I have to keep my sense of humour or I would go completely insane by now. I feel the frustration when those who filed after us have been approved, but we need to remember that we do not know other peoples' stories...and when someone is lucky enough to be approved quickly, then God bless them! I'm just holding onto my "glass half full" attitude and know that someday soon I will see "Post Decision Activity" on the website and hear from my hubby that we have been approved. It is good to see some Feb approvals - even one from Nebraska. It seems though that these are petitions files after ours was filed . I have nothing, not even an RFE to indicate that I am not on the bottom of some pile under someone's desk who has gone on vacation. My husband is in Canada visiting me and has been for the past two weeks, so while I was at work tonight he texted me one of the most amazing things I've ever read. "We got approved." I couldn't wait to get home, and now here I am, so freaking amazed. Just earlier this week I was freaking out over how we might never get approved, what if the pictures I sent in weren't the right size, being together for 4 years and not getting to live together as soon as we married being emotionally draining, you know, your average freak out while you wait for the government to determine if you get to live with your spouse. Anyways, I don't want to boast too much, I'm just so excited. I hope everyone else in February get approved soon!! I noticed it went from Dec 27th at one point, to Dec 3rd, then again to Dec 10th and back up to Jan 10th then now Dec 14th! So I stopped believing that this is in any way helpful to all of us. By the way, do you happen to know what exactly is required to be on the birth certificate? Out of curiosity, where in Germany did you live? I believe the long form birth certificate has both parents, place of birth, length, weight, reg. number, and a host of other info NVC will require.  I never had one issued (I only have the little one my mother gave me long ago).    I lived in a small village outside the Canadian Forces Base Baden-Sollingen called Hugelsheim.  Lived there from 1983 to 86. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	I-130 feb 2014 filers	I am already gathering information and documents for NVC even though it could be several months before I am approved.  I have already been waiting well over a month for a long form birth certificate and my military records.  And now I have to carefully time applying to the German government for a certificate of conduct, as I lived in Germany for three years.  Who knows how long that will take or how long it is good for.    Anyway, it is always good to be proactive in this process and working on getting all this stuff together makes me feel like something is accomplished, like we are moving forward. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	I-130 feb 2014 filers	If you are waiting on IR1/CR1 the priority dates mean nothing. IR1/CR1 visas are unlimited each year. Given what is being said in various threads here on VJ, if you are not expedited the petitions are approved randomly. There seems to be no rhyme or reason. They seem to be going by dates for a while, then some are whisked through really quickly for no particular reason, and then some (and I really feel for these folks) are caught in a backlog vortex and are bounced around from service center to service center for a year or longer. The eternal optimist in me keeps me checking, but I do not get my hopes up and I keep my expectations low. It is great to see the ones who are getting through in a reasonable timeframe, but I hold no illusions that that this process will follow any particular timeline. I will count myself lucky to hold my visa by November this year. If it happens earlier - fanfreakingtastic, if not...oh well. It is not something I can control. To AlexandCarlos19, VJ has become my Facebook also. I actually spend more time on here than FB anyway, with the added bonus of the wealth of knowledge these folks have. I told myself that I won't even begin checking until June... then immediately refreshed the app 32523 times.  I agree with what you said about the backlog though. And once NVC clears, there'll be a backlog at the embassies for interviews. How difficult is it to send out an email to each centre/embassy along the way and have them implement changes for this new goal?! o well.. Let's just hope we get outta here before the next Canadian winter     O damn! I wonder how that happened. Let us know when you figure it out I wish I could stick to my guns on that one Tala, but at least I am trying to keep it to once, maybe twice a day...lol!  And...when I got home I attempted to log into my account on the USCIS site and it worked.  I am guessing something was temporarily hinky between my work computer and the app.  I am on my Macbook at home now and it seems fine.  The problem only happened when I installed the paid app, so I uninstalled that also.   I will get email and text updates from the site anyway so the free app will do just fine.     Yes, I am praying that we can be out of here by the time this coming winter hits.  This one has been particularly hard.. I am fairly certain it was the app that caused this so those of you who are trying this, please be careful! Now I have to figure out how to "undo" whatever happened here - whether I have to just wait it out a day or two, or create a new account. I think I will wait and see if they will unlock the account. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	I-130 feb 2014 filers	Has anyone downloaded the android app from google play ???? USCIS Case Status Notifier ??? Gee thanks!  Yet another thing to check that's gonna drive me crazy...lol!  Just kidding.  Just downloaded it to my Droid, but like someone else on here mentioned I think it is best to back off checking too often.  It won't make them go any faster and it only frustrates us and drives us batty.  I think I will check once a week (just to make myself feel a little bit of power...yeah right!) but aside from that, I am signed up for email and text notifications so what's the point of stressing myself out unnecessarily?  And now all the I130s that were fast tracked through USCIS are starting to stall and backlog at NVC.  Just my humble opinion here, but if they do not hire more people to weed through backlogs, the backlogs will just be shuffled around from one step in the process to another.   All this being said, I am an eternal optimist with high hopes that everyone here will be processed fairly and expeditiously.  Just my two cents worth on a chilly Thursday morning in Winnipeg! They have not reached 3/31 yet   Send an eRequest once you hit the six month mark.  That is when it should go through.  Mine was six months and ten days.  Maybe you will be approved before this time, but likely not.  Nebraska has been approving at the six month mark on average. My PD is 1/27 and I'm stuck in the "Your petition is on hold due to extra time needed for background checks."   My PD is 04 Feb and I am still stuck on "Initial Review"  Don't even think they have blown the dust off it yet... And their case is in Nebraska. Unbelievable!!!
