When did you two met? Where was he born? Are his parents alive? (only his Mom is) What's her name? Have you met her? Have you met her husband? Where are they living? Where is my fiance working? how does he get to work? (by car) What car does he have? What is normally is work schedule? Shouldn't it be first come/first serve? Crazy. "bots..." Too funny!!! Don't let the Initial Review discourage you. Many files show Initial Review after their approval and beyond. They don't seem to worry too much about updating the status - its nice if it does reflect what's really going on, but it isn't at all reliable. California SC is moving super fast for many which is not a lot of fun for those going through Texas .. Texas is always much slower.. 5mths seems to be pretty much average at present.  Checking the Case Status is addictive but its often not updated and can remain in "Initial Review" for the entire process and long after you've even been approved in some cases.  You may be pretty close to hearing some time soon. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Texas Service Center - Who has gotten a fast approval for K-1?	It has been the same situation for a long time now.  We have a long complicated story, but initially when I joined VJ,  CSC was always much quicker than Vermont.. 3+ years ago.  The workload is obviously quite different, but it is depressing to watch if you are at Texas.  The threads almost need to be separated on that basis as I continually see the pain felt by those at TSC.  It is quite a different scenario.  It shouldn't take so long.  Once you have made a decision to spend the rest of your life with another person, if you meet the criteria, the approval should be quick.  I don't have the answer.. Yes , we got noa1   There is definitely a huge discrepancy between Texas and California but 5 months seems to be about average for Texas at present.  As far as the Case Status goes.. it is not reliable because they are often not updated and I have known of many who have never had a touch on their status and have been approved and long gone and still nothing.  It can't hurt to make a call and see how your case is looking if you can get to talk to a Tier 2 and otherwise just hang in there.. it can't be far off.     (Around a year ago Texas was running at about 8 months so things arent looking so bad now). How is pointing out that those at TSC have it worse?   How is that helpful?   Each center marches to their own drum and TSC is further delayed than CSC... How is inserting the fact the you have to wait  longer helpful or relevant to those being processed at CSC?   How was your post relevant to anything then... everyone has their own set of circumstances and others deserve respect too.. it is what it is..  a waiting game and by all accounts you haven't been waiting that long. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	March 2011 Filers..	Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays, Andie, RK and all! RK - Yes the embassy has been nice to us, although I did let the previous K-1 chief know I didn't appreciate how they handled some things. Even now there's some unnerving issues that came up but I'm fighting and handling them the best I can. Just to give you a hint, I've taken up learning hypnosis. Yes Andie, what RK said, hold on and I'm glad you'll be meet Kevin in Canada! That for sure will give you the strength and motivation to keep up the fight! Well now back in NZ from Canada... I had a couple of days with my brother in BC and flew on to Ontario. We were foiled by the snow storms over in the east when Kevin was held up for a day and my flight was delayed. BUT we did have some time together and wondered how we had survived so long apart. Anyway, we are trying to chase things again. I came back through BC again and had a few more days there before coming back to NZ. Exhausted with all the flying but we are even more motivated and ready for the next battle. I read your subseqeunt post about the date being next year sometime but still the fact that you were able to schedule again is great news!! And, yes, Inday and I are doing well. Visa journey-wise, Inday has her work authorization card, AP travel document, still waiting for AOS. Personal-wise, Inday is settling into life in the U.S.A. but most days still discovers something new and/or surprising about this country and culture. :-) -RK That's so nice... good to hear your process and documents are moving along well RK and that things are working out well for you both. Still no updates on our case number but we are meeting up in Canada in about 10 days time - I have a brother in BC and will spend a couple of days with him before flying on to Ontario. Kevin is going to meet me there. We don't have long together, because he's trying to save days for when we are approved (how's that for staying positive). It has been a matter of some quick planning but it has given us a boost to get through the next stage until we hear something from USCIS. We can't really believe it, but I'm leaving NZ on the 26th so still have lots to do. Well at the Infopass appointment he was told they had chased our file and had requested that we get a case number straight away. We still don't have a case number but should get one in the next few days. So with any luck, after about 9mths we will finally be allocated our A#. They don't seem to like to say too much about what we should expect, so whether anything has been done about requesting an approval, I have no idea, but at least we will have some identity instead of just a stack of papers gathering dust. We have already been told by 3 different supervisors that they have everything that we needed to send - but I have given up trying to speculate. Hope things are going well for everyone. A. I'm going to be going over to Cyprus and its really really going to get done this time! Andie, I hope you are seeing some light at the end of the loooong dark creepy USCIS tunnel? Wow Looky.. hadn't seen this - so exciting!! It's a real leap ahead !! I guess we wont know when it is, but very best of luck and wishes - be sure to let us know - you of all people deserve success He is still to-ing and fro-ing with phone messages with the Field office. He calls and only gets answerphone message - they call back when he's working and can't take calls. He has left messages for them to give him a detailed message asking what it is they need - but nothing so far. He is talking about getting an Immigration Lawyer he has spoken to involved, but it shouldn't need that at this point. I don't know if they are able to approve from there, but it sounded as though that was where it was heading. I've wasted so much of my life - been unemployed thinking it wasn't going to take this long and work not so easy to get anyway. Unable to commit to any length of time... so essentially just waiting. Just about had enough. Anyway, I know how things are with you and Loreta and some of what you've been through, and you know it is meant to be. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	March 2011 Filers..	Oh Andie, so sorry that all this mess has turned your case into a tangled spiderweb. They've built USCIS like an assembly line with the adjucators given specific steps, and if the steps get out of sequence they don't know how to handle it. So it sounds like your case was too outside of bounds for them to be able to handle. But hopefully the local office has finally straightened out the mess and your case finally starts moving towards the finish line. , As for us, we're doing fine. Loreta is one step closer to her memory recovery. She remembers how and where we met but not everything we've done. I think it'll all come back to her in her next session on Friday. Don't I know it... I can tell you that there was nothing missing from our second petition last March... it was perfect, and the mix up with 2011 wasn't anticipated. We're in the same boat as you and Loreta in the sense that we know this is meant to be and that we should be together.. what a cruel system. Happy to hear that Loreta is continuing to improve. I know these things can be slow and in fact she is doing exceptionally well by all accounts. For us, I have days when I wonder if love will defy adversity.. but it has to, as with you and Loreta. Its what we both want and though the days seem so long sometimes we have to keep up the fight... looking forward to more good news - it sounds like her progress is going so well. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	March 2011 Filers..	Well the latest is that the local office has put the paperwork back in order (again). It seems that every time someone looks at our file they get confused with the 2011 and the 2012 petition and don't know which bits go with which. They have said that if we didn't call to make sure everything was ok, that they wouldn't have looked at the 2011 and that the 2012 would have been worked on without confusion. However, we didn't ever get an NOA1 for the 2012 so no case number - we didn't know whether they had everything or not. The local office is now forwarding details to VSC (I think) to explain it, so they can go ahead and work on our 2012 petition. I have no idea how long this will take. Next step we will get a case number and we can request an expedite then - that doesn't mean we will get one, but so many people have looked at it, surely something has to happen soon	Andie	Female	New Zealand	2012-10-20 14:58:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	March 2011 Filers..	Hi Andie, things look real good as of today. Loreta went to see that hypnotist and she felt like she was dreaming about her childhood. She remembered her grade school and school friends and old memories like that. There was nothing recent that she remembered about Cyprus except she did remember places she had worked there. When the Dr. brought her out she felt a little dizzy. Also after I asked her about whether she rembembered certain things she felt a little dizzy. I guess her mind finally remembering things that she couldn't before is a bit of a daunting excercise. Anyway there's no doubt that she will recover from her memory loss but, we're going to take it slow. Her next session is next Friday. That's great Looky ... I have heard good things about hypnotherapy in the past and I'm just delighted that Loreta has already shown some benefits from it. Things are looking really hopeful. It must be so confusing for her, but things will improve as she progresses with it. On our side, Kevin had a call from the local office and it turns out that the file was a combination of our 2011 and our 2012 petitions. The woman said that was causing the problem, but I know that a few months ago that was sorted out - the last supervisor must have mixed them up again Anyway, Kevin explained it all again and said that it should be clear from the dates on the documents, but that we had already been told that they had everything they needed in the new petition, so it should all be there. She said she would keep working on it and was emailing him today - he doesn't finish work till late at night at present, so is going to check when he gets home. I'm hoping she mentions an expedite as we have already been told that they could do that and it is their error this time round.
