Double check your NOA1 hard copy - it came from CSC.

There is another active thread of other petitioners in the same situation where late september approvals are hung in limbo somewhere

Yeah, our approval came on 21 Sep and no one seems to know where it's at. Five weeks this Thursday and NVC still doesn't have it.

One more thing to try and not freak out about... Hope they find your files soon, how sad and ridiculous!

Wow! (L) What a true love story! Congratulations and much respect for your patience and obvious dedication to one another. Very sorry that the process took as long as it did, I can think of little or no excuses for such treatment. But now that it is finally over, your wait, it is nice to see you are feeling not bitterness, but clearly joy! :D

Best of luck to you two.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresYAY! I KNOW WHAT MY TOUCH IS FOR!

I got about the same message almost a month ago. My congressman's office sent a letter saying CSC was "reviewing the merits of the case" on Sept 29. Still nothing!!!!

Even they get a Congressional Inquiry they still could drag their feet. I mean, how long can it take to review? There's only so many pages of evidence!!

I hope your's doesn't go to the desk mine is on, for your sake. Nobody should have to wait this long when they have the manpower to process it, they just don't care obviously.

230 friggin days. My luck I'll get put on AR at the Embassy too. :crying:

I sincerely hope you both get your approvals soon. At some point it is approve or get off the pot! ;)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThe New CSC/NSC/TSC timelines are posted

Gary, have a rookie question for you... How do I link my timeline in my profile?

At the top of the page you see "my assistant"? Click on that. The click on "add/edit" your timeline.
You will need to put in the email address you used when you sign up. From there just plug in the dates.
Then when you are done just click on the button at the bottom to update your timeline.

Thanks! Think I got it now ;)

I realize this might be partly redundant, but here goes anyway... How many of us with July NOA1's were finally touched this week but haven't received an e-mail, snail mail or have a status update on the USCIS website?

Also, were any July NOA1's touched this week. Then didn't get an e-mail or update on USCIS website but got an NOA2 or RFE via snail mail?

Did you inquire them about your case?

Yep, called USCIS hotline yesterday afternoon. Then about 4 hours later they finally updated our status on-line. Just wondering why they'd say they sent a response. Seems odd to me. Any ideas? If it's approval, they should update with an approved status and e-mail. Not a we sent you a response e-mail.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresODD RFE Email From USCIS!!

OK so to keep your sanity follow the simple rule... Trust only paper documents from USCIS.

Electronic emails, touches, and status changes or lack thereof cannot be trusted.

You just need to wait now and see what letter shows up in your mailbox. Good luck!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresODD RFE Email From USCIS!!

"On October 23, 2006, we responded to your request for more information concerning your case".

This is not an RFE. It is a generic e-mail response that they send when a request for information is made. If you called them to ask about the status of your case, they send this response. If you did not call, it is a simple error.

Kitkat1, thanks! Yep, called the USCIS hotline yesterday afternoon. USCIS, someone named "T Akao" signed for the RFE info reply I sent on 16 Oct 06. He/she signed for it on 17 Oct 06 at 11:01am. I called USCIS and asked if I could get confirmation they had received it, as the last update on the USCIS webpage still showed "RFE sent". Shortly after got a touch saying "we responded to your request for more information".

Didn't really make sense. If they send an RFE shouldn't they say say "RFE sent"? If USCIS approves they should say "approved". Hence the confusion.

Then a few hours later, the USCIS status changed to the old "RFE sent" back in Sep 06 message that was there before.

Basically wondering what's going on. We feel like ping pong balls at the moment... Have no idea what's going on and haven't received confirmation of receipt for RFE info sent.

hehehe...Alright! Congrats and hope you'll get your approval soon! :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:

Thanks Steven and Jinky! One step closer... Now at least some of the confusion is gone! And we all know that the USCIS system isn't "down".

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCSC inquiry response to my senator's office

Think for a minute. Has anyone seen a CSC response such as this?

They cannot say approved yet, or give the BS party line, because that ain't gonna fly now. Mark my words, barring problems with the case, Kit will be approved in a matter of days.

I like your thinking and I know this response is better than "the file has been placed in line for processing". But that "in transit" ####### makes me think it will still be some time.

Why couldn't they say it was "in the stupid adjudicator's sweaty hands and he's trying not to spill his dunkin donut's coffe on it"?

At some point I suppose positive thinking goes out the window. Kitkat your case has been very poorly handled, but perhaps William has a point this is a unique response. I sure hope so! Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureswhere is the noa2 that makes lots of people get worry?
The problem with the theory that "your wait is not long enough to complain about" is that there is no way to know how long your wait will be. When your application goes to CSC you have to figure there is a reasonable chance that your application will perhaps take six to eight months to process. Not because you messed up the application. Not because your case is more complicated than others. Simply by virtue of the service center. That is what is hard to take.

I think it is grotesque, the waits many have endured. I hope their individual nightmare ends. But I think it is reasonable to start complaining and worrying after a couple months. Many from VSC get approval in a matter of mere weeks.

The 'not knowing' is what makes it ok to worry no matter how long or short your application wait is.

Having said that, good luck to you hope! I understand your frustration and anxiety!

Sooner or later this will be you ---->

You can write see attachments, and then flesh out the meetings (face to face) you two have had in the last two years on a new sheet of paper, or two.

Just remember to add all the documentation of the visits i.e. plane tickets, hotel reservations, receipts from your spending, cash machine receipts are assume too. Anything to prove you two were together, in the same place at the same time. (VJ has a great set of tips on what to include with your K-1 application, I would check it out too in the guides.)

Include photo's of you two together as well, but they are less important than the above items...

Good luck on your journey!
