K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWithdrawing I129 petition?
Sorry and very understanding to hear how you are feeling. Hang in there!

The best revenge you can get on CSC is to hold on a little longer, get your approval. Then come here, marry your beloved and live a long and happy life together!

They seem to be trickling in, the March approvals, hopefully yours will be coming along here soon! Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProcessing location moved from Nebraska to California
Hi bowhunter. We had the same experience, although much better satisfaction. Nebraska is the proper place to mail your petition to, depending on your location. They are then to be transferred to California.

You should not have lost the two months though, that bites!

Since you apparently filed in March, have you gotten your IMBRA RFE yet? This will also delay your petition, as there was a form vs law problem for filers in March such as yourselves.

As you can see below on our timeline, the sending to Nebraska, transfer to California cost us a day, but that is nothing compared to what appears to have happened in your case.

Your NOA1 form actually lists a May NOA1 date??? I hope the rest of your journey goes swiftly from this point on.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTO YOU ALL !

Good evening,
For those who were so nice and friendly to help me............THANK YOU (F)
For those who had a problem with my question in dutch (flemish), sorry..........I thought, since this is a int.site that I could ask something in dutch or french or english or italian, because those are languages I speak and write, so sorry for not being so smart ! ! !
Well i'm thankfull to those who helped me out and hoped to read you all soon !
Bye.................for now.............Nicky (F)

I didn't respond to your question in Flemish as I could not understand it lol

If some reacted by making you think you were stupid for posting in your native language, I am sorry. Not everyone reacts very well to the stresses this process generates. Hope you got an answer to your question!

Good luck on your journey!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresExample Reform Letter to send to USCIS/DHS/Congress

Great feedback! I've updated it. Thanks!

Progress has been made on processing times?

I am not in the 'right to complain' category yet, and hopefully we won't be. But my take on Gary's timeline is that the progress with regards to improving processing times appears to be random, and approvals sporadic with CSC. Surely every case is different, so there will be some applications which get quicker approval than others, but there appears to be no across the board progress, or even a hint of fairness for those left behind in the IMBRA debacle.

Otherwise, the letter seems to be well written.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAddress Change
Do you have your cashed check yet? If so, you could get the case number off the back, and call the customer service line immediately to change your mailing address. If your step mom has the NOA1, then she has your case number as well... Yikes!

Vermont's Service Center Customer service line should be on the USCIS website, or someone using them could give you the number. You need your case number ASAP!

Good luck!

Best of luck on your journey!

Did you list your current address in Brazil as to where the NOA1 will be mailed once it is received? If so it will be a while before you get your case number. Since you are going through Vermont, who knows? You could get your approval before you even get your NOA1 in the mail!

To make it easier I used my mailing address as a current address i hold in the U.S. I am going back in Ocotber so i used this address for all information and notifications. I heard Vermont moves fast but i also heard that cases are transfered to the CSC which will take more time

Cases from Nebraska and Texas Service Centers are transfered to California (ours was, from Nebraska.) So you won't have that issue. And you have a very good chance of returning home in October with your case approved since you are going through Vermont! Good luck!

So its not helpful,

Our NOA1 is just 5 days after yours, it will be interesting to find out how close our NOA2's wind up... But... the processing date does seem to be a big huge nothing, so hang in there!

That is the truth. Well said ready4ONE. You are well versed here!!!

I know it is too early for me to be a legit complainer... Hope springs eternal that our process won't take too long, but it does appear there is only this one constant... the California service center is slowwwwwwwwwwwww!

Finding out they went backwards in time on current cases being processed leaves me with the urge to :ranting:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow long for NOA1
That does seem like a long time to wait for NOA1. Nebraska received our packet on August 8, and it took until August 21st to get the physical NOA1 in the snail mail.

During that time, our petition was sent from Nebraska to the California Service Center...

Given the quixotic nature of the system, you will likely get your NOA1 eventually, good luck! Hang in there!

On the plus side, your NOA1 date won't be affected by the delay in your receiving the actual NOA1 in the mail. So while frustrating I am sure, your NOA1 date should be fairly close to the date your petition was received at the service center.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAnyone K-1 over 100 days from CSC?
Way too soon to be discouraged Iceyspots! But I do feel very sorry for the stragglers, and can hardly help at this stage wondering if our file won't one day wind up on the desk of the processor in California who appears to be sending a blow up doll to sit at his desk all day while he is off doing god knows what.

No one in the office notices because the blow up doll is now completely hidden by the pile of unprocessed K-1's which have now built up there!

I picture this clown's supervisor walking by daily, amazed at how much work this true gem of the office is willing to take upon himself. And the supervisor nominating him as 'Employee of the Month' for 6 months running!

One day my popcorn will be valuum and my cola everclear as I watch helplessly on the sidelines people in Vermont getting 2 week approvals while my application sits gathering dust at the desk of CSC's Employee of the Year!... :pop:

My heart is bleeding for you guys. I can't imagine the pain and disappointment many of you stragglers are experiencing. :( It is great you can joke about it all. What a travesty.

This is one club I am terrified J and I will some day perhaps belong to.

I realize we mere mortals are not meant to understand, or heaven forbid question, the wisdom of this process, but if the California Service Center is taking 6 months and longer to process K-1's and Vermont is taking 12 -15 days, why are the applications of multiple service centers no longer processing K-1's being sent to Cali??? Why not send them to Vermont for processing???

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFk Fk Its unfair

Im sorry they are giving you the run around with this. Did you send them other documentation in place of the BC? Such as baptismal certificate, school records, affidavits from parents or close family relative.

gugu24, take Aussie's advice. It is one of the best on VJ.

The amazing thing is that she is Australian and understands US immigration better than everyone here, with the exception of Yodrak.

Yodrak undoubtedly is the master of fact, on this board. Although Aussiewench runs a close second, with charisma.

Cheers Aussiewench!!!

How long before Aussie gets her greencard and we can nominate her to head CSC????

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCustomer Service CSC style
This will be nothing for the old hands here who have likely gone through the California Service Center's customer service line but I had my first experience with them today...

Hopefully it works out ok, but there was a very minor problem with my address on my NOA1 form, the street I live on is 7th street, but the form simply said 7. Well... figured I would get that fixed despite the successful post office delivery of the NOA1...

Waded through the long string of automated choices... And got a living human after about ten minutes... Bad but could have been worse...

So... before he could help me he had to run through a list of possible reasons I might be calling... Ummmm why not just ask me? But ok...

After he ran down the canned list of reasons for which I might be calling, all of which were answered with 'No' he seemed a tad perplexed, so I just told him...

This is a simple fix to my address... Just want to add th to the street name, otherwise everything was just dandy with the information on my NOA1 form...

So... I wound up having to give him my case number, which I had dialed in during the initial automated choices phase (wondering why I bothered.) And had to give him all of the information as to my address, spelling of my name, spelling of fiance's name, my citizenship and country of birth, her citizenship and country of birth... My birth date... Her birth date...

Apparently he was not at a computer hooked into a database where the simple change I requested could be easily entered once he identified me as being the person I claimed to be...

I should expect a letter informing me of the response to my request in about 30 days and was given a huge incident number in case this whole thing somehow goes horribly wrong...

I sure hope this does not wind up doing more harm than good, but figured I would share the experience...
