K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTranslation for itinerary?

Sorry for the mix-up, I thought it was evidence because in the K1 visa guide it says "Copies of all airline boarding passes, train passes, itineraries, hotel receipts, passport stamps...and other documentary evidence that you have met within the last two years. " Thanks for your help.

Yes ... I think in the context of anything else you can provide, boarding passes, passport stamps, ATM or card payments - it is worth including as part of your evidence. Best of luck

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMoving from England to America on a K-1 Visa
Hi there,

What you are applying for is a K1 visa.
If you follow the K1 Guide below that gives you an outline of the process.
The USCitizen applies for the visa by completing the I-129F form and supplying the supporting info.
You will probably need to help with this.
It gets sent to the Dallas Lockbox (where all applications go). They then send it on to a Centre for processing. This will be either Vermont or California. You get an email/text and a hardcopy of receipt of this (NOA1). They will either process it and send an NOA2 (this can take several months -average around 5mths). If you have left anything out of your application they send a request for evidence (RFE). Then they send you a Packet 3 (this goes to the beneficiary...you in this case). You complete the forms and send back to your local Embassy. Then you have a medical and after an interview where you take further information. They either approve your K1 or not depending on whether you have all the required info and they are happy with your application.

If you follow this site you will learn a lot. You don't need a lawyer - it is expensive and from what I have seen it is not necessary. All the jargon used sounds confusing at first but if you stay in touch with the site it all starts to fall into place. Just be aware that some embassies require different information for the K1 so its good to refer to the example given for your Embassy, so you don't get caught up in stuff that isn't relevant - some opinions can be based on things that don't apply to your country.

All the best... no doubt you can do it!

If you look in "Embassy Info" at top of this page and go into the site for your country it will give you a list of things to take to the interview, as well as other information pertaining to the beneficiaries country. Others who have already done this may be able to add further advice. Best of luck.

Im not sure how it works in Australia, and don't know all your fiance's circumstances but you could contact their Registrar and explain the situation and see if they can provide a certificate. It is a requirement for the Fiance visa if the child is under 21 whether they are travelling or not. If the issue is that your fiance needs consent from the other parent to get the birth certificate, the Registrar might issue a waiver to allow him to get a copy owing to his circumstances. https://www.passport...rtificates.aspx

Hey this is cool Khymster.... congratulations!
Look at the guide (Guides link at top of this page)- it tells you what to prepare to send to your fiancee when you get the NOA2.
Also look at the Embassy for Indonesia site to see what they need for the interview and your fiancee can get proof of ongoing relationship etc. They will send her the Packet 3, which tells her but if you want to get information ready now she can check the details on the Embassy site.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTouched... what is the meaning of this??

This is a common question

When your petition is received, it is assigned a bar code. The bar code is swiped everytime the file is handled, whether it be if the file is counted, moved, or placed on an adjudicators desk

So don't put too much weight behind a touch, it doesn't mean anything, they could have simply moved your file from one filing cabinet to another due to a leaky pipe

Good luck

Well said. Lots of petitions are successful without ever having shown they have been touched so you can't read anything into it. Best of luck with your journey.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-1145 expires 05/31/2011 but no new update?
Yes there were discussions regarding other forms which had expired ... see link http://www.visajourn...red-i-134-form/

The result was that if there is no new form then it is okay to use the one which is due to expire.

For the G-1145 it is just a request to be contacted when the package has been received so it should be fine. If you send it together with your I-129F package they will send you a message to let you know they have received it and sent it on to a Service Center for processing.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEgypt - Engaged - What you guys think
You only have to show that you have met in the last two years for the initial application, by providing copy of passport stamps, photo(s) together, boarding passes for travel, hotel receipt showing both names for example. Later at the Interview stage you need to provide evidence of ongoing relationship, e.g. copies of emails, phone records, photos, etc.
Maybe someone from your beneficiary's country can provide more specific information as to what they provided at the interview - not all embassy's requirements are exactly the same.
Best of luck.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresexpedite info (help)

Its not only the the rents and all that, the dollar is quite low. For each dollar sent from the US its worth only about 0.70 euros. Just think how much those dollars would buy in the US compared to Romania.

I am one who believes you two can pull it out because you are both fighters and you will not quit. Like you said it would kill both of your spirits if you two were to give up on each other.

Just hold on, take care of yourself and try to keep grandma in check, or if it becomes impossible find a friend you can share a flat with or something. (F)

Good advice... yes, just focus on your health, your future (get anything ready you need to support your K1, to save time later), and keeping the peace at home as much as possible... and keep in touch on VJ... there are a lot of good people here that will support you as much as possible. (F)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresexpedite info (help)

Yes that was good idea not mentioning it there in the thread. Especially cause nobody can really do anything to help. Well I'm also sorry to hear about Sams father. Ooh this sucks , keep up the faith and try to keep your grandmother happy so she doesn't try to do that to you again. My fiance is a Russian from Latvia so I have seen how some can get over there in eastern europe, especially with the job situation and all in those countries. Best of luck to you!

ooh .. ok, just saw this... so still think the safety is the priority and if you can find a safe house and Sam's airfare money goes towards paying for this, it is a better approach than trying for an expedite which doesn't sound likely. At least you will be ok and will be in a better position to wait out the K1 processing time. Even VSC is a little quicker than it has been so you may be one of the lucky ones... all the best.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresexpedite info (help)
I agree with others who suggest you need to be out of your present situation and find a safe place to stay. Your safety and health are the priority so this is most urgent. If Sam's father can help with funds to help pay for your support at a friend's house you may be able to sustain this for long enough until the visa is either expedited or processed in the normal timeframe. At least you would be safe.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNext steps after NOA 2
You can also call NVC if you haven't heard anything about the 10day-2 week mark and give them your case number. They will tell you when it was sent to the Embassy. The Embassy will send your fiancee packet 3 but if you want to get started on packet 3 the beneficary can look at the beneficary's embassy (Indonesia) site which will list the contents of packet 3 (DS156, DS156K etc). These can be downloaded from the downloads at the top of this page. Look at the K1 guide and that together with your fiancee's embassy information should cover what you need to know.

She can get the forms ready for packet 3 as well as supporting information etc ready for the interview. You can wait for everything to arrive, but if you have the forms and supporting information ready in advance it will speed things up a little. Best of luck.

Yes you definitely have to send copy of divorce papers with the I-129F application. You could start preparing everything else you need though - proof of having met within last 2 years, supporting photos, boarding passes for travel, etc before then to save you some time later on. As has been said, follow the guide and it will make you better prepared for your application.

Ongoing evidence not required at this time. He just needs to address the RFE

Hey yeah, believe I said Baggage tags relating to boarding passes.. (and not to forget you only assumed he doesn't have boarding passes).

And "Ongoing evidence not required at this time. He just needs to address the RFE"

I'm pointing out that the other information the petitioner has is not wasted as it will "apply for the interview later on to prove ongoing relationship".

So sorry... my ego doesn't enter into this... I'm just trying to be helpful...
AndieFemaleNew Zealand2011-06-02 03:20:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRFE I'm LOST!!
Difficult without passport stamps... I can only suggest boarding passes (primary evidence), any 'dated' photos of you together (maybe check with friends or family that might have taken any), ATM receipts or credit card summary for an event that you bought tickets to show you were in Canada or she was with you. (As just movie tickets on their own don't show name details). Also baggage tags that relate to boarding passes (showing baggage was checked). All your other info... cards, emails etc apply for the interview later to prove ongoing relationship.

Copy every page of both passports.

Best of luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129f Help!
If you follow the k1 guide it will give you directions ...

http://www.visajourn...content/k1guide

You don't necessarily need to have been to his country.... you just need to have proof that you have met at least once within the last 2 years prior to your petition. The best evidence is boarding passes, hotel bookings showing both names, photos of you together, especially at family events with other family members. Photos are considered secondary evidence, but good to have. Later you need to show evidence of ongoing relationship so it is good to collect phone bills (which aren't so popular these days) copies of emails, letters, cards etc.

If you plan to live at your father's address initially, then you should list that address. You need to answer all questions and not leave gaps or they will send you an RFE (request for evidence), which can delay the process.

It becomes clearer if you keep in touch with this site and learn from other peoples experience on their Visa journey and post any questions if you are unsure. Best of luck.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresis it a problem ( Petition approved,US Fiance only visited once - Morocco) [edited title]
You are only required to have met once in the 2 years prior to your petition but you do have to have proof of this, boarding passes, hotel receipts showing both names, etc.

Later on for the interview you need to provide evidence of ongoing relationship such as copies of emails, phone/chat records, etc. You can find more detailed info on this on other posts. So, provided you have supporting information, one visit is ok.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNotice of Receipt I-129F
Ok, you don't have a timeline... so is this your NOA1 (I-797) or NOA2 (I-797C)?

If it is NOA1 then it is just really a receipt for your I-129F petition. Then, the wait can be up to 5 months, sometimes more. If it is the NOA2, then the petition has been approved for the beneficiary to go ahead with the K1 application (more forms, evidence, interview etc.)

I'm going to avoid the friction and say... Tim I tend to agree that if there are no 'complications' it can be straight forward. Any questions.. just ask and there will be a good pool of people prepared to help. If there is anything tricky about your situation then you may need legal assistance. Otherwise.. start by following the K1 guide... read this site and get an indication of the pitfalls (you'll find it addictive ) . If you follow the guide and check with the forum if you are confused about, ask, and you will be fine. Good luck with your petition, whatever path you decide on.

yes...some people do send stacks of pages but I have just printed summaries of chat lists periodically and I have some emails printed that have special significance. We talk every day and chat as well. It amounts to thousands of communications but I have also printed where it shows chats as "60-200 of hundreds" as an example. Also if you have any cards that you have received(for birthday or just general etc) to you. If you wont be together again before your interview then you are somewhat limited to the above. If you will be together then you can have the photos together, hotel receipts showing both names, boarding passes etc. as you would for proof of having met within past 2 years.

As photos are only considered secondary evidence anyway, they are not totally necessary. You just need evidence of an ongoing relationship which can include chat logs, emails, birthday or other cards/letters that may have been sent etc. The only evidence of you having been together is the requirement that you have met in the past 2 years. As has been suggested just supply examples of as much supporting information that you have that you think will support your case.

My attorney told me just include previous trips that you have made... when you go to embassy for interview then you bring along your proof of ongoing relationship (between filing of 129-F and interview date)

Yes... agree. All you need for I-129F is proof of meeting within last 2 years, so include previous trips (especially boarding passes, etc) photos together if you have them though photos are only secondary evidence and use your future trips as ongoing relationship evidence at interview (together with copies of chat logs, emails, phone bills etc).

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresStupid G-325A question

I just received my fiancee's G-325a form from DHL today. I was final checking it, and I noticed under the question "If your native alphabet is in other letters than Roman alphabet, write your name here," we left it blank because her alphabet is Roman.

I noticed, however, that the sample form on visajourney has an "N/A" there. As I tend to overanalyze everything, I wondered if this is a big deal or not. Does the "N/A" make a difference?

Advice I have previously read on VJ is that you should answer all questions and if it doesn't apply you write 'none' or 'n/a'. I doubt they would make an issue of this but I can't be definite on that.
