US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionEVIDENCE OF CURRENT SUSTAINED INCOME
my fiancee just finished her interview at the manila embassy but was given a noticed stating that they are not able to complete the process of the immigrant visa application until we present the EVIDENCE OF CURRENT SUSTAINED INCOME from me (the petitioner). I am fairly confused on what to do next. I am stressed, worried, cant sleep or even eat. This is so overwhelming. We are so close and yet so far. Can anyone please help us out there? can someone shed some light? We are planning to have her go back on monday with copies of my current paystubs from present to a years past, w2's from 2009, 2008 and even 2007 and my bank statements. will that be sufficient? or would i need to re-do the whole affidavit of support over ontop of that proof? can anyone give me all the examples of current EVIDENCE OF SUSTAINED INCOME to satisfy the embassy?? thankyou for all your help and i look forward to anyone with an answer.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionUAE Embassy.. Has anyone been there for K1 Visa Interview

After reading all the interview from various embassy, I was just wondering if anyone had an interview in Abu Dhabi, UAE. As you can tell, my Jannu and I are waiting for our NOA2. And I just wanted to know if anyone would like to share their experience in the embassy. Im just pulling my hair just thinking about it :bonk:

My wife did her K-1 interview there, they were very nice, great experience. Being prepared and as relaxed as possible helped. Good luck!

Our review doesn't show on the list given earlier in this thread, too old perhaps, but her review is found in our time line.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionInterview: Approved...do we have anything else to worry about?

I just got a call from my fiancee and she just left the embassy! She said she was approved! They were really nice to her and everything. The officer who interviewed her said she was approved and should get her visa in less than a week. But is there a chance that they might look at the forms and decide they need something else and not issue us the visa?

I'm probably just worrying too much, but it's hard to settle down until she actually gets her visa.

Thanks!

Congratulations, Barry and Ami! That's great news!
Yes, there's always a chance something like that can happen. However, I'd say you guys are in the clear. When she gets the visa in hand, it's 100%!
Again, congratulations on the wonderful news!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionUK Interview - If I have Tax Transcripts do I need to send W2?

Hi All,

This is my first time starting a topic, so please forgive me if I'm doing this wrong.

I am about ready to send off my documents to my fiance for his K-1 Visa interview at the London Embassy on 12/9! I'm including my last 3 years of tax transcripts that I requested from the IRS. Since I have these, do I need to include my W2s or copies of my actual tax returns?
Honestly, I'm having trouble finding my 2009 W2- it's gotta be floating around here somewhere, just can't find it at the moment! I can keep looking for it, but I'd rather not if it's not needed. (Obviously I will need to find it at some point...)

Sorry if this is a silly question. Thank you for your help!

No, IRS tax transcripts contain all the info that your W2s have. IRS tax transcripts are sufficient.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionNBI CLEARANCE IS MAJOR STUMBLING BLOCK

Keep in mind you're in the Philippines, things never move quickly. Hope things move along quickly for you and if you find a secret to expedite this process I'm all ears.

Absolutely correct!

The NBI, like all other government offices in the Philippines, is 99.9% corrupt. Believe me, I've had years of dealing with gov employees. From LTO to NSO to NBI, they are basically all the same. Your patience to laziness and ignorance will definitely be tested.

There are ways to expedite the process. You just have to use your imagination.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionOnline Tracking for approved visa?

Thanks you

One thing I have a question towards air21 tracking... Can we track through Air21 even though the Embassy uses 2go? And if so what specific website would you use to track it..?

I apologize. I thought USEM Manila exclusively uses Air21 for sending passports/visas.
Here's the site for tracking 2GO packages.

Let me know if it works.

Markieboy,
Thank you for that info, I have not seen that yet. By the way, your avatar image is awesome, every time I see it, it reminds me of all the waiting..LOL
Just kind of kick back, spin a ball, and wait for some stranger to decide your future happiness..hahahaha

You're very welcome, Richard! I keep on trying the online scheduling system. Once the physical case is in the USEM's computer system, I'm sure the scheduling will work.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionManila interview date w/o file

Hey, a couple of questions please. First, can I get the link to that site that states "we will not be see without a letter" I don't remember reading that before.
If the letter comes in an email, where did they get the email address, all USEM has is my I-129 package from NVC, I just looked through it again and I do not see where mine or her email address is recorded for them?

Here's the link stating that "If you schedule an appointment, and any of the above conditions apply to you, you may not be interviewed, even if you present yourself at the Embassy on the scheduled date."
Condition (G) states "You have yet to receive a notification from the Embassy or the National Visa Center regarding your eligibility for scheduling an interview."

After scheduling an interview online, the applicant can download the appointment letter. I believe the USEM emails a "receipt" after scheduling the interview.

I hope this is what you're looking for. Good luck scheduling your interview date!

I would like to know if anyone here is on contraceptives and had their medical. I have a medical certificate stating I'm on injectible contraceptive. Would this complicate the medical?

No, being on an injectable contraceptive will not complicate your medical exam.
If anything, it will help your medical. One side effect of injectable contraceptive use is amenorrhea (the absence of menstrual bleeding), which is exactly what you want for urinalysis. :D

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionOut of time

If you want something done in a hurry in the Philippines, you need to get use to the idea of greasing the wheels. That goes for judges too. If the judge knows that your fiancée is planning to marry a 'Kano, you will need lots of grease.

Absolutely 100% correct!
It is sad, but true.

About the bribe money, it is unfortunate that your fiancee's case was raffled to a corrupt judge. Much as I hate to say this, give the judge his "expedite fee" just to get things going, otherwise he will sit on the case. Do not pay more than P5,000. If all goes well, the entire process will take 2-3 months.

I sthere anyone in the philippines that has even one once of brains. Fiance went to BPI to pay visa fee and the bank took the wrong amount and screwed everything up. now they say sorry money all gone to bad. PLZ what do we do i cannot keep theowing money and time into a country of idiots

I feel your frustration. It can be extremely frustrating dealing with people in the Philippines...especially, if you're accustomed to the American lifestyle. Believe me, I know.

But after living in the Philippines for years, I've learned that you attract more bees with honey than with vinegar. Your fiancée should know how to make pasipsip (ie sucking up) with people, whether in person or on the phone. It sounds weird to American folk, but in the Philippines, it works wonders. Instead of "fighting" every step of the way, it is best to take a more diplomatic approach with people. Yes, "grease" their wheels, as needed.

Again, this is only my advice and what has worked for me. Feel free to take it or leave it.
Hope other members, from Philippines subforum, can share their experience and insights. Good luck with your case.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionNational Visa Center in Portsmouth, New Hampshire?

Hello to all,
The title pretty much says it all but does ANYONE know how long the National Visa Center in Portsmouth, New Hampshire takes to process? AND is there any way I could possibly track it?

Anyone?

The processing time at NVC really depends on one's own initiative. If you (the petitioner/beneficiary) are proactive throughout this process, the time may range from 6-8 weeks. However, if you wait to receive all the NVC notices/emails, the processing time may take 8-12 weeks. It really depends how proactive one is.

I would highly recommend reading this guide. It was intended for CR-1/IR-1 applicants. However, I think alot of the information will be helpful to you. The guide really explains how to shorten the waiting time.

Do you mean tracking your application when NVC forwards it to USEM? Technically, there is no way to track your application. However, many people have had success using this method. Many have had success, many have not. I hope it works for you!

Good luck with your journey! Keep us posted!

US Embassy and Consulate Discussiongathering original docs for interview

Hello vj'ers. Our case is complete. What I wanted to ask is, do I need to gather original civil documents and bring to interview or the consulate will forward everything we sent including the AOS and W's of my petitioner to me? I really need help guys. Thanks in advance.

Hello and congratulations on a case completion!

Normally, NVC will forward all documents to the US Embassy. However, in some instances, some original documents come up missing. In these instances, the process will come to a screeching halt. The applicant/beneficiary would then be required to procure the necessary civil documents. No fun, if you're on a schedule.

If you're anything like me (a highly obsessive-compulsive, pessimistic person), I would highly suggest getting at least one (1) complete set of original civil documents (ie NSO birth certificate, NSO marriage certificate, NSO CENOMAR). Include these with a set of original, signed forms (specifically, the DS-230). I was surprised they asked for a signed DS-230 at the pre-interview. I already had submitted one at NVC stage. So, God only knows where it went. Fortunately, I had two signed copies.

My preparation may have been overkill, but I sure felt confident going to the interview. I highly suggest reading this guide, if you haven't already.

Good luck with your interview! Keep us posted!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionEVIDENCE OF CURRENT SUSTAINED INCOME

congratulations to you, my fiance finally went to on monday to the embassy to give them what they needed. i had prepared for her tax transcripts dating back since 2006, paystubs (a whole lot of it!....12 pages if i recall), diploma and even a statement letter from me stating why i had made less then the poverty guidelines from 2009 tax return. i also had prepared my current bank statement, plus my part-time job verification letter and paystubs and last but not least the w2 from 2009 (most current).

come to find out all they took from all of that was my paystubs from my fulltime job, current bank statement, my partime job verification and paystubs from that, my letter statement to them and the w2 from 2009. thats what they said was more then sufficient as evidence of sustained income.
they saw my diploma but said they didnt need it as well as the tax transcripts since 2006. they already had a copy of my w2 from 2009 but took this other one anyway...the new reviewer told my fiance that the initial reviewer overlooked it, can you believe that?

this time they took her passport from her and stated to her that a authroized air carrier will bring it to her with the visa.
they told us to wait 7-10 days. we are waiting.

Congratulations, bmagno23! Glad everything worked out for you!

Your fiance can adjust status after your marriage, and eventually receive her green card.
Hiring an attorney is not necessary, as many VJers have filed AOS themselves and have been successful.
Again, congratulations on such great news!

If she is using her personal income (from her business or elsewhere) then her most recent year's personal tax return (with all supporting documents) should be fine. Business license doesn't really play a part.

If she doesn't draw a pay check from the business then there may be other documents needed to prove income.

She said she of course has her most recent tax return but that it is probably 60 pages long. How am I to know what to get copies of or what does she need to send me.

...Something that hopefully doesn't involve her scanning in 60 pages and then me printing out those same 60 pages?

Hello fellow Vjers, it's worry professional Jamie again!

I'm starting to collect documents for the I134 and the packet 3 for my fiance, and need to know what my Mom needs as the Co-sponsor.

She owns her own business, so I was reading that what she should show is:

-Copy of last income tax return filed
-Report of Commercial Rating Concern (whatever that is)

Is it necessary for her to show a copy of her Birth Certificate and maybe even her business license? She is well able to provide above the 125% poverty line, but lives on the other coast of the states from me, and it's a bit hard to try and organize with her exactly what documents she needs to try and track down.

Any help would be wonderful, thank you!

Hello All:
So... I'm pretty sure Angel's got everything he needs to take to his interview. However, if someone wouldn't mind looking over it just to make sure I'm not missing something important, I would really really appreciate it.

Here's what he's got or what I will be sending him soon:

-NOA2 (Original + copy)
-Invitation letter
-Angel's passport (+ copy of the front page)
-Original I-129F
-Angel's Birth Certificate (+ copy)
-My Birth Certificate (+ copy)
-Unsigned DS-156 (+ copy)
-Unsigned DS-156 K (+ copy)
-DS-157 (+ copy)
-CDJ Form 402 Unsigned
-Letter stating why I am not there with him and my letter of intent to marry him
-2 X 2 passport photos of Angel
-Credencial de elector (+ copy)
-My I-134 Form
Including: Supplement stating that I am a full-time student and therefore don't yet have a full-time job. I included a chart of the 4 part-time jobs I have. I also included an enrollment certificate from my university. 3 years of tax transcripts, and a letter from my bank with information about my accounts.
-My parents I-134 Form
Including: 3 years of tax returns, my mom's W2s, Letter from my mom's employer, Letter from bank with information about her accounts

(Because my parents file taxes together, I had both of my parents fill out an I-134. I don't know if that's the best way to handle it. Let's hope it's ok.)

-Evidence of ongoing relationship- pictures, letters, emails, copies of packages, my flight itineraries, record of phone card I buy to call Mexico, and more...

Then he will have his Banamex receipt and medical results.

Now... he doesn't have to get a police certificate, or does he? I was under the impression that it wasn't necessary, but now I'm concerned that he should have gotten that a while ago. He's never committed any crimes, so he has no record with the police. Also, he does NOT have to fill out the DS-230, does he?? I've seen people post about that form, so that worried me too.

Thanks for your help everyone! I just want to make sure that he has everything he needs. He won't be going until late October, but I just want to try and calm my nerves a bit and reassure him he's got everything.

GRACIAS!!!!

Caity

Caity- Jorge did take a police certificate with him. They did ask for it. It also needed to be translated.... It took him about 2 weeks to get it too.... He had to go to Toluca?? to get it.....

I also didn't submit a letter for why I couldn't show up. They didn't even ask him. But the more the better! That's for sure!! good.gif \

Hey jmmr, quick question, i read somewhere, and because i have read so much stuff on everything about the fiance visa, i can not remember where i read it, but anyway, what did jorge wear to the consulate for his interview? I read that your supposed to dress like really nice, like the works, suit, tie, the best that you can, did jorge do that? if not what did he wear so i can tell my fiance alfredo to do the same thing. (p.s about the jelousy thing that your experiencing with jorge and his family, i get that all the time, now i dont feel so crazy. I know how it feels to want him completely for you and it is very hard to get over. I doubt i will every completely get over it, but I am trying my best to control it. Its hard, so best of luck to ya blush.gif

Hey thanks for that smile.gif It's ok. It's hard when plans change in that way the last minute....but I can't do anything about it.... BUT i managed to get Wednesday off, which is when he will arrive. I told him that I can't get the day off so that I can surprise him with balloons biggrin.gif We are even putting up a sign at our house that says "Welcome home" and we are having a BBQ to help him feel welcome smile.gif

Jorge dressed very nice. Not a suit and tie but he wore clothes like if were to work at a professional office. He didn't wear a tie. You know? Someone mentioned to me to wear something like "if you were going to church." I think it was NM123. That's what I told him and he dressed up but not too fancy. Something nice. Definetly not jeans and flip flops.

Good luck to you and all of that!!! wink.gif It'll be over before you know it. We have been working on this since around November... I'm including the research process as well. So it actually went by quickly. smile.gif

Anyone called before?

I called there on Saterday, and it cost 45 bucks to talk to someone who only made me more confused and he "couldnt" answer most of my questions b/c "it is different with every situation". My question that he wouldnt answer is if we could use the I-134 affidavit for the interview, i eventually got it out of him and he said no, dont use it, but i've been learning from people posting that is quite helpful, so i pretty much wasted 45 bucks. Your probably better off saving your money and waiting for responces online, its cheaper, and alot more effective. good.gif

Interesting... I called and it only cost me $9.00. I also recommend using the form because my fiance told me they did end up keeping it along with all the other forms. star_smile.gif

We're got the visa!!!!!!!!!!

SWEET!!!!!!!

Do most people go to El Paso to receive their work Permit? That might be a good idea.... if you guys recommend it, let me know smile.gif

Why does it take so long to receive packet 3? Today hits the 4 week mark...ehm I hope we get it sometime next week or before. What do they do in CDJ when they have the case in their hands?

NM123 big congratulations to you smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

Hello to everyone,

My wife is from Los Mochis Sinaloa and I live in Tri-Cities WA.

I have been browsing this thread for a while now and have a few questions,

1 anyone have any action on their petitions after all the transfers from VSC?
2 I recieved a RFE on 8/4 and all they needed was a signature that I over looked.CSC recived on 8/12 and have been waiting for two weeks now and no answer. Any one else with similar time line waiting?

Thanks in advance.

HI!! You only live about 2 hours from me; I live in Wenatchee. Where in the Tri Cities are you at?

1.) I filed mine through CSC, but after they sent the petition to NVC (National Visa Center) I found out that it only took 6 days to get there. (and this is from CA)... I found that out by calling 1-600-334-0700 dial 1, 5 to talk to a person after being put on hold.
Feel free to look at my timeline below so you can see how quickly they sent it out to Ciudad Juarez. It usually doesn't take long; some do, some don't.
You will receive your NOA2 hard copy soon, and you will also receive a letter from NVC after they send it to CDJ.

2.) I did not experience any RFE's, but I will suggest to you to call the service center.
Did you file through CSC or VSC? Either way, call and find out if they have any updates. I'm thinking you will get an email that will say that you are approved.

*I'm guessing you aren't approved yet but in the middle of an RFE, correct?
**Another thing I just realized after re-reading your post.... it looks like you are filing for a k3 not k1. I'm not sure if k3 shipping is any different than k1.....

I don't know if I was much help to you. Good luck to you either way smile.gif

Thanks again for taking the time to respond. A number of other people also suggested immigrate2us.com. I'll check it out soon, and report back my findings. Have a nice week.

Regards,
Marty

jmmr - No, you would need a certified copy of your certificate, not a notarized copy. Please refer back to that link for your state's vital records office, and it'll probably cost under $20. And the apartment sounds great!

Marty - I'm only somewhat familiar with the waiver process, but I think you should start visiting immigrate2us.net regularly and post some questions there about your situation to see what they recommend. There is a member named Laura Fern (she's one of the moderators of the site and is going to start law school in the fall), and also an immigration lawyer named Laurel Scott. I answered one of your lasts posts about the weekly chat they have there.

I only used a PLAIN PHOTOCOPY of my fiance US Birth Certificate and they gave me my K1 Visa the same day (June-05-08). For some reason I'll always remember that day!!!

THANKS!! THAT'S GOOD TO KNOW!!! star_smile.gif

OK I think i've already made up my mind that I would just send him my birth certificate. But i have another question. I am in the process of preparing the rest of the documents for Jorge to go to his interview:

DS 156
DS 156 K
I 134 affidavit of support (mine)
Fiance letter of intent to marry
FIancee letter of intent to marry Mexico citizen
I'm also going to get a letter signed by my supervisor stating that i make above poverty level for support.

Does jorge need ALL orginals? I mean the receits that I brough home from Mexico and my plane tickets and things like that? I did turn in copies but I am wondering if he has to present that they are originals.....

-- am i missing anything else? Do we need to send more pics?
