IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	PLEASE HELP CR1 ( I-130)INTERVIEW AT NEW DELHI BUT UNDER SECTION 221 G	Hello everybody My wife finally went for her interview and all the documnets were found to be just fine. I want to bring this to your attention that she was questioned over and over only on one topic during the interview. And that was concerning my past relationships. She felt that it was a mental torture especially with remarks like that I don't even want to post here. At the end of the interview, she received the following notice. The consulate general regrets it is unable to issue a visa at this time. Section 221(g) of the US immigration and nationality act prohibits the issuance of a visa to anyone who has failed to present the documents required in connection with their visa application, or who has otherwise failed to meet the requirements of U.S. law or regulations governing the issuance of visa. The following remarks apply in ur case: You are required to submit the following documents:A list of all the beneficiary’s and petitioner’s relatives living in US and India, with complete contact address address information, telephone and dates of birth (includes cousins, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, parents, grandparents, grandchildren, children, nephews, and nieces, and all in laws). For those relatives who live in the US but not born there, describe how they went to US, when, under what visa type, and the names they used when they immigrated. Please provide family names. So my questions are as follows: 1.What if we give them the name of only our close relatives.? Would they object to the fact that we have not provided the contact info for everybody? As you might know, in Indian families, not all the relatives get along too well. Even if we tell them that we do not deal with such and such relative,would they raise any substantial doubt. Is that a good answer that we don't deal with them anymore. Some of these people have attended the wedding.( please know that our case is Genuine. It is just that a lot of our relatives are jealous with us big time) 2. What if we are unable to obtain dob from our relatives? Middle East and North Africa	How long for an appointment for Abu Dhabi ?	Hello Sabre, in our case, Abu Dhabi set up an interview for February 12th, after getting our packet from NVC November 8th. They set the interview date the same day they recieved the packet. According to the letter they wrote for our packet, they are currently backlogged with fiance visa applications, hence the delay. If you would like, I scanned the packet they mailed to me so you can look through the documents and requirements from Abu Dhabi Embassy, just pass me a message. Juliekins went prior to us, and her interview date was only about 6 weeks after Abu Dhabi got their packet from NVC. Good luck on your journey! Middle East and North Africa	WHAT DID YOU PLAN FOR YOUR SO UPON ARRIVAL?	I bought a dresser for her. And last night the kids and I went shopping and picked up a huge warm comforter and pillow for her. Western Washington will be a bit cooler than she is used to in the Philippines and United Arab Emirates. My son also hand crafted a card saying "Welcome Home" except it says Welkome! And both kids want to go shopping for flowers for her when we meet her at SeaTac airport Tuesday to bring her home. I figure on waiting till she arrives to shop for things she will need beyond that. I know she is going to need a warm coat, still snowing off and on here, and when not, cold and/or raining and windy. Tuesday night can't get here fast enough! Middle East and North Africa	Abu Dhabi	Hi all, well obviously my fiancée was very excited when I talked to her last night. And I will let her do a more complete description of the interview, but from what she said, it went very well, and she was treated quite nicely. She went to the embassy about an hour, hour and a half early and was processed in and waited about an hour for the interview to begin. Everyone, including the guards was very friendly to her. It sounded like a good laugh was had over the fact she was carrying a huge bag full of relationship evidence in addition to our necessary papers. When the time came, she was surprised the interview took place at a window, instead of privately in a room. The woman was very nice, and asked her lots of questions concerning me, and also my two kids. After the questions, which J said went well, and she was so proud to show the lady photos of my two kids, she was asked for the needed filing documents, all of which she had at hand and turned in. Not sure which documents for relationship evidence they took, but it sounded like they were most interested in snail mail photocopies showing post marks. She had cards going back to 2004, so obviously this was not a recent relationship! After that, she was told she could pick up her visa Wednesday February 14th, Valentines Day and also my birthday! What a fantastic present. All in all, it sounded like a much more pleasant experience than we feared, and obviously the ending was very much what we had hoped for. The last person going through Abu Dhabi for a K-1 said it was a horrible experience, although she too was granted a visa. Judith thought it was great! Best of luck to all of those who follow. Thank you to all of the great folks here on VJ. Now on to the next stage, getting her here which will hopefully be early March. <--- still doing a happy dance here! What a relief! Middle East and North Africa	Medical Exam in UAE	Hey Matt, Judith did her medical and got her immunizations done today. From the two phone calls I had with her, it didn't sound too bad. She should be online later today and she can give a description of the process etc. They gave her several sealed envelopes which I would guess should not be opened. And told her "good luck." Hoping that if there had been any issues medically they would have advised her of the problem. Sounded hopeful to me! 4 shots total for immunizations, 3 in the arm, 1 in the... Poor honey! I take it my wife has sole authority over her daughter? Correct. And no problem for the interview when we get one? Assuming you have all properly completely forms and required documents...no, there should be no problems during the interview. I highly recommend reading this guide. I am preparing my affidavit of support. I was wondering what kind of documents will we be needing for the interview. Mainly what kind of documents for my step child. Do have have to get some permission from the biological father? his name is on the birth certificate, and the child uses his surname. Manila, Phils. US Consulate As Leatherneck has mentioned, the mother has sole custody for an illegitimate child. Regardless if the biological father's name is on the birth certificate, the mother has sole custody. When I petitioned my stepdaughter, I followed this guide. Almost everything in this guide helped me prepare the necessary documents for the interview. When my wife had her AOS, she submitted a letter of employment. It stated job position, job description, salary, and length of contract (this was the most important, IIRC). Sometimes cases are approved within that time frame, but they are mostly special cases (expedited). As previously mentioned, I would inquire your case's status after 6 months. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	CSC Time Frame	My I-129F NOA1 01/10/2012 I called USCIS today as my petition is over the 5 month mark. I was told that CSC is working on Dec. 16th petitions and therefore my petition is still within normal processing times. Just thought I would share that because I am seeing alot of petitions with later dates getting approved already. Kelly You should be getting your approval letter very soon. But if it will make you feel better, do contact your state congressman or senator. Their liaisons can do a congressional inquiry on your behalf.
