IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	CONFUSED ABOUT NEW I-864 FORM?	You have until June 22, 2013. Starting June 23, 2013 you must use new form. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	CONFUSED ABOUT NEW I-864 FORM?	Hey guys, so I saw this on the USCIS webpage: Edition Date: 03/22/13. USCIS will accept previous editions dated 09/19/11 until June 23, 2013. After June 23, 2013, USCIS will only accept the 03/22/13 edition. And I'm totally confused because I sent my petition in January, can I still send the old AOS I-864 form? Because I'm in the NVC stage now and if I get lucky they'll have my case # and invoice me the AOS bill by next week, so that's why I'm confused. Please help! Thanks! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	CAN I PAY THE AOS BILL EVEN THOUGH MY SISTER WILL BE THE AOS FOR MY HUSBAND?	as long as it is a US bank account, anyone can pay the fee.  One of my friends paid it for our case (early b-day gift).  If you mean that your sister is the co-sponsor, you are aware that you are the primary sponsor and have to fill out and submit paperwork, as well, I hope. Do not send new i864 (AOS)	NVC doesn't know how to process this new form and all that are submitted are placed on hold, soo as of now now send the old version   My AOS is on hold now...   Just got off the phone with homeland security their telling me they don't know why NVC is telling me this just the format has changed and they will contact them and let me know in 3 to 5 days..   If they do contact you, would you please post it and let us know what they told you! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	October 2013 Filers	Hey guys, how is everyone doing   ..  I have heard people say that USCIS started processing the cases much faster after the shut down.   We sent our package on the 23rd of October and on Nov 6th my fiancee's alien number has changed   I am soo grateful and happy. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Middle name Spelling different on Marriage Certificate than Birth Certificate	I am recently married and in the process of putting together documents required to submit the I-30.. I've noticed a minor difference in the spelling of my middle name (an "E" where and "i" should be) on my marriage certificate in comparison to my birth certificate. My Canadian passport does not include my middle name. We were married in Florida and the fee to make this change will be approximately $500 plus several weeks processing time. Will the minor difference be an issue in the filing of the CR-1, is it worth the $$ and putting off mailing in the I-30 (we would like to get the ball rolling as soon as possible). We are about to submit our i-130 package but would like to know if the copy of my husbands (the petitioner) passport is mandatory or is the copy of his naturalization certificate sufficient. He has recently become a US citizen and is about to apply for his passport. However, we would like to mail the package ASAP. Should we wait for his passport to arrive prior to sending off the i-130? It says that they will do Direct Consular Filing for US Citizens and they don't have to be legal residents. That means you can file the I-130 directly with the consulate which means you skip over USCIS. If that might work with your plans, then look into it. Good luck Andie. Thanks so much Looky... Are you sure that your girl will age out, is there no way to extend the age limit on the count of extenuating circumstances or something? Would the age limit be different if he filed the I-130 for you if you got married? I mean what if in this letter they give you some option to resubmit new evidence. I mean what will you do? What you are saying is that you have to stay with your girl but then where does that leave you and your man? I don't know this sounds like a terrible situation, I hope the best for you and hope you will find some way out. Best wishes to you! Yes Looky, we are devastated. Everything seemed to be going so well and approvals for our NOA1 date were coming through. I had all the paperwork for the rest of the process in hand and had contacted everyone to see what was possible in terms of completing the process. I had visions of us running for the plane that would get us there just in time to land on US soil. As far as I know the child option isn't possible on an I-130 so we decided to do it this way. Maybe they will give us the option to resubmit new evidence but I don't think they can freeze the aging out. As for the future, we are trying to figure it out. We met as little kids at school in NZ. He went travelling at the age of 17 and ended up back in the US. By coincidence we met up online in 2009 and spent most of 2010 together, and didn't know about the lengthy process involved or we would have done the K1/K2 sooner. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	March 2011 Filers..	Hey guys... happy for all of you that things are moving... You may have read my fiance's post about our situation... basically a disaster! We have been denied without RFE - we haven't had the letter yet so don't know the full details but probably because though we sent the initial petition with some of the supporting docs... some had been inadvertently left out(still don't know how this happened). We sent those as soon as we had the NOA1 reference # so it would hopefully connect with our original packet. Some people have had success with this. Anyway long story short it doesn't seem to have done so and my daughter ages out next month. She can't stay here in NZ on her own for any extended time so our options are very limited. Just thought I should let you know that our file has had a response but it wasn't the one we wanted. We have very few petitions from here in NZ so the embassy and medical could have been done very quickly. Now with NVC slowing up.. yes, it would have come down to days or even hours but it was possible. Anyway I'll keep looking in on you guys to see how you are doing... I have only posted like once on this thread but advidly "watch" from the sidelines, however today I needed to touch some others who are going through the same waiting game. Today is day 1 of our estimated adjudication date according to our VJ timeline, (actually I just checked and they changed date to 14th so I guess this is the 2nd day) and I am going nuts! I am like a psychopath constantly checking status on USCIS website, my fiance swears I am causing the universe to delay NOA2 cause I worry too much, LOL. I miss him so much, this is tough, but I know soon we will be together...sigh. Thanks for listening to my rant Yes isn't this such a weird process... one minute you think you're doing ok and the next you go into total panic !! OMG, bless you USCIS adjucator, you could have been really nit picky about all the other stuff but you weren't and you gave me a simple Get Out Of Jail Free card and Pass Go and collect a fortune in gold while you're at it!!! Most people usually get the text and/or email, the system has problems so for some people it doesn't work at all and for others it works a little. Don't let this stage freak you out, the bulk of them haven't been approved yet. Ok thanks Looky... I don't have any faith in the Case Status option... so I compensate by having the odd 'really scary' day. Hope your move is going well and you're settling in to the new apartment now that you are through the period of withdrawal from the internet. Good times ahead... I guess they did an internal transfer? Yes all petitions initially go to Texas and they forward them to either Vermont or California. The state the petitioner is from determines which one it goes to.
