K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureswhats after NOA2?
If you check the K1 Guides and Flow Chart (top of this page) it will give general guidelines.
You can then look at the Embassy website where your fiancee will be interviewed. It will give instructions of what is contain ed in packet 3 and other information about the interview. If you want to start preparing for this follow the requirements as these vary according to the embassy. It also means you don't have to wait around until your fiancee receives packet 3 before getting this information together.

Congratulations on your NOA2!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCase Status Inquiry
It can take 2-3 weeks to appear but even once it is loaded it will not necessarily show what is happening. Many cases show "Initial Review" even after they have been approved so you can't rely on it as an accurate status report. You may be able to follow the status accurately in your case but just letting you know not to get worried unnecessarily if it doesn't move.
Good luck with your petition.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureswait time for embassy to recieve application?
It normally takes about 2 weeks but I think some are taking a little longer at present. Do you have the new case number so you can track it? Sounds like you need to talk to someone at NVC and find out if/when it left.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNEED HELP RELATED I-129F
Sorry I'm not sure whether you are saying you included visa copies (passport stamps?) as well as the photos. If so, that is possibly okay. Your evidence needs to show that you were together at some time during the past 2 years. Passport stamps, boarding passes, hotel receipts showing both names etc. are primary evidence. Photos are secondary evidence.

Then you can send your copies of tickets, proof of emails, chat logs etc and a few more photos for the interview as proof of ongoing relationship.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureslocal office or tx lockbox?
You send the petition to Dallas Lockbox and if your US address is in Florida they will forward it to the Vermont Service Center. You can find the Dallas addresses in the K1 Guide. Also send the G1145 and they will text you when they receive it. (nice to have for peace of mind). Good luck with your petition.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow to "package" our K1 petition
You only need to provide proof of having met within the previous 2 years for the initial petition. Primary evidence such as copies of boarding passes, passport/visa stamps, hotel receipts showing both names etc. and as secondary evidence photos (only need around 5 or so, some can include family members etc ) showing you together which you label (names, location, date) on the back. You could include some significant emails, but generally these, chat logs etc can be used for the interview later on as part of the proof of ongoing relationship. Hope this helps.

(Some people do front load their petitions by having lots of additional evidence, but this seems to be mainly in high risk countries where their proof of relationship may be challenged).

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRFE Info Rec'd at USCIS
It seems that the NOA2 after an RFE is often around 2-3 weeks. As far as the status updates go..... very unreliable. Hopefully you don't have to wait too much longer.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPost NOA2 questions for newbie
You need to look at the K1 Guide (see Guides top of this page) for general process
and
Your Embassy requirements for Packet 3 and Interview (see Embassy info) top of this page. Embassy requirements vary according to country so you need to look specifically at your embassy.
If you have any questions following that just ask again on this site.
Also, if you fill in your timeline etc it helps VJ members to be more specific with their replies.

Congratulations on your NOA2 and best of luck with the remainder of your journey.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProof of email communication
Do you have chat logs at all? Another thing is printing regular emails over a period of time and you are allowed to black out anything personal. Any cards or letters posted?
I haven't seen my fiance since we became engaged so boarding passes, photos etc are all prior to. I have miles of chat logs and emails since. I plan to provide boarding passes etc from earlier on anyway.
Use your phone logs... they are still proof of communication.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRFE needed/not needed?
Photographs are only secondary evidence...One of you must have travelled... Do you have boarding passes? There must be passport stamps so you would send copies of those and hotel booking/receipts or anything else that proves you were in the same place at the same time within the last two years. Photos on their own are not enough.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureshardcopy of NOA 2?

No, no NVC fees. The person above seems to be listing the process for a spousal visa instead of procedure for a K-1. You won't pay fees or submit anything to the NVC. You will use the I-134 not the I-864, and that will be submitted with the others papers that are sent to, or brought to the embassy on your interview date. It varies from consulate to consulate.

Fees for the visa stage of the K-1 are the visa fee, the medical, and any expenses for documents, travel, etc.

Yay! thanks for clarifying... (I wondered how I had missed that one too...).

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresConcerned about proof
Its difficult to say exactly what will be required or recommended for the interview. Different countries have different requirements. There are specific requirements so you need to satisfy those. There is no mention of where the beneficary is from so its difficult to be specific. You can check the local Embassy Info (top of this page). For the initial petition you should have given proof of having met in the last 2 years, for the interview proof of ongoing relationship as well as all the other forms is needed.

How do you know where to schedule your medical examination if you don't have the list of approved providers/doctors? Is there a way to find out in advance where to go?

You should be able to find a list on your Embassy site (see under Embassy Info... top of this page)..

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNVC number in hand

Yes I did look at NZ Embassey Info and reviews and they are very uplifting. I do have the NVC number, so what does he do with it, after he gets the forms. And also all the Doctors listed on the embassey info in Auckland he can just call make an appointment and take the form with him correct? I am getting excited since I think I can finally print the invites for the wedding.

As for our NOA2, no I didnt expedite, probably would have if I'd known lol. No i waited and waited and cried and wondered. And well it looks like we had a string of good luck. I have read the horror stories and it makes me worry about ours, and well then I found this site and I feel alot more educated on what to expect, and well not so alone.

Thank you for the info, I grately appreciate it :)

When the embassy receives a copy of the approval from NVC, they will forward packet 3 which is just a list of forms. They are the same as shown on their website http://www.visajourn...nd&cty=Auckland
If you want to hurry things up your fiance can download the forms off 'Downloads' (top of this page)complete and send them to the Embassy. If you call one of the doctors on their list you can make an appointment for the medical as this has to be done before the interview anyway - they will need the NVC number. When you have the Packet 4 forms and information almost ready, call the Embassy and ask to make an appointment for an interview. Your fiance can do all that from the NZ end and will need some things from you. Read those and the Embassy Review as well it will give you an idea of the process.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNVC number in hand

So it has been a journey and I am so excited to see that it is moving along. My petition has left NVC and is now on its way to New Zealand, my question is How long will it take and just to verifiy what steps are next. I guess you can call me obsessed and ready for this process to be in the home stretch. I have really enjoyed everyones questions and experiences they have been major help when I have wanted to pull my hair out. I am so ready for my fiance to be here, we have set a date but i am worried about whether this process will be done in time for us. Our wedding date has been set for November 19th this year, Thank you for all replies :P

Congratulations and all the best to you both!! (F)

Actually it shouldn't take too long. Have you looked at the Embassy Info and Embassy review (top of this page) for NZ. If you have the NVC number your fiance can go ahead with the medical and you can get the papers for packet 3 done. Packet 3 requirements are listed in their Embassy Info. Scheduling for the interview only takes between 1-3 weeks. So it happens quite quickly from now in NZ.

I see from your timeline you only waited just over 3 mths for the NOA2 which is good for Vermont... did you have an expedite?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA1 received !
If you follow the K1 guide (in Guides - top of this page) and your Embassy requirements for Packet 3 and Interview (see Embassy Info - also top of this page) they will outline the process to be followed, as different countries have different requirements. As has been said its a good idea to follow posts here so you are aware of any pitfalls or requirements specific to the beneficiary's country that may help make your journey easier. All the best.
