... that was in August. Nothing further.. we have an Infopass appointment for this Friday. We filed 18 March... but never received NOA1 - cheque wasn't banked until May... my US fiance has made calls to them and they said our file was scattered. The Tier 2 called all parts in, said they had everything they needed and requested an expedite since it was in such a mess but that was in August - nothing else has happened. He called again last week and they set up an Infopass appointment for next Friday. I guess we'll know more then. Well, there are differences between Tier 2 and Infopass, but then it seems if you talk to a Tier 2 they have access to same info as Infopass - and Tier 2 is only a phone call. Though I guess its easier to deal with someone in person (as in Infopass)... just sick of waiting. Anyway... yes I'm a foodie. Unfortunately where I'm living now, I don't have much of a kitchen - I used to love cooking, but I don't have space or facilities so much at the moment - most things are in storage. My fiance called last week and they told him they would make an infopass appointment and send an appointment card, which they have done. I regret that I didn't get my tourist visa before applying for K-1 :/ now I'm done with the university and just waiting for a miracle... and I could spend 3 monyhs in the US if I had a tourist visa :/ but instead I sit at home, cry, sleep, cry, get bitchy.. ehhh what a mistake... I am so happy for all the visits. Reading your posts brought smile onto my face You may have been turned back at POE anyway if you have insufficient ties ... that's the situation I'm stuck in, since I'm not working. I would have been if I'd known I would be waiting so long, but all along the wait, there hasn't really been any way of knowing how long I could commit to any available job. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	March (2012) filers...	yes... sometimes its not so much fun living down here at the bottom of the world... flying and layover time between us is around 24hrs.. but I don't have sufficient ties here anymore and can't get a visa and he can't leave his work, dogs etc..just too complicated. If we'd known it would take so long we probably would have organised something, but who would have thought it would be such a long time apart. It'll help with the next few months of waiting. Made it a year apart. This short visit will rejuvenate and calm us while we wait a few more months. For the first time in several long weeks, I feel stress free. Leaving next week. Woohoo!! Oh that's great... hopefully things will move ahead in the meantime and then you'll be busy getting everything else done. Yeah!!! Enjoy and savor your visit. My fiance is so much more relaxed and Im your typical virgo- over analyzing and thinking about everything in advance. I know its only worse for me, but I cant help it. I really want to be there with my love before Xmass. I hope for the same for me- visa in my hands in two months from now, pretty pls. This sounds all so familiar. We are upside down on our time zones too.. I call him before I go to sleep - my wake up call when he is waking up for work. We talk in his lunch break and then after work until he goes to sleep. I'm wanting to be there for Xmas too. 21 mths apart, we just live together online - I missed the music part of today's thread but we have lots of music we listen to together. We like all kinds of music and he sends me whatever suits the moment, often just to help me through... I must have listened to Lionel Richie's "Love will find a Way" a thousand times...lol. This is the first time I have dealt with the Federal Government aside from paying taxes and getting a passport... I never knew things could be this bad in the age of computers... We need someone in VSC who cares about people, individually, ... and would make it their job to handle these types of cases... their isn't anyone who cares Yes you're right ... and as long as there is no accountability, there is no reliable system. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	March (2012) filers...	Well I've an update for my fellow waiters. My Service Request had expired yesterday, so I waited for my lunch break and called from my car. Of course, that first person told me she would check, put me on hold, and came back saying "They are only processing before February 27th." I then listed off recent approvals from yesterday: 3/15, 3/20 x2, 3/21 x3, 3/23, 3/26, 4/2. There was silence, so I said, "Please transfer me to someone who can help me and not read off a card." She put me on hold for 10 minutes, and I got the Tier 2, but it was for Spanish speaking people. She said it was no problem, she also spoke English, although I could barely understand her. I explained what was happening. She put me on hold. She came back and claimed they had emailed me on Sept. 14th that I was still within normal processing times. I asked her if she considered 7 months ordinary. She said, "No." I then told her we still had a problem. Even though they emailed me on Sept. 14th, it was now Sept. 27th, and I am now 203 days out. She put me on hold again, and came back to say, unbelievably, "They are only processing before February 27th." I then called her a liar, and rolled off the same dates just processed yesterday. She paused, then told me the VSC email address to write to, and list my Service Request Tracking Number as the Subject, for that is what they would use to look it up. So, I wrote out a lengthy email to them and got the auto-response that it was received. Since my second wind was up, I then wrote to my congresswoman for a third time, instilling in her that she should help her poor voting constituent, giving screen shots of VJ processing times, Igor's List of both CSC and VSC. I doubt any of those will really help. But I feel better for unleashing some of this frustration back to the very cause of it. Once again, none of the files on my stack have been touched at all. Have I mentioned I hate VSC? Oh Nooo!! that is just awful... It doesnt make any sense at all. I have seen another one just posted today for Mar 30. The really bad thing is that they continue to spin out the Feb 27th thing which is just so out of date. So sorry to hear you had to put up with this and in reality, you must be close to getting approved. I would be calling to get a different (english speaking) Tier 2. Call enter workers see exactly what we see, and no more. Thanks for clarifying .. that's what I thought - someone mentioned something earlier and it confused me... Oh well the bottom line is we have done all we can then. Now waiting for them to send us an Infopass apptment card (don't know if that'll help). Just want some timeline so I know we're not lost in space forever. So stressful I've become OCD about all this - horrible how it dominates almost every second - its a wonder I don't go out dressed in pyjamas ! Edited by Andie, 27 September 2012 - 01:42 PM. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	March (2012) filers...	Thank you everyone... We met in primary school in NZ - his dad is an American and his mother was a NZer. They came to live in NZ and we were in a very small school where everyone knew everyone. We always got on really well and as we grew up we were great friends though never dated and went to different high schools, didn't see each other so much. We lost contact and he started travelling at about 18. He found me online many years later in 2009 via my brother - we had both been married, had kids, were on our own again and I made 3 trips to see him in 2010. On the third visit I was held up in immigration for 5 hours. I had worked all my life, but had taken time out and hadn't been working for several months by then. They told me to apply for a B visa if I planned to return. I had sufficient funds to support myself and didn't realise it was becoming so complicated. I applied for a visa but was denied due to the fact I didn't have a job or proof with me of sufficient ties to my country. We had talked about getting married on the last visit, but I guess we were just cruising along and just assumed we would be together. After the visa denial he proposed on Valentines Day (2011), since we didn't ever want to be apart again. He sent in the petition, but left out some supporting docs. Everything was there, it was just a silly mistake, made while in a rush and keen to get the paperwork underway. We hadn't found VJ by then and didn't really have a structured plan to follow. He waited for the NOA1, and sent a copy of it with the rest of the documents. After 5 months we were denied since our two lots of papers were never connected - I have since seen others on here that were given an RFE, but it can go either way. We tried in the following months to get it sorted out but with that failing and with other 'life/home' issues - we sent another petition in March. That is the one that we are working with now and they lost information. It has now all been found and put together. Everything with that petition was 'perfect' - nothing missing at all. OMG! They should have moved you to the front of the line just for their mistake!! Did they offer to push you through faster or tell you "5 months"? They have since said that they would fast track it but that was several weeks ago and still nothing. I agree that the difficult part is not knowing - it would be great to know that you can depend on updates early on and that they could confirm they have all the information they need to work with. It is an overloaded and broken system, but that part is totally out of our control. We send each other care packages and I talk to him almost every day in his lunch break and every day after work for at least 2 hours. On weekends we talk longer and talk while he is food shopping etc. We discovered early on that we had even travelled the same roads in the US and Canada at about the same time in our late teens, early twenties without knowing it then. We were only within a few hours apart at least once on the same roads in BC when I was 20. We are sure we are meant to be together. It will happen ..(soon pleeeeeeeeeese???) I haven't participated on this thread very much at all, but I read it at least once a day and know how you are all feeling because I am going through the same emotions. Our story is long and involved and at present just waiting and waiting. There is no reason why we should be denied at all, but our petition was lost, we didn't ever get an NOA1, the cheque was finally banked in May. We contacted them several times over that period. Eventually got someone who actually did something and found our file, it was in different places, somehow split up. She put it together and said that they seemed to have everything they needed. Weeks, months have gone by and nothing further in spite of all that. We are just in a waiting game now. We have been apart for 21 months - we text and talk for at least 2 hours a day. I am not working - never expected to be so long apart and not a lot of opportunity for short term contracts in my case. Anyway, it has given me opportunity to do some things I haven't had time for in the past and with the help of you all I try to stay positive. I am sure there will be a lot of approvals here very soon, when everyone can move on to the lives already planned. Thank you for the support I receive from reading your posts...
