Yup very glad we made it! Wish we could have seen each other and talked while waiting. I got out around 8:30 and was also with the last batch that got interviewed late. But i think i did see you...were you asked by someone at SLEC if you just got immunized? I think that was you...hahaha...

Well, good luck on our interview! kicking.gif

I was wearing sleeveless...yellow gold tongue.gif nobody from SLEC asked me if i was immunized coz i was just waiting at the immunization area for my doctors go signal for VACCINE interview.....and i think i was the last person that was being interviewed because that was already 6:30 when the young doctor called me. She interviewed sooo fast laughing.gif then, directed me to the vaccines.Even if im sooo tired coz i was there at SLEC 2pm, I was called by Window B, I greeted him good evening with enthusiasm laughing.gif , he just asked me few questions and give me some instructions about the Xray film, it lasted 2 minutes and was out before 7:30. There are almost 30 - 40 people inside. If i guess it right you are that pretty lady who wear maong jacket hehehe....just guessing tongue.gif GOODLUCK ON YOUR INTERVIEW good.gif

kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif Good thing is YOU PASSED. Glad WE made it. I was there too. I was scared also because the nurse took my BP twice 140/100 and im 36 smile.gif and im PAYAT... smile.gif very high for my age. So, i was directed to go to my PE and the doctor in room#8 told me to relax and i waited for another 30 minutes each time and it caused delay. A total of 4x and my BP didnt go down sad.gif so, the doctor advised me to present a medical certificate the next day ohmy.gif stating that i will now have my medication. Ultimately, i was one of the last 10 persons who was given the immunization last Feb.29. ohmy.gif ohmy.gif it scared me a lot considering its almost 7pm. Thank God that the results are good.gif good.gif good.gif

Hi Guys,

Just had my Medical Day 1 today and had the scare of my life when i had to repeat my X-ray 3 times. Had to pay additional 300 Php for that too. Anyways, the good news is that i think (?) they did not find any problems with my X-ray after the third time and asked me to continue the rest of my Medical Day 1. I'll be back tomorrow for Medical Day 2 and hopefully get positive results.

Anyone had the same experience? Was there any additional testing or problems on your 2nd day?

Thanks!

hi,

i'm an x-ray technologist by profession so maybe i can help. was your second and third x-ray done in different positions (side and/or leaning back)? if it was done in these positions, it is possible that they saw something in your first chest x-ray. the second and third x-rays are done to verify the initial finding. if it was done the same way as the first one (facing towards the wall), it may be because you didn't take a deep breath or you were moving a bit when the x-ray was taken. btw, medically you don't want "positive" results. this will mean there is something wrong with you. goodluck.

philip

Hi there Philip!

Thanks for the quick reply! Yeah, i was asked to lean back the 2nd and 3rd time around. They also verified that they found out something on the 1st x-ray. Anyways, im thinking that if they did find something even on the 2nd and 3rd, they would have told me immediately right? But they told me nothing and asked me to continue where i left off.

Well i just do hope that the results are negative tomorrow (hope i got this one right!). I'm quite confident of the negative results because i do not smoke and we do not have any history of TB. Wish me luck!

As far as i can remember, having a tattoo will be asked during the actual physical examination by the doctor...piercings as well but never have i encountered a denial because of having one...

Philippineshas anyone here been denied for admitting that she/he smokes cigarettes?
I remember very well that during the physical exam with the doctor, he/she will ask if you smoke. Just admit that you do smoke and you'll be fine. It won't be a reason for denial.

As for the psych test, just admit what happened and just agree to what the doctor will prescribe you to do. Hopefully you'll be done with whatever testing the doctor prescribed before your interview date.

Here's a surefire way to make everything go well - PRAY. good.gif

PhilippinesNeed Transcripts of College Grades From Phillipine University
You can authorize someone to pickup or get your transcripts from the school. I did that for my wife and had no problems with it. Just present a authorization letter and provide immediate info to the school like ID number, year of graduation or something so that they can easily process your request.

I also believe that there is a certification body in the U.S. that can evaluate your grades during your college days. I forgot the name but my wife like contacted them and asked them to evaluate her grades. They'll get back to you with the results if you need to take additional units or if it's equivalent to the actual units needed for a college diploma in the U.S.

You can also take the GED exams. It's equivalent to the PEP test here in the Philippines.

Hope this helps! good.gif

PhilippinesFil-Am Couples on CR1/IR1/K3 Route
QUOTE (NoelandTintin @ Mar 7 2008, 09:19 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Wow! I’m very surprised to realize that the vast majority of Fil-Am couples here on VJ are on a K1 Visa. There’s even a K1 visa guide pinned but no such thing for CR1/IR1 or even K3. :-(

So I thought I’d start a thread for us, on the CR1/IR1/K3 route, where we could ask questions and discuss matters specific to our case.

I'll start...

My wife's case is almost done at NVC. When that gets complete and transferred to US embassy in Manila, what's next?

I know that there's is no packet 3 for CR1 filers. Do we just wait for packet 4 and that's it?

Im on K-3 and my interview will next week March 12...

Anyways about your questions, i suggest you call NVC or DOS (Dept of State) and ask for your case number...you can check out Sheriff Uling's signature on the numbers to call...and which website to visit to check for your appointment and medical date...

Yep, packet 4 only for K-3 and CR-1/IR-1...just wait for it like 1 to 4 weeks from the time your case is received by the NVC...its usually a week or so...i received mine within that time frame...

anyways, good luck to you on Visa Journey! kicking.gif

anyways, if it was sent as priority mail then you should be able to receive it in 3 to 5 working days. When did your fiancee send it out? Hopefully you get it before your interview...

Well, goodluck and i hope everything goes well...

just needs to be notarized by a certified Notary Public, it doesn't need to be a lawyer.

FYI - MariEnMichelle wrote "notary seal by the lawyer" because notaries are lawyers in the Phil versus here in the States, which can be anyone who is certified...

It is only Monday night there so keep your fingers crossed that you will get it before Thursday, if your fiance has already sent it. Goodluck!!

Now we're in a big problem, my fiancee called the DHL and told to him that our documents is LOST...that is really not good news for us. DHL should know the responsibilities to take care of all the shipment they've had. But then telling us that our shipment is lost is not REALLY GOOD.

Now, my fiancee sent me a new letter again and they charge it for FREE (DUHH~) they should charge us FREE FOR the lost of our documents though its still not good on the time of my interview... God help us to find the right way to do....

Maybe you can ask DHL to give you a certification or something that they have the original documents and that they were lost in transit. You can probably show this to the Consul along with the copy of your Affidavit of Support. Not sure if this will work though...

HELP, My Fiance has her VISA But the passport is being held pending Document Verification. I know she needs to attend the CFO seminar Can she still? and who do I contact...CFO, SMEF, or PRISM? and what are their hours if anyone knows. My plan right now is for her to attend a meeting then we are flying back to her home town. I Just need to know if I have to schedule the return flight a day earlier than planned (Friday Vs Saturday).

Have her attend PRISM so she can get the PRISM certificate which is a prequisite for the CFO Certificate and Stamp. PRISM is at the BDO Building in front of De La Salle University along Taft Ave., Manila. Go to the 2nd floor and bring your NBI Clearance, Birth Certificate and Marriage Certificate. Fee is 250 Pesos.

However, to get the CFO Stamp you should have your passport at hand...so re-sched it when you have the passport. CFO is along Quirino Ave...have her prepare 450 pesos for the CFO Certificate.

Hope this helps!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK-3 Visa Petition by US Citizen while out of country

Yes you can, you would first file I-130, then wait for NOA1 to arrive then mail in I-129F.

You need to fill out and sign the forms first and either send them to someone in the states and they would just mail them to USCIS, or you could just send the I-130 directly to USCIS from the overseas address, using USA address as home living address for them to send correspondence, and when NOA 1 for I-130 shows up then have someone mail in the I-129F (that you prepared and sent them) attaching the I-130 NOA1.

One consideration, Lately CR-1 visa has taken a few weeks longer to reach Manila, than K-3. The CR-1 is an immigrations visa, that generates a green-card allowing work auth upon entry to the USA. The CR-1 is less expensive than K-3 (No AOS or trip back to Manila to interview for the CR-1 from K-3). Have you seen how much AOS will cost starting next Monday ($1010).

I knew it! We should have filed 2 months ago but had hesistations because we though USCIS might do a "check up" on my wife if she is really at her States address. Well, can't cry over spilled milk can i? hehehehe! Anyways, you've been very helpful. We've actually considered your advice before - especially if we will be basing our decision on the fee increase. The truth is, i just want to be with my wife as soon as possible and start with building our our family and our careers in the States.

Anyways, do i really need to go back to Manila for the CR-1 for K-3? I was under the impression that AOS will be done while i am at the States and my CR-1 Visa will be issued there also...

Thanks again! :D

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK-3 Visa Petition by US Citizen while out of country
Hi Guys!

Just a quick question...Can a USC file or start the K-3 Visa Petition process while he/she is out of the country (i.e., vacation outside of the US)? Can somebody file it in his/her behalf? I was just wondering though - we could have done this but didn't know if it will work. Michelle and I were married May and we just file this month - we were thinking of filing it right after our wedding but we were both in the Philippines at that time...

(If the answer is yes to my question then i'll probably regret this for the rest of my life...hehehehe!

Hoping for you replies! Thanks! :D

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMy I-130 NOA1
Hi Guys!

Just wanted to inform you that we got our I-130 NOA1 just today! :D

Another bit of info: We called up the immigration call center and asked where to file our I-129F. The person said that if you filed the I-130 and I-129F at the same time, the I-130 should be sent to the Service Center where the USC resides and the I-129F should be sent to Chicago. But if you didn't do this, which in our case we didn't, you can file the I-129F directly at the Service Center where you filed your I-130. Sending it to Chicago will create more problems since the person on the phone said that Chicago and CSC are not that "connected"! Bummer huh?! (so how will Chicago know that you submitted I-130 at the Service Center if in case you submitted it at the same time???) Also, if you are gonna send your I-129F to the Service Center, it would be best to send a copy of your I-130 along with your NOA1 so that the Service Center guys will not look for your previous I-130 file.

Well, this came from the mouth of someone from the Immigration call center - just sharing this info also...

Thanks!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about Timeline
Hi Guys,

I have a question on the Processing Estimates/Stats on our timelines. Based on my timeline, my I-129F can be adjucated as early as December 19, 2007. I know our timelines may vary depending on the situation (and how USCIS acts on it ) but does the said estimate include the NVC and the Interview phase already? Or is this just the estimated time when my I-129F will be approved?

Thanks in advanced for some enlightenment on this. :D

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNewbie here! July filers and other questions...

Hi everyone, I've been looking around for awhile, and finally got the I-130 and 129F filed in July (see my timeline). I received the I-129F NOA1, but the MSC number would not show up on the online USCIS website, or on their telephone system. So I got through (very, very quickly) to first a person manning the phones, and then an officer (who was able to find my case number).

What's interesting (or sad) is that the officer told me that it would take approximately 6-8 months to get through the process, so that I would be looking for a NOA2 in February '08.

OK, I realize after reading everyone else's posts on VJ that the USCIS likes to give themselves wiggle room - but hearing it certainly makes the journey ahead look totally uphill.

I suppose in the meantime I can only hope that they at least get my case into the system soon!

niki

Hi Niki,

Just be strong and don't fuss about it much. Approval can be faster and slower (depends!)...just relax for the meantime. Good luck on your journey! :-D

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNewbie here! July filers and other questions...

hello

06/11/2007 i-130 reseived

but i still did't get the i-797c and iam wondering why if there is ppl just filed they cases in july and they already got this form so whats wrong with my case iam waiting for this i-797c forever so i can file the i-129f .

my question is :

can i file i-129f without this i-797c ?????

how much the fee for i-129f i have to put in the check now as i already filed the i-130.???

hope to hear some news soon

thanks

Hi Booboo,

Sorry but i am quite confused with your statement - you mean to say you received I-130 or did you submit it on the date you specified? Also, I-797c's is the same as Notice of Action (NOA)...if you haven't received one yet then you'll have to wait for it to be sent to you by the Service Center where you file your I-130. You will need to attach this to your I-129F form.

For more info on this, i suggest you visit this link:

K3 Guide

As for the fees, there will be fee increase come August. I suggest you visit this as well:

Fee Increase

Hope this helps!

Thanks!

thank you for your answer

the cic reseived my case in 6/11/07
but i still did't get the i-797c even there is many cases reseived by cic in jully and they already get it .
that what i can't understand .

about the fee:

i already payed 190$ for the i-130 and soon i will file the i-129f thats mean after 30 july so how much i have to pay then for the i-129f.

do i have to pay 355$ or 170$ as the old fee.or no fee for i129f
this is the only thing confusing me .

plz i need to make sure about that .
