K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWhat month tx is processing (k1 visa) ???

Good for you...I wish you luck.

My glass is half empty now that I am past 6 months (181 days today) and draining fast.

I hope you have better luck than I and several January and remaining February filers have had with this miserable process.

Agree.. that's not a happy looking timeline . you're pretty active on this site.. have you called and talked to a Tier 2 or anyone?  It's got to be close surely...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHow much time has to pass before filing I-129F inquiry?

The website says 6 months and when checking the requirements for Ombudsman, it said nothing beyond what instructed, so as far as I am concerned, I am outside normal processing times now.  Others have had success with their representatives and were nowhere near 6 months so it is a roll of the dice and a matter of whether yours want to work for you or not.  I am going to try rather than sit on my butt waiting another month or two.  Screw that.

I will also provide adequate data backing up my claim that December 31st is a bogus number.  We see hundreds of Jan-April filers here at VJ to debunk that claim.

At this point, it can't hurt.

Sorry to hear that... it sounds more like what I would expect from a Tier 1.  The standard responses etc. Some can be more helpful than others.   I would try again maybe earlier in the day when the wait time is shorter.  It shouldn't be this difficult.. but seems to be.

Just bringing it to the attention of a Tier 2 is the thing.. they can see where you are up to and how long you've waited.  You have probably spoken by now.. I hope they have made some progress on your behalf.

A tier one usually doesn't have any relevant information or make any reference to your specific file... in my experience.  If you ask to speak to a Tier 2 they will usually look at your files and can be more specific and/or take action to get things moving.  You've been waiting more than 5 months.  I would think you are due for a result.  If nothing happens in 2 weeks then definitely call again.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHow much time has to pass before filing I-129F inquiry?

Does anyone know how much time has to pass before being able to file an inquiry? Looking at the average processing times on USCIS, along with their little write up about "please wait for 6 months before filing an inquiry" my case is beyond both of them. The website still won't let me file an inquiry though. When I fill in all the information it says that my case has not passed the required processing time. Would just like some insight as to what that processing time actually is, considering the inquiry page says 6 months...

Yes definitely... and also as mentioned make sure you get through to a Tier 2.  Good luck !  (let us know)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWhen to expect NOA2

I read that as not many people are updating their timelines when they are approved.  It does make it difficult to get any reasonable idea of wait times...  :(

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsPeople from Julye getting transferred?? Or not?

I think most of those random hit or miss are people who don't understand the process. They think the service center is the lockbox and their petition was "transferred" when all it did was get initially routed. To be honest, I understand some people are confused. I read through this forum a lot before I actually filed and I don't think everyone does that, hence the confusion.

  ... I agree.. this comes up quite a lot and looks like TSC is randomly approving petitions, when it is just the Lockbox/TSC confusion thing.

I know this is totally off-topic, but Andie... I am SO sorry that you are still not done with this process. I remember you from the March 2012 filers thread. Keeping my fingers crossed that it'll work this time, and that you two will be together soon!!

Hi there, and yes I remember you from March 2012... it was a great group.  Good to see you are progressing up the ladder.  Its a journey alright !

Unfortunately I do have the Igor's List addiction and it's driving me nuts already.

All the best to you both as well.   (F)

TSC is looking pretty sick lately on Igor's list.. Up till a couple of weeks ago things were moving, but having slipped back and only a couple of small steps forward leaves us about neutral... and  its getting depressing.  Is that an accurate assessment of the current state of things or aren't many people completing their timelines?

I'd prefer to think it was the latter/

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMay 2014 filers - TEXAS SERVICE CENTER

We're approved!!! Just got our text.

Just this morning we heard back from our Congressman's office (after over a month!) that it was "delayed due to background checks issues" (sic) -- which seeing as it was within the normal processing time, I don't know why they would call it delayed --and that it was with an officer for final adjudication now. And we got the approval text the same night!

I guess the CSC transfers must be making a difference at TSC. Good luck to those who're waiting for their news. Stay strong.

Hey Congratulations!!...  see.. all that stress for nothing.. lol !!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMay 2014 filers - TEXAS SERVICE CENTER

There seems to have been a lot of confusion about timing.. location etc.  The petitions always go to the Dallas Lockbox... from there they are sent to California or Texas Service Centre depending on (roughly), which side of the country the USC is petitioning from.  So all petitions go to the Texas Lockbox and are then sent on to whichever service centre applies for their state.  California has for at least 3 years now been much quicker than Texas.  There have been various explanations but basically the workload is less or the focus more on K1 visas in CSC and therefore the processing time is much quicker.  In many ways it is better to have a separate thread.. it gets pretty disheartening to watch CSC approve in two weeks when Texas seems to be taking around 5 months.  It has been much worse... up to 8 and 9 months or more from Texas to NVC not that long ago.

We have been in the system for some time now....health issues, you name it.  It has turned into a very very long journey and its not easy, but it will be worth it.  Posting new dates very soon... but we are May filers...  Best wishes to you all  ... don't worry, this will be a distant memory before you know it.    :clock:

I don't know if anyone is else is as obsessive as I am about checking the processing times, but it looks like TSC is speeding ahead. They just did 6 days worth of visas in one day. Fingers crossed that it stays this way!

  guilty !

I'm mainly watching Igor's list but because so many people don't update their timeline its difficult to get a true picture.... but it was slow and now picked up in the last couple of days...so something is happening.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAUGUST 2014 K-1 FILERS (TSC)

Quick question.
On USCIS website there is a stuff that we can creat an account and can get update.
But my fiancé filed with G1145.....
Should I make n account so I can personally get update? Or it's not necessary cos we already filed with G1145?

The G1145 is to inform you that your petition has been received.. so you know it actually got there and into the system.

If you look on your profile there is a box under the timeline section that states Edit/View and USCIS.  If you click on the USCIS Case Status check it will link you to the site.  You put in your number and it will show you the status.

So for now it probably says "initial review" ...  Keep in mind that these aren't always updated immediately and sometimes not at all.. but it gives you something to look at and check when you want to.  You should be informed as soon as something happens/changes anyway, but that is often not the case.  (After you put your number in it is saved so it is quicker for you to access after that).

Hope you're not waiting too long  (F)

I also just looked at my email (versus the text message I was sent) and we were transferred to the California service center. This seems to be a good thing... Shorter processing times?

Yes Illinois petitions are sent to California after they have been received by the Dallas Lockbox.  So you are a CSC Filer.  They have been moving faster but some of the TSC files were sent there recently so its hard to say what will happen from here.. All the best with your journey anyway

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAUGUST 2014 K-1 FILERS (TSC)

For you August 2014 filers, I am an August 2013 filer.  I remember the same excitement I had when receiving my NOA 1, and the agony of month after month passing to receive our NOA 2, almost 9 months later.  Hope and excitement gets you through the process, but keep your expectations realistic.  Otherwise, you will begin to think something is wrong with your application and cause more stress.  For some of us, it just takes a longer time for USCIS to process our requests.

We were approved at our interview on August 11.  Now we are just waiting for the actual Visa and Passport to be returned for travel.  It's been about three weeks, but we were just recently told this is the normal waiting time coming from the US Embassy in Honduras.  So, a little longer for us to wait.  But, I am confident things will work out for us, just as I am confident all of you will be successful as well.

That's Great !   must be such a great feeling to get to that point.  Congratulations

I can only think she didn't include a Letter of Intent to Marry within the 90 days following arrival in the US.  The fee is USD340 so not sure what the 650 is for unless that is local currency equivalent from where she is applying from. I've always thought that if you didn't send payment that they immediately rejected the petition.  Does that sound like what has happened here?

(Both the petitioner and the foreign fiance(e)  have to provide a Letter of intent.. maybe they only sent one....?

Hi there,

Your petition was not transferred.  It was simply routed from the Texas lockbox (where everyone sends their petitions) to CSC.  You live in California so the CSC was going to process your petition anyway.  You are probably looking at a 3 - 4 month wait for your NOA2 but it is difficult to accurately predict the actual time.

...oh  it took  3 weeks to get it from the lockbox to CSC....  that was slow?

AndieFemaleNew Zealand2014-09-12 03:49:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAugust 2014 filers

Yes that is pretty odd.  And as has been said, they transferred TSC petitions to CSC because of the overload or lack of speed or whatever.  To do a reverse of that doesn't make sense at all.

As far as the 'restless and going nuts'  ... I can identify with that one.

AndieFemaleNew Zealand2014-09-07 02:10:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAugust 2014 filers

Has any August or late July filers received NOA2 yet?

Yes July and some early August.  Philippines were expedited owing to humanitarian reasons as happens following earthquakes, typhoons etc.  Military deployment is another reason.  Other than that its pretty much the luck of the draw so long as it is within the guidelines.  You can get some idea by following these links ... and try and keep busy so you're not thinking about it constantly ... not the easiest thing to do that's for sure.  Hope the wait isn't too long.  You're at CSC.. it's usually quicker than Texas.

You are right. It's way too soon.
It's just that I have noticed some early Jul filers have their NOA2s within 17-19 days after their NOA1.

They are possibly CSC filers.. (processed through California Service Center) or Philippines applicant which are very often expedited or others that may have had a special case which was expedited.....   or just very lucky.

AndieFemaleNew Zealand2014-08-31 01:11:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsJuly filers at TSC

When the production rates of each centre are so obviously uneven it amazes me that some states that come under TSC workload aren't permanently reallocated to CSC.  There are either more adjudicators or some other reason that they are able to get through a greater volume of petitions in less time.  All petitions are received at the Dallas Lockbox and then forwarded from there... surely that is the opportunity to even things out.  Great if (at the moment) you're through CSC but totally unfair for TSC petitioners.

AndieFemaleNew Zealand2014-10-05 16:34:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsJuly filers at TSC

About the Case Status... it is not totally reliable.  I have known of many people who have remained in "Initial Review"  way after they are married and long gone.  It isn't always updated. Being on a thread like this is a good way to assess similar cases with similar time frames, and maybe take a look at the June one to get some idea of how things are moving.  Even Igor's list is not always updated.  People often don't complete their timeline once they are approved.  They get caught up in the excitement of it all and moving on to the next steps and forget about it.

Look forward to the things you have planned... the rest will happen in time and every day is another day closer to your goal.

No we haven't but that's pretty common.  I wouldn't worry about it yet... I think you get notified with the NOA2 anyway.   Having said that I told myself I wouldn't check my Case Status for at least 3 or 4 months but it's already become an almost daily habit even though I know we're way off.    :reading:

Great ! ...  I couldn't believe there wasn't a dedicated TSC one but there didn't seem to be an ongoing one anyway.  I'm realistic about the differences in the time frame so this makes it easier to get a true comparison.   All the best to you guys and let's hope the wait isn't too long.
