K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	March 08 Filers through CA Service Ctr	Hello All~ So far it's been great having Jorge around. We are having a rough time finding an apartment that is suitable for our needs and affordable. We are having this tough time because a lot of people don't like the fact that he doesn't have an SSN.... so they hink we are suspicious, even if we show the visa. Jorge has been looking around since I work. I also started school on Monday OY OY OY Stress stress stress! We may even get married this Saturday!!! We are going through the court first, and we are planning to have a VERY nice ceremony/reception in the spring of 2009. I hope everybody is doing great Take care! And i hate asking my supervisor for time off when it is so close. She is the best supervisor but I hate asking for so much. She already gave me a whole month off last year.... It's very rare I call in sick... but I just don't feel like it's the right time to get the day off. i'll see. Even if she says no it's ok. How are you doing in your process???? HOLY MOLY!! The prices for the luggage sure went up. So we moved it up one day.. he will arrive on Wedensday.. that saves him almost $200... one more day saves us money. I posted that quickly during work I just couldn't wait til i got off! He actually changed his plane ticket to fly back to MX City tonight; he is flying now! He should be home at 9:00 PM here. PHEW! He REALLY wants this. It's funny. He's so cute. I feel really weird! I don't believe that it is real. It's hard to explain. I am happy but at the same time i don't believe myself. I also feel so many different emotions that I am very tired. I want to sleep. He will be here Saturday if we find a cheap enough ticket!! OH SOMETHING ELSE!!!! That lady from that nice apartment called me today asking me if i was still interested because there is another one available in a couple of weeks! TALK ABOUT PERFECT TIMING!!!! I do understand the money issue, but that's tough when you have the ticket in your hands and you don't take it. It's tough. I hope you guys can figure something out so he can get to the US much quicker. it's hard enough having to be apart for this process. I don't know. I wish you the best. I know I wouldn't be able to wait until March..... I would if I absolutely HAD to. Jorge made it to the hotel and they told him that they gave away his reservation so he had to find another hotel to stay at. Luckily, there was one available 3 streets down. PHEW! ALso... as soon as he got there, we talked for a few minutes then the phone shuts off.... AGH!!!!! I tried and tried and tried calling him until this morning. I was worried sick!!! He finally calls me at work and explains to me what happenend. He is ok Passed through the medical just fine. He said he had to get naked He has a cute toosh. Jorge has made it to Ciudad Juarez safely he had me worried because he told me he would get there at 10:50 his time; that would be 8:50 my time.... and as soon as 9:50 my time hit...he calls me. I wasn't aware that Juarez was an hour difference from Mexico City. So really it took him 3 hours to get there, not 2. He says he might skip work tomorrow because he feels so nervous. He said today that he couldn't concentrate at work at all, and that everyone at work kept mentioning that he was acting weird; he is very nervous. I am really scared= There was another post posted on The Foreign Embassy thread.... I guess they were denied because of her story changing from meeting through the net, to having an uncle in the same city the petitioner lives at. I met jorge through his uncle a long time ago. In fact, we still communicate every once in a while. Especially since we are so close to finishing this process! he wants to help out with the wedding and work.... OK So they were denied. Do you guys think this is not a legid story?????? I replied to him/her privately and he/she told me that it is very common for family members in the US to pay a USC for the foreigner to come to the states.. I hope this isn't the case. I didnt even think about that!! It's not something that crossed my mind because it is what hapened... you kno???? I think they were denied for changing the story. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	March 08 Filers through CA Service Ctr	Just wanted to update you guys on our process. I have been super busy getting things ready and trying to find plane tickets and such. Jorge received his packet today! He said the packet looks good!! He is very, very happy about being soooooo close to being in the states. Also, we bought a plane ticket for his fligh to Juarez on Sunday. We were able to find one that he is able to work that day and arrive that same day. He leaves at 9:15 PM and arrives at 10:50 PM Sunday Night. It cost $505, but it was a challenge to find one where he can fly that night and get there that night. His goal is to be able to go to his medical on Monday morning and if possible his interview on Tuesday. I don't know if i have already told you guys all this but just wanted you to know that we have the plane ticket ready, the hotel, and the packet all ready. All we need now is for it to be Sunday I am going to get my hair dyed this weekend my natural color! (It's half brown!!) I'm so excited! I want to also buy a pretty dress so i can show up at the airport with a white rose for him I want to look super cute for him!!!!! I am soooo excited and sooooo nervous too!!!!!! Thanks everyone for all the support I don't think I could have done this without this website!!!! It definetly helped a ton!!!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	March 08 Filers through CA Service Ctr	Hello Caity! Yea I think it cost so much because of how quickly they would send it to him. It was like the best kind of shipment.... i guess. It is though, because whenever I shipped it through the regular postal service it would take longer than the estimated time.... I hope this time it will be ok. I was at first thinking that JOrge would have to wait 1 day after his med.... then later I found out he doesn't... i keep trying to tell him that but he wants to be sure. Just in case... i guess. If he can go on Tuesday I am sure he will. He's smart He'll figure that out. We are right now, this very minute, trying to find plane tickets... he has to work on Sunday... so it's a challenge to fly out sunday, get there sunday and be able to be at the front door monday morning. I didn't know he had to work Sunday...... He said they only gave him 4 days +1 his day off next week... It will work out. Caity-That's too cool that we are tied. Jorge would like to fly up to Juarez on the 8th. We'll see if that is possible. I still don't have a place. I will probably see if that other one is available, or others like it for the end of Sept. My dad says he can live here while we look for a place. I really don't want to do that, though. We'll see. So far everything seems to be going smoothly. Phew. Stevi- You are so close too!! It won't be long before he gets to go to his interview. HOW FUN! Packet 3 is sent off. Now you guys wait for the interview date, correct? Are you going to accompany him to the interview? I'm sure Josh is busy with interviews and such. I'm hoping he got nathalie up here by this week. He did say first of sept right? Maybe they are busy catching up Josh- if you're around, give us an update. As for everybody else. Keep us posted; i like knowing where we all stand. I'm excited!!!! Here I go again with my crazy schedules I love it though, keeps me on my toes! I have been having to work out of town in a place named Waterville, Washington AKA Hick town! So many weird people live there!! I've been working there at the branch because they are short-staffed... but it was an experience! Lot's of strange folks Still nothing new. Same same same. No packet yet. I give it 2-3 weeks... nah 2 weeks! I feel it in my bones! I also need to dye my hair before he comes!!! My grays are hideous!!! Too much stress! I have my paperwork just about complete; I have my 157 on my computer uploaded so I can finish it this weekend. I have been tired from driving back and forth. I have been putting off looking for places because it just excites me too much and I let myself down knowing that it's not the right time yet! I am SO glad you guys are all moving right along Everything seems to be going well. And stevi...those bumps are nothing Keep your head up! Caity! I still have no packet 3, but it looks like it usually takes 5 weeks coming from Ciudad Juarez...so hopefully 2 more weeks and I will have my packet. I do, however, have all my documents filled out... I just finished I 134 affidavit of support, ds 156 k and ds 156. I also printed out the intent to marry that he has to sign in front of his interviewer. The only thing I have left is to print out a copy of my deposits made into my regular checking account, have my supervisor sign a form that states that I do make enough, especially since i just got a raise... and make copies of all the forms. I am so happy that it is just about ready. i also am working on getting everything in a small binder and making it look snazzy. From my understanding...I get the packet because Mexico's mail system is "so" bad.... so usually the USC gets it. Oh well. Whether he or I receive it... I am going to just wait. Or.... that's what they told us to do. The packet I receive has a letter that will tell him he can go in to the interview whenever. And he has to take that letter with him to the interview............. That's MY understanding of it. I have made another thread about the whole BC issue and I agree that it is nonsense to have the USC send Original BC and passport.... I will not send my original passport, but maybe my BC? The guy I spoke with from CDJ must have thought I was the beneficiary. he's stupid. I told him i live in Washington. ********IF HE DOESN'T NEED THAT LETTER!!! HE WOULD BE THERE IN A HEART BEAT!!! (not yelling at you, just got excited)******* Yep. I am just waiting on that packet 3 so that we can get that silly little letter that is an open invitation so i can over night it to him and then he can go and then he can come and then we can be together and have babies!!!!!!!!! Just kidding. I'm just excited! I can't wait! BTW I have talked to someone in the embassy, supposedly....but jorge told me that I'm not actually speaking to someone there, just someone in a call center that doesn't know what they are talking about. I was not able to get my birth certificate like I thought. I had to call Puerto Rico to get one. I did. I talked to the nicest lady!! OMG There's not many Puerto Ricans where I live so it was nice to speak Spanish like I normally do to someone who speaks it the same. Every hispanic here is Mexican so they think I talk funny. I do have an accent in Spanish. Anyways... Jeez i ramble. It will take more than 6 weeks to get it, and she didn't even know how long it would take, but she kept saying that it would take a VERY long time... SO I came into the conclusion that I have to send Jorge my real passport and birth certificate. I am going to send it UPS since the building is down the block from his house. I can't come up with any other conclusions. I even thought about going down there, but I tried to search for plane tickets for 1-2 weeks in advance........... yea about 900 dollars. YEA RIGHT! After 2 days of stressing out.... No apartment just yet. We are going to live with my dad for a little tiny while. When he is here, I will take a few days off from work to find a place. It's not that hard to. I think I have a clear head now. I called CDJ again, and the same guy answered. He says they still have not sent out the packet 3 that it can take 1 month to 1 month and a half.... I hope it doesn't. I want the packet NOW! Oh well. I can only do so much. I am happy that you are moving right along with your case. That is awesome. I wish I could do something to move mine along. THEN on my lunch break, I called a different place about an apartment that is 650... I drove by it and realized how much a better deal i would be getting at this 760 one.... ugh so much frustration. I even got the chance to show it to my dad today... the landlord told me to help myself in to show him, that she trusted me which is very nice of her. (she wasn't there to show it, but the door was unlocked ) He LOVED it. He is even willing to help me out with the first couple months in case Jorge's case gets delayed.... I am so scared though..... Jorge and I talked about it, and he tells me to get it because I will regret not doing so. It's hard to find a good deal nowadays.... SOOOOOOOOOOOO We'll see. I have to admit that I am 21 year old girl with gray hairs.... no joke! I stress out too much. I have NO idea what is going on with our case yet. Jorge will call Thursday to see if they sent off our Packet 3. We're hoping to get it no later than 2 weeks from today. *crossing fingers* I am going to the court tomorrow to see if I can get a certified copy of my birth certificate since i have my real one. Hopefully they are able to do that for me. I am starting to really get anxious since we are so close. Even to the point of giving up! It's too much for me!! So far I have filled out his forms and saved them on my computer. The only one is 156 k cuz it won't let me save a copy? It's weird. I hope everyone has a great day. I think tomorrow is Wednesday already???? THAT WAS FAST!!!!! I have a dentist appointment tomorrow I really want this place. I want to risk it!!! But I hope I don't regret it later. I think it's perfect in everyway!!! EVERYTHING. I cannot find one flaw. If I take it, and all goes smoothly...i would be so thankful to God. I feel that he put it in my path for a reason..... especially since it is month to month basis...i can sneak out if an emergency occurs...... 760 is not bad for what it is. And it is affordable if jorge works too. I have the deposit/first month in my pocket, then i get financial aid that will cover the 2nd month (October) and he should be here to pay for November and so on..... it may actually work perfectly. We'll see. I have to really think this one through. I need to pop out a few more gray hairs I would love to have the time to decorate the place a little bit so that it's homey. Maybe... We had DEVINE INTERVENTION, because I took a chance and just emailed the consulate without the email code, and lo and behold 4 minutes later, I received an email response directly from the immigrant visa office, giving me a receipt number and telling me that the address change was accepted and that Taiwo would be receiving a new packet 3 at his new address within a few days. I was so happy that I responded to the government email with a "Thank You." It was rejected, but it felt good to send it. Of course, seeing is believing, so we shall see if/when Taiwo will actually receive packet 3. Well, that is how my week started. Thanks for letting me vent. Ah......I feel better Stevi LOL stevi. Sounds like you had an action-packed day. At least you got over this hump and it is all good to go now. THat's the best part, when everything bumpy gets smoothed out. i am so happy that your packet is coming in just a few days!!!! That's got to be exciting!!!! You are SOOO CLOSE!!! We are so close to half of August, and Friday is pay day for me YES! I posted this on another thread, i am copy-pasting here so you guys can answer me as well. It's about birth certificate conflict that I am having with myself- Ok. Thanks! But I am still confoozled. What I have in my hands is my real birth certificate. I was born in Puerto Rico so I don't want to ask for a certified copy from Puerto Rico so it can cause weeks for me to receive it. Can I take my real birth certificate to the court house in my home town and they can provide me with a certified copy? I'm not really understanding the difference between certified and notarized Maybe that's why I am so confused. I don't get it. i don't know why this is driving me crazy....? Is it possible for me to take my real certificate to the court and have them provide me with a certified copy? I think I am making this much more complicated than it truly is....well...that's so me! I am SUPER PUMPED about the apartment!!! I can't wait to see it tomorrow. i surely hope it is cute inside because it sounds like a good deal now, but gosh i hope i don't change my mind tomorrow. I will try to take pics ok. I'm not sure if they will let me, but i will sure give it a shot. So I saw my cousin Roy today. He is so handsome! I told my dad that he is cute and he was like "MARIA HE IS YOUR COUSIN!" I haven't seen him in over 10 years so I don't remember him much. I'm not that stupid though, he's just cute! Nothing wrong with saying that! I think my dad is handsome too! Is that weird? Well anywho. We had a BBQ and it was cool. I tend to be the fly of the family; I like to watch people and how they react. I am the youngest of the cousins and they are all in their late 30's; I am 21. I feel awkward because they grew up together around the same age, and I was always the baby that they knew they coulnd't hang out with. I am also the over protected one because of my daddy. i am the princess So it's hard when I don't really know my cousins THAT well. I know huh - i used to go in that forum before, but you guys were all VSC filers, which is why I made this one up because it made me sad knowing you guys were so much faster than CSC. I didn't realize that there was such a difference, and really there is. You guys are ahead of the game! It does seem that they have kind of tied on processing times, though. THey caught up to each other huh. I found an apartment you guys!! I might have anyways. i am going to look at it tomorrow on my lunch break. It is very cute on the outside, i hope so on the inside. They have a pool and a gymnasium and huge balcony, two rooms, 1 1/2 bathrooms, dining room, living room, AND the most important thing======== they have full size laundry! I dislike sharing laundry...it's gross to me! I will try to take pictures tomorrow and post them on here so you can see them. It is 750 a month with 500 deposit. I keep asking jorge if its too much but it's not "that" bad. It's kind of expensive but really the location is perfect... and all the comodities it comes with. Jorge will be working right away. we have a job lined up for him until he can legally work in the US. He is going to be doing construction and receive paychecks in cash. I guess it's "under the table" but i think it is very helpful, especially when we need it. It's only temporary. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited! I hope to be able to move in Sept 1 or so. We'll see what happens tomorrow. I also posted this on the Juarez Embassy forum, but i want your opinions as well. I do NOT want to send my Birth Certificate through mail. SOO can i do this?---- my supervisor is a notary, remember i work at a bank....... so she's a notary. Can she "notarize" a VERY GOOD QUALITY copy of my birth certifcate and have Jorge use that? Would that be considered a certified COPY of my birth certificate? Does that make sense? Should i also do that for my Passport? I hope everybody has had a wonderful weekend. i am going to visit my cousin Roy. He lives in Virginia and is here to visit for a week! I haven't seen him since i was 9!! I'm excited to see him!! It's scary sometimes. jorge took me to a restaurant named VIPS in Mexico City, and i cut little tiny chunks at a time (just in case) and the chicken in the middle was raw. BLEGH!!!!!!!! You have to be so careful eating their foods. I, too, would drink bottled water or canned pop. Even eating in the mercados scared me because they hang raw chicken out in the open...it just looks so unsanitary. It's weird because I am origianlly from Puerto Rico and it's similar to that but I have lived in Washington since i was 6 years of age so I'm used to clean water and food. Just be careful Caity I don't want you to get seriously ill ok? Take good care of yourself sweetie. NICHNICK!!!!! I am so glad you stopped in here! Are you back home from your interview?
