K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325A Signatures

A signature is a signature regardless of how it is signed. What some people have received RFE's for is a signature that is not an original even if it has been. This can happen if one signs in black and it has been advocated to avoid the chance of this happening, to sign in blue ink.

There has been RFE's for not submitting all 4 pages of the G-325A. There has also been members that have only submitted one page of the G-325A and not received an RFE. It is totally up to the adjudicator.

Not letting myself off the hook for only sending one page each... but... The G-325A also requires a passport photo, and they only ask for one passport photo... Just hoping I get the right adjudicator, as I am fairly certain the other three copies get shredded and are not used... If they did get used, we would be asked for 4 passport photos each... Right???

Crossing my fingers, but also having myself and my fiance redo the form in quadurplicate... Just in case I get a caseworker who likes to shred the three unneeded 3 copies!

I hope not.

IMBRA may bite you in the #######, but if you used the new I-129F, with IMBRA questions you will most likely not get an RFE. But, no one really knows.

My problem right now is, why your "userid" does not show up in the bar below, that advises who is on board.

What's up with that?
[/quote]

I filed yesterday... Perhaps if my G325A boo boo doesn't get me, IMBRA will!!

I keep bouncing in and out of threads, probably why I am not showing up when you come back in here...

At least I used a post UMBR I129F!! It had the questions at the end... None applied to me though, fortunately! We did not use a marriage broker, and my record is clean as a whistle... Although my x wife has certainly tried to change that!

Just follow the advice you find here and you will be approved.

Don't worry about it.

The IMBRA thing screwed 10,000 people. When this passes, probably before you file, you will "jet" through the process!!!

Good luck ready4One, you will be approved!!!

Yes, you are applying logical interpretation, to a process that now follows RFE return dates.

May and June approvals in front of Embassy recalls and March filers? Criminal.

But, who controls action of Government agencies? Nobody.

They have full control of our destiny. Sucks, but reality.

Belive me, I am angry, what can I do?

USCIS Sucks!!!

I am looking at your timeline and starting to wonder if I should not seek a valuum prescription... Assuming only turning in one copy of the G-325A is the issue on your case... 5 MONTHS FOR THEM TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM AND NOTIFY YOU TO CORRECT IT??????

Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

I feel very badly for you and your fiance. Someone at USCIS should get a pink slip. What a true travesty.

I won't mind waiting our turn to begin our lives, but from what I have seen on here, it is a crapshoot. Some file and approval is swift... Then those like you who should be together by now are waiting to perhaps fix a minor issue which if so critical to USCIS should have been noticed by the person who accepted your filing in the first place!

Criminal!

Just a note of advice.
When you sign your signature ensure you sign with your full name.
Do not use any abbreviation or else you can get an RFE for your signature.
Good luck

This is one that has been bothering me, after almost 3 years of waiting we are just about ready to file for a K1 and I don't know what to do about the signature. I have never signed my name other than just my initials and my last name, if I was to write anything else it wouldn't be my signature, just my name written in longhand.

A signature, by definition is a personal thing. So I agree with you, huge question for you as to what to do. Your official signature is what you use to sign everything from checks to any other official paperwork... In my work there are tons of forms to sign, and everyone has their own unique styles. Some are just chicken scratches, but they always match, and I can easily tell they are authentic. I would think if you signed your full name instead of how you signed on the check they cashed, that would be something for them to notice... Wish I knew the answer for you!

Having reviewed the entire package again, and PM conversation with my buds, concluded that the G-325A is the problem.

Double IMBRA RFE's were sent within days. Mine was sent over 30 days ago.

At this point, I am not sure what they want, but I will post it when it arrives next week.

I will fix it quick, whatever it is.

How do you feel about CSC?

Any love there?

Well assuming this little boo boo causes a delay, I am more pissed at myself than CSC, but the fact that they want you to write out the same information on four virtually identical sheets of paper so every office can have a signed original is pretty amazingly stupid!

How is it that it takes 5 weeks for you to get an RFE? They ask for your email address! Why not send you an email and let you know immediately what needs correction. Or am I just being too logical and thinking outside the box?

Because USCIS sucks. That is the bottom line.

Thank God we only need to do this process once. Anything more would equal insanity.

I will post the USCIS nastygram I will send, after AOS is received.

If it makes someone there feel bad, good. If it changes policy and processing, better yet.

For whatever it is worth, I just went through the pinned RFE thread, and no one reported an RFE for only filing a single copy of the G-325A... So... Perhaps this will turn out to be much ado about nothing??

Still, going to have J print up and do the form in quadruplet like good little drones...

I have an RFE on the way, for my lack of understanding the G-325A requirements.

Based upon bad advice, I sent one page for each of us, with original signatures. Was told that the other 3 are tossed in the trash. Probably true, but you must send them anyway.

Why all four pages?

I should know better, having worked for the US Government.

Simple explanation: because they want it that way. Three go in the trash, one remains. But you need to send four anyway.

Nutcases!!!

RFE baby, what a F'up. CSC sucks!!!!!
[\quote]

The forms, all 4, are virtually the same!!!! And the information asked for is the same... If they need 4, why not ask for 1 and copy 3????

Still, I am kicking myself... Hopefully they accept the I-129F and tell us to immediately send in all 4 pages of the G-325A... Hope so anyway...

Now I have to call J and get her to print up the form(s) again and mail it ASAP... Sorry dear!

I hear ya', my friend. But hang in there. We're all in this together. Based on what I just read, I'm now expecting to see an RFE, too...I should have known that Laurent's desire to be creative with his signature would catch up with us on this little bureaucratic journey...ARGH! :(

I really hope we're wrong about this, too, my fingers are crossed for you! My mother (who had to go through a visa process with her ex husband) has said that I was stupid to think a first initial was enough (Nevermind that she doesn't typically sign her full name either!!) but to me it seems almost suspicious to sign differently than we do on our passports, IDs, cheques, and everything else, so I'm really not sure what to think!

Ooh, and just saw cristy's reply, and I'm hopeful that works out for us as well!!

Well I would say you are likely to be ok with his signature. And I agree, you should sign the forms as you would sign any other document. To sign it differently should create a problem... Good luck to you! My guess is your forms will pass muster and be ok!

Well I see there is one minor difference on the first page, no big boxes for official use only... And of course, the footers are different for each page...

I am still angry with myself, I did sort of wonder why I had printed up so many of this particular form when I was in Sharjah, half way around the world, filling out these forms with the person I have wanted to meet for over 2 years... And obviously failed to catch that it wasn't just in case we made a mistake and wanted our form to be tidy so we would use a new one... GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

I will get an RFE, fix the problem and move on, but unless there was a huge scandal involving service centers sending out fraudulent COPIES of G-325A forms in the past, this is the dumbest thing I have ever seen. From some of the stories on here, it likely won't last as the dumbest though.

Aw well... I can't help feeling like an idiot myself though...

I did not catch that there were 4 pages, all identical except for where they would eventually go with the G-325A... So... :crying: :crying: :crying:

We each did one while I was in Sharjah... Why, pray tell, isn't there a single ORIGINAL submitted G-325A which goes with your I-129f packet, and is copied AT THE SERVICE CENTER AND THEN SENT TO THE VARIOUS OTHER AGENCIES????

OFFICIALLY PISSED AT BOTH MYSELF, AND THE IDIOTS WHO EXPECTS 4 HANDWRITTEN IDENTICAL DOCUMENTS BECAUSE ONLY AN ORIGINAL WILL DO IN 4 DIFFERENT PLACES... BUT MAINLY PISSED AS HELL AT MYSELF...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAmending pending I-129F to change consulate

Embassy = Capital City
Consulate = Major city

This is not to be decided by you. It is determined by the geographical location of your Fiance.

Don't worry about it, unless your Fiance has moved recently. If so, change her address with USCIS.

Embassy in Mexico for the K-1 interview.

It's an option to relocate in Mexico so we can be closer together. The lawyer said we need a mailing address in Mexico to do that.

Let me see if i got this right... ur fiancee will be moving from manila to mexico and you want her to have her interview in Mexico?

If that's the case, you can send a fax to the service center where you filed your petition informing them of the change. Instead of forwarding it to Manila embassy, they will forward it to the embassy in Mexico.

That's what my fiance did. I was supposed to have my interview in Dubai, UAE and then later change it to Manila before the petition got approved. However, the real cliff hanger there was waiting if they will actually send the approved petition to the right place because it was impossible to talk to someone and confirm that they got our faxed request.

Hope that helps. :)

Hey sillygirl, similar situation here, although I am hoping my fiance goes through the interview in Dubai, UAE. :D Why did you change? Guessing you moved back to Manilla, but was it planned or what?

Curious is all. I would guess the process (in theory, practice looks pretty random) would be quicker from Dubai than Manila. Just a hunch though!

Despite the reality, I refuse not to dream of a quick process and getting J here by Christmas... (L)

I know the reality is February is a more likely 'quick' result, and that we may be fortunate to have her here NEXT August...

Never the less, I will continue to hope and dream and not let the reality ruin the dream just yet! (L)

Sooner or later J will be here, and I have already spent over 2 years loving this very wonderful woman, so whatever amount of time it takes, it takes. (L) We are in it for the long haul, and taking the long view. (L)

I hope they wrap up the March stragglers soon, and feel they should be getting priority service, and perhaps that will help untangle the system and the rest of us who follow will in turn be getting better service.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWho signs the G-325A?

The Guide says that the US citizen does:

"7. G-325A (all four pages) filled out by the US Citizen signed and dated (see example)"

BUT

The example itself implies it is the foreign Fiancee that signs it:

Example used: Australian Fiancee

All info, address, etc, previous to EMPLOYMENT listed as Australian info

Then:
[list all your employers, if not enough space use additional sheet and write
"Form G325A, Q: Employment last five years", Make a notation here to
see 'attachment']
[note: do not leave gaps in time frame]
[if periods of unemployment put unemployed]

The key word here being 'your'. If it is the US citizen who is filling out and signing the form, shouldn't it be 'Foreign Fiance's employers', since 'YOUR' implies the US citizen? :help:

If someone could clear this up that would be great. I'm not clear if I need to print this out, fill it out, sign it, and send it to my US fiance to add to his I-129F petition package.

Both parties fill out and sign all 4 copies of the G325A. Each of you will fill out a set of forms.

They (USCIS) only use one, but don't be like me and only send one. Best to do it right. Your fiance in the USA will need all 4 originally signed copies from you to send along with his I129F application. You will need to mail them to him unless he is visiting you before sending his application in.

Good luck!

Lets not shoot the messenger here.

Lets hasten to get my I-129Fs approved...am still counting on the impressionable letter I sent the USCIS officer who will have the honor to process my application, asking them to process the divorce decree requirement with some trust that as a USC, I will do what I promise.

Theres no reason for them not to trust that I will do so, as its hard enough having one lady..2 would kill me, hence the name I chose (if you must know!).

Jesus!!! I can't believe I sat here and read this whole thread!!! it was just too funny!!! If there is any truth to this?? all I can say is.... it's amazing how many people jump into something without any research.

Considering the ID he chose 'Death Knell' along with this whole scenario.....I seriously doubt it. If there is truth there is definitely an omen in his choice of ID as this is the end/death of his petition.

death· knell
n.
1. A stroke or tolling of a bell, announcing a death; a knell{1}.

2. Hence: (figuratively) A sign or harbinger of the end, death, or passing away of anything.

CHAPTER 4 IN WHICH DEATHNELL RECEIVES AN RFE:

RFE: DEAR SIR, YOUR APPLICATION AND LETTER OF INTENT TO MARRY INDICATE YOU ARE CURRENTLY MARRIED? IN THE INTERESTS OF JUSTICE WE ARE GIVING YOU AN OPPORTUNITY TO PROVE THAT THIS WAS A TYPO. PLEASE SUBMIT ALL DOCUMENTATION RELATING TO YOUR STATUS AS ELIGIBLE TO MARRY THE BENEFICIARY OF YOUR PETITION.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am an american now. And isn't it obvious to you that if you allow my fiance in to this great country my current wife and I will surely divorce??? Besides, while I hoped you would get my girlfriend here in a week, you have taken three weeks to get me this letter informing me you have a silly issue with my application.

I am an american now, you can trust me. Get my girlfriend here and my wife will surely divorce me immediately. Then I won't be alone, because my girlfriend is here.

Jeez! Get a grip and give me a visa!

Sincerely,

Deathknell

I would love to see a copy of deathknells letter of intent:

To whom it may concern,

I am still married, but considering going back to my old squeeze from my homeland. Not sure when I will divorce, but if you could get my girlfriend here next week that would be swell.

I am not alone yet of course, but at my age, don't want to waste one moment along in case my wife who got me here on a K-1 Visa decides it is splitsville.

If you cash my check, I promise I will get a divorce and marry my girlfriend.

I don't think so, not sure if they will even cash your check assuming you stated you were currently married on your application. The biggest parts to the initial filing process are that both parties have met within the last 2 years, and are FREE TO MARRY EACH OTHER. That is the 'fiance' part of the fiance visa process.

Oh they'll cash your check. There are no refunds.

For some odd reason, just getting the mail receipt back seemed like a milestone.

Come on NOA1!!! :D

Hi Mike & Jennie. I'm still new here and my responds is out of the question but I want to inform you guys that before applying for a K1 visa there is a requirement of a TWO YEARS relationship. My boyfriend & I is still waiting for our 2nd anniversary and we'll apply for k1 visa asap. Goodluck guys. ; )

Ms. Jasmine,
You don't have to wait for your two year anniversary, you just need to have met in the last two years, so if that is what you are waiting on, wait no more! File now and join in the waiting game!

Ohhhhhhh :o I really thought that it should be a two yr relationship... But anyways, its never too late... :) we will apply for the K-1 Visa ASAP! Thanks for the info guys. I appreciated a lot. ;)

Ms. Jasmine, by meet they also mean physically being in the same place, at the same time, and being able to prove it. So if you have proof of his last vist (see the guide for what it calls for) you are good to go! File, file, file... Then wait... wait... wait...

Oh my gosh! Ms. jasmine apply away....as others stated, you've had to have MET physically in the last two years!! You don't have to know eachother for a full two years before you apply.

Good luck!

Good luck Bebop!

Thanks. :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAtlanta Immigration
Oh trust me Daisy ,Atlanta will not be my POE after I get the K1! I've had enough of Officer Butler last week.
Unfortunatley there's some other personal (financial) problems right now and we have to wait with filing the I 129F now anyway. We hope to put it in in May........
So my son and I should still be able to come back by the end of the year.
Heartbreaking-YEAH.Don't remind me.I can't stand the thought of having to leave my man in just two weeks.I could just cry every time I think of it............
