K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNVC new case number

Hello everyone, we finally received our new case number today from NVC. CSC finally sent me e-mail yesterday stating I had been approved, after almost a month ago receiving the approval in the mail. So I called NVC again today and they said it was mailed to Brazil today as well. I am so happy I think I might piss my paints.

Check those emails... Did your emailed approval show November 2, 2006 as your approval date?

Our snail mail NOA2 was dated October 13, 2006, but the email approval notices (6) which came yesterday said our re-approval date was NOVEMBER 2! :hehe:

Congratulations on getting your NVC letter though! Getting out of CSC is a very good thing!

Wish I knew where our petition is at the moment! I emailed NVC this morning detailing our situation but have not gotten a response yet.

Ok hopefully this makes you feel better, I am now in the category of those who just learned NVC does/did have our approved petition and is sending it along to the proper consolute... I just got the NVC letter in the mail. :D

CSC must have had a major glitch in their Windows 3.1 system!

My guess is you are experiencing the same thing! Good luck!

 Oh where oh where have our doubly approved K-1's gone...

Virtually the same story here... :hehe:

Best of luck to you, it is starting to sound like quite a few in this situation are learning their cases silently went through NVC and are now at or on the way to the proper consulates...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCSC Quality Service.......

So, just thought I'd let people know. I was approved 10/12/06, not by email or web check at USCIS. I was told last week that my case had already been through NVC and was forwarded to the embassy. Yesterday, I was notified by email, 5 times, that my case was approved on 11/2/06 and I was sent the NOA2, again I guess they meant to say. Anyone else received anything like this?? Just wondering and glad to see CSC is as efficient as ever. :-)

PS Congrats to the newly approved.

Except that our first NOA2 was dated October 13, 2006, receiving the hard copy in the snail mail October 19, we got the exact same treatment. With 6 emails from USCIS yesterday indicating our case and been approved AGAIN on November 2, 2006...

I would gladly give away our second NOA2. We have no idea where our petition is right now. I emailed NVC today letting them know what had occurred and attempting to find out if they had received our petition after the first approval. No response yet, and nothing from NVC in the snail mail...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures2nd notice
Very similar timeline and situation as ours. Got multiple emails stating our petition was approved November 2nd, after getting a hardcopy NOA2 October 19th showing an approval date of October 13th.

Today I got our NVC letter, and it was dated November 2nd, indicated they had gotten our petition, given it a new number, and within a week would be on its way to Abu Dhabi Consulate.

It appears the November 2 RE-approval notices were some type of CSC glitch. Many others are now reporting that NVC and/or the proper consulate now have their petitions, so hang in there, you are probably in the same boat. Keep an eye out for your NVC letter. Godd luck on the rest of your journey!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresplease help me!
I am not an expert, but I don't think he needs any sort of special form. He simply needs to write a letter asking for a waiver, explaining why he is now filing for a new K-1 for you, and what happened with the other person for whom he filed the earlier K-1.

You may get better answers from others on here, but it is not the end of the world. Good luck on your journey!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion on How to Assemble the I-129F
Don't worry or stress too much on presentation. If you decide to use an ACCO fastener, use it to bundle everything including your passport photos together into one packet.

A brief cover letter indicating what you are applying for, with a table of contents listing what you have included in your K-1 application will suffice.

Fancy folders, splitting the submission into numerous sub-categories and groupings etc. will create more work than help for the adjudicator.

Follow the guides on this site!

Good luck on your journey!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTwo NOA2s

Hey guys, you know what it could be? I don't know if you noticed but they updated the uscis.gov website yesterday. So maybe that's why this happened, maybe it was a delayed system.

Hope so, the first NOA2 was sure a lot more fun to receive!

Good luck to all of us stuck at CSC...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCSC APPLICANTS STOP GETTING EXCITED WHEN YOU GET NOA2s
We were approved October 13th, and our case has already been through NVC and is on its way to the proper consulate.

There may have been a brief glitch in September, but CSC seems to be coming along slowly, if not to Vermont efficiency, at least to a much higher degree of efficiency than during the March to September period.

I say celebrate the heck out of CSC NOA2's.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMy journey is about to start!!!
Lot's of documentation there, hopefully not too much. If I were you, I would create a table of contents page and carefully number each of your documents, but send it as one bundle, perhaps bound by an ACCO fastener instead of separated by so many envelopes. The person processing it will have to open each individually, perhaps in a state of annoyance. Just my thought on the matter.

Make two copies of the whole thing, and if possible scan it electronically as well.

Beyond that, best of luck on your journey!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiancé visa - how long can it take?

This really helps me to get an impression....
Yeah, waiting is awful .. but you all went through it.
But it is allowed to go to the US with a tourist visa although
the fiancé visa is in process?

The wait time definitely varies too widely to give a definitive answer as to how long it can take. Coming from Germany though, you should have no problem traveling to the USA while the petition is being processed. You will want to be prepared to show proof you still have ties and intent to return to Germany.

And of course, if you visit DO NOT GET MARRIED!

Otherwise, good luck on your journey!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureshas anyone done the K2 for younger kids
Hello miss,

Our situation is the reverse, with myself having two young children ages 5 and 8 now. My fiance has always been supportive of, and understanding, that I could not leave my children behind to be with her. When I visited with her (finally) it was during a particularly rough part of an ongoing custody struggle with my x wife. The temptation to chuck it all and just stay with my fiance was great. But my fiance encouraged me to stick it out, return home and see it through, and now I have primary custody.

If your ex husband will not give you permission to leave the country with your children, perhaps your fiance should consider moving to you and your kids. I agree with the other posters, that at your children's ages, they should not be left without you.

If your ex husband won't give his permission, another option could be to go to court in your country and seek judicial permission to move your children.

Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresabout the case number
I hope someone more experienced here on VJ will jump in, but it sounds like your second stab at applying has gone wrong as well. Your case number should not be just four numbers, and not cashing the check is not a hopeful sign either. Just sending in the wrong fee can get your package rejected...

Can you have your fiance double check what he/she sent in against the guides on this site?

When you say he/she received notice the service center had gotten your packet in September, did he/she get that notice from the postal service or the California Service Center and an actual NOA1 form?

Sorry you two are having so much trouble, but just guessing you may need to provide a little more information before anyone can really help.

Good luck!

Hi everyone. Just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving and um..finally we've se1nt our I-129F again, for the 3rd time. Please please wish me luck!

3rd Time????? What happened the first two times?

Well, the 1st one, the I-129F forms were expired....we didn't know it COULD expire. While the second time.. we don't know. The package NEVER reached VSC and the check was never cashed...it's just...gone. This third time, we overnighted it with USPS and we've made sure that it's there. =/ I really hope this one would work or both of us would go crazy.

Hope the third time is the proverbial charm! Good luck on your journey!

Dean and Chicago, it just kills me to see couples getting this sort of mistreatment. I hope you guys can hang in there a bit longer, get some justice, and obviously be with your significant others.

I think printing and sending Gary's list to your respective congress person's is a great idea.

Good luck to you both, and to everyone still waiting well past the point of reason.

I don't have too much to add, beyond all you can do is wait with CSC. 2 to 3 months appears to be their normal processing time now, and you should be expecting your NOA2 any time now. Others are waiting far longer than you however, and the process is for sure impossible to predict.

Good luck, hang in there, you will be approved sooner or later!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestions on K-1
First off, good luck on your journey!

I am not an expert by any means, but I would suggest that you write a separate note regarding the reversal of date issue. The G-325A as originally signed by her should probably not be altered after the fact by you. That would be my advice. It seems pretty reasonable that she intended November 2nd, not February 11th as her date of signing, especially if her letter of intent is similarly dated.

Anyway, that is how I would suggest handling the date problem. Again, good luck!
