K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTo B2 or not to B2
The main issue is that she needs to be able to show proof of ties to the UK. She needs return tickets, a job (which if she is planning to be away for 3months she probably doesn't have), a house or rental agreement etc. It could be tricky establishing that she plans to return even though she obviously she needs to return for her interview. Many others have had this same problem.

I understood that it was more a matter of being familiar with what information your fiance(e) had told them regarding your history together so you had no surprises at your interview and could answer any questions they might have.

Thanks, Lor is the person in the states, I'm the one stuck in wet old england.

All this thanks to job losses and the market making it hard to find anything other than basic wages!

You will need a co-sponsor then unless you are planning to wait until she finds a job that pays enough to sponsor you.

.. and by the way.. Its been raining where I live in NZ for weeks now too. Its no fun !

No you wont be denied on the basis that you are currently unemployed. If your co-sponsor earns comfortably enough to cover their household plus your fiance(e)as required by the poverty guidelines requirement you will be fine.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresi need help on how to start filing k1 visa
As above read the K1 Guide... and if you read posts on here and ask any questions for things you need advice on you will be fine. Your fiance needs to do the same since he will be completing all the initial forms (I-129F). Also if you have any questions do a search (top of this page on right) as many people have probably already asked the same questions. Best of luck.

I'm at the airport right now...alone. I just spent 9 wonderful days with Matt, but I have to go back without him. This flight is long & lonesome cuz there is no contact. I hate it. I'm hoping we get our NOA2 soon...that would help perk me up. I can't stop crying...I hate saying goodbye.

Great that you had a wonderful time and of course this part isn't easy...so just think that you'll be planning the next stage and your future when you won't have to do this part anymore.  Things are moving faster than they have been... hope you get your NOA2 soon... (F)

Wendy,

Thanks, at least someone read my post and remembered it.,.,.,.,GLAD.,.it helped your hope, hope is coming, not sure when but quicker for sure.

Julie+Matt,  Cannot reveal my source, might need to know something else important in the future.

Andie,   Have no idea what you are saying.,.,.,.,"I SAID IT".,.,.,., 2 weeks ago!  Duh!

Ayla_42,   I predicted two weeks ago through my USCIS source that "what is happening, would happen"..,.,.,.,a speed up in TSC filers.

Moderators:  I big thanks to you for your acknowledgements of a "two week ago prediction" of what was going to happen at TSC. NOT!!  Not one moderator said a word!  They are way too busy "s__________g" people, for most of the time "nothing!"

CAUTION:  I am not sure how long this will last at TSC, as soon as they are caught up, might go back to the same BS.,.,.,I do not know, it would be the same people working, and an ever increasing work load, we will see!  If I find out, will let you know.

Oh gee did I ever deny that... I thought I did make reference to it in at least one of my posts... though I never did read the actual post... does it really matter.  The point is that some people will not be waiting as long as expected.  I don't know the details and don't pretend to.. If it was in your original post then maybe you should restore it.. just so every one is clear and doesn't offend you.

who knows ?.. we dont really know what percentage have been transferred, but its going to lighten the load at TSC.. no one seems to have been told where they've been transferred to... I dont know if Vermont is an option... people are only mentioning CSC.  Whatever it is.. it will make things quicker at TSC.  There are still Jan/Feb/Mar filers at TSC that are still waiting so there is a lot of catching up to do, but its a move for the better at TSC.  We may know more in the next few days.. I'll be watching.

Well, please don't forget about us January, February and March filers.  We have been waiting a little longer :)

It does mean you will have a shorter wait but they will get to you when done with us.  Unless they forget about us :(

No... I was thinking they would be starting to work on yours now anyway.. .  there has to have been some sort of action and plan (we hope) behind this recent move.  It seems as if the disparity between the two centers has been brought to someone's attention ... lets hope it works out for us all and soon... I just want to get on with life as it is meant to be, not eight thousands miles apart.

Ohh thank you!!

Do you think they would do the June filers too? Or would they stick with May as the ending date for the transfers?

I really dont know..its a good start anyway.  If they clear April/May by forwarding them to CSC or where ever they have gone.. then it means TSC can get on to June/July/August.  I haven't seen this happen before but TSC are definitely way behind and there has been recent pressure for them to do something.  It is really unfair to have such a discrepancy between the two service centers.. so I guess we just have to take this as a major step forward and look out for some serious approvals in the coming weeks..   its good news.. great news !!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsIf You Have Been Transferred...Please Post Here (K-1)

I think this is the post that was referred to.... hot topic for the last day or so...

Not ONE poster remembers my prediction of less than 2 weeks ago, that this was going to happen.,.,.I told you I had a solid source in USCIS,.,.,and my prediction seems to be coming true.,.,,where you are transferred, not sure, it would be a guess.,.,.,but I think I know.

Moderators can confirm this prediction.,.,.,.,

My source at USCIS remains "solid!"

USCIS has advised several members that their files have been transferred.  So far these seem to be April and May petitioners.  This indicates that they are trying to clear the backlog owing to major delays at TSC.  As far as I am aware they haven't advised where the transfers have been sent, but it is interpreted that they maybe sending them to CSC to clear the backlog.  This would mean that all TSC filers from months following the May files will also be bumped forward and hopefully catch up to CSC.. or closer anyway..  You can look out for the threads talking about it.

Its great news for TSC filers !!!...   finally ...

I am sure there are a lot who get approved and then wing it from there without updating their profiles.  We're later, but keeping an eye on June/July in anticipation.  The CSC transfer has caused a lot of confusion.  Hang in there anyway, it can't be too far off ... you are next in line and I live in hope for some activity soon.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsK1 July 2014 Filers

As far as the RFE goes... you wont know until it is looked at with the purpose of checking your information and approving the I-129F or not.  If there is something not too serious missing you will (or should) get an RFE.  The sooner you deal with it and return the requested info, the better.  They should then take another look at it and make a decision within a fairly short time regarding approval or otherwise.

The wait time is pretty much down to whether you have an expedite for evacuation from a country following earthquake/severe weather causing serious danger to life; military deployment or other special circumstances giving your case some urgent priority.  And there is also the processing speed difference between TSC or CSC.

You can get some indication from other cases that are similar to yours but applied earlier, but that's about it.  No guarantees as to timing.

Not an easy time at all, so when people say to try and focus on other things and keep busy.. it definitely helps so I am... (but I do check my status almost every day even though I know we're a long way off)... :clock:

That would be a nice reason :).  I think they should have geared up better to handle the transfers from VSC but of course I don't know all that was going on at the time so being an armchair quarterback is easy.. :)  At least they are finally doing something about it now.

Yes... agree... things did seem to come to a screaming halt when the VSC files transferred.  I can't imagine how the system functions.. if that's even the appropriate word.  Things definitely seem to be moving with the CSC transfer but who knows for how long that will be given priority.  It certainly is making a difference right now so let's hope that continues for long enough to improve the overall process for everyone and we can all carry on with life as planned (F)

I'm petitioning my fiancee who's in the Philippines but i'm still waiting for my NOA2 as well. My timeline is similar to most of the guys in this thread. My timeline has moved twice already... from mid August to late August, then from late August to mid September.

I don't think applications coming from the Philippines aren't being expedited anymore.

Don't know that it means Philippines are not being expedited ... perhaps you're not aware that others are waiting 5 plus months for an approval.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsK1 July 2014 Filers

Hello everyone waiting for Texas , I understand backlog but why just Texas with California and Vermont going so fast maybe they should distribute the workload  . But my big question why does applications for the Philippines go so quick , its  like they a  fellow countrymen screening applications looking for Philippines  to help  . I am happy for them but it should be first come first serve across the country...

Vermont is no longer processing K1's...so they are now at TSC which has a delay of somewhere between 5 and 7+ months.  CSC is fast as they have been for some time now..just a matter of weeks really for at least the last couple of years anyway.  Petitions from the Philippines are expedited.. I dont know whether this is automatic or by request, but there is a huge discrepancy.  Anyway.. all the best for all who just want to be with their partners and having been apart from my fiance for 18mths... I just hope things get moving (fast).  (F)

I just received a call from my wife, in Colombia. She has just taken a pregnancy test and she's pregnant. Its only been a few weeks now...here interview is December 22nd. Her general medical exam is the 15th.

1. Will the medical exam show that she is a few weeks pregnant.
2. Will this delay the visa approval? Stop the visa process when we are so close to completion..

Shes crying on the phone and I am beside myself.

Congrats on your approval!! By the way how long did it take for you to get your approval? Cause I look at your timeline it seems like you got in less than a month! What service center were you at? vermont? national benefits? texas?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresINTERVIEW!!

the interview was short and fairly easy, they had my wife go to the window where they proceded to ask her for documents, we filled for a CR1/IR1 visa, so all documents were already submitted except the medical which she handed to the lady at the window. once she passed the medical documents to her she then asked for missing papers and was asking her questions about me while she was doing this, it appeared to be a tactic to try and see if you really knew each other, once my wife called me over with all copies of the documents and she saw i was there, she excused herself and suddenly found all the papers, after that point it was very fast, waited approx 20 more minutes and a very nice lady called her to the next window, asked her where i lived, what i did for work, was i with her today and she pointed saying yes he is right over there to which she great. she then took finger prints had her sign her forms and said congratulations your approved. so really it isnt as scary as everyone makes it sound, provided you follow the rules and have nothing to hide just be yourself. good luck to you both in your process.

Thank you so much!! I truly do appreciate it! If you don't mind me asking one more question. Did you guys take any evidence to the interview?
