K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI feel very unlucky
I would certainly hope so! And wow, quite a story. There appears to be little rhyme or reason to the approval application process and clearing out the older applications appears to be a priority. Hold on a little while longer, which I am sure is very difficult, but your approval will indeed come.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat is the visa approving process?

At Vermont, the application assembled into a file by people who do that, then sent to adjudication and entered into their records (NOA1) then enters the adjudication queue. The adjudicators look at files when they make it to the front of the queue and either approve or RFE.

At California, the application is assembled into a file by people who do that, then sent to adjudication and entered into their records then put in a storage box at the back of the third stall on the second floor ladies' bathroom. Sometimes they move the boxes to clean the toilets, this is known as a "touch." Once every four months, the CSC adjudicator hauls out a box to go through the files and either approves or issues RFE or, if he feels like it, tosses aside unopened. Then he glues the applications to his office ceiling. It takes three to six months for the glue to weaken sufficiently for an application to drop back to the floor. Every morning when he first arrives he picks up the applications that have fallen from the ceiling, and because they have shown the most effort, forwards them to mailroom so the applicants can be notified.

P.S. I made that up.

Five stars!!! :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI need some help here!

Why is it so difficult to get marriage annuled in Phil? Monoply of church?

It is taken very seriously, the concept of marriage in the Phillipines, and the Catholic Church has a lot to do with it. One of my friends there took over two years to get her marriage ended.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI need some help here!
My understanding of it is that if she were married in the Catholic Church it is quite a difficult process to get a divorce. But I know from some friends there who have gone through it, it can be done. It is expensive and takes a considerable amount of time.

I believe, if her marriage was a civil ceremony it would be a lot less time consuming to get a divorce in PI.

Either way it is possible, and the system does work to discourage divorce, but it can be done if there is a lot of effort put into it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about Declaration of How We Met
The question is very specific as to the actual face to face meeting(s) you have had in the last two years. Provide as much supporting documentation as you can, like plane tickets, hotel bills, visa/mastercard charges in her country at the time you visited, and secondarily pictures and you are good to go on this question.

Thanks for all the replies especially to you aussiewench. I appreciated a lot. ;)

Good luck on your journey! And listening to Aussiewench is always wise. ;) Follow the guides, triple check everything, and make sure you make copies of everything you submit (some of which will be copies of copies, the guide will tell you what original documents to submit, such as the i-129F form, the G-325A's, and the letters of intent to marry.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresand Photos...

I have exclusively digital photos with no dates (can't stand them messing up a picture) - in various recommendations I've seen most mention of having the photos printed and putting the info on the back. Sure I've done that. However, what's wrong with color laser printing them, say 2 to a sheet, captioning each photo with who, when and where? On my color laser it looks like a color copy you get at the local office supply store. That way the pics are not loose, but organized and part of the package fastened together.

thoughts?

That is exactly what I did, printed from digital, which is all I use anyway. My program prints up the details of when the photo's were taken as a caption below. I filed them two to a page, a few pages worth. Should not present any problem for you at all!

Good luck on your journey!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSeek some ideas on passport matter for K-1 visa...
Good luck Marie. Probably would be a good idea for you to start the process of getting your passport as soon as possible. Your K-1 application could languish at CSC forever, but you could get your approval rapidly, so best to be prepared for either eventuality.

I also want to say I hope your meeting goes wonderfully, I imagine you are very excited. Ingat!

Wanting to slow the process down is a strange problem to have, and I completely understand the reaction of some of the March filers. But for me, it gives me some extra hope that maybe, just maybe, our case won't take forever to get approved!
