Generally an attorney is needed, if: You cannot handle the paper work You are not familiar with the process You have complex situation in the immigration Just to name a few. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	5 Months passed, no NOA2	I need advice on what to do. I filled a I130 for my wife and received a NOA1 stating the paper work was received on June 10, 2010. It has been 5 months and I have not received any information since. My application is being processed by the CA office. I called and they said they are reviewing May 2x applications and are slowly moving forward. Do I need to continue waiting or is there anything else I can do to speed up the process? My application does seem way out of the average processing times. Please advise, Thanks! Since it is beyond the normal processing time, I would contact my congressman and senator. You can request them to make an inquiry on your behalf. The process is well explained in USCIS and Department of State's website. You can only blame your incompetency if you acted on a faulty advice on VJ. When you signed up for this site, you had read the TOS, you would've known that no one here is a lawyer and our comments aren't end-all-be-all. Emigration Requirements The only reason I ever knew about this because of one of those ads of lawer like people to help speed up the process for rediculous amounts of money... so.. how do we get NSO documentation of our marriage certificate, birth cert (I think she may actually already have an NSO birth cert)? Is there a specific office she has to go to or something? Wife is filipina in the southern part (Mindanao? I think that's the spelling) The guy on the phone suggested she gets her NSO documents before going to Manila so she doesn't make wasted trips, but might still have to stay up there for a week or two while waiting on appointment(s) or something. Guess I'm asking at the NVC stage after sent to the embassy and she's been notified of an appointment date where she must then get her medical and go up there. I'm already preparing her for I guess the earlier stages of all those boring documents we have to fill out and helping by explaining to her what some of the stuff means, lol. Not that she needs help, but it makes me feel better to continue being active in this and all excited to get my wife over here But anyways, so yeah, where and how do we get all the NSO documents for her interview? and what all does she need to get them? Welcome to VisaJourney! Your wife can obtain ALL NSO documents (birth, marriage, certificate of no marriage) from the local National Statistics Office. You can also order the NSO documents online. But several members have stated that only a copy of NOA2 and letter/email with NVC case number is needed for the medical. I have yet to personally confirm this. NVC usually schedules the appointment. However, expedited cases and those special "forwarded" cases usually have appointments scheduled either by USEM or by the applicant/petitioner. Is your case a special case? She informed me that she has both the cemar and marriage cert. both from the NSO... But whats this about some kind of class??? Is there some kind of class she has to attend,,,,and a stamp on there (Marriage cert.) or something we don't understand. The class or seminar is given by Commission on Filipinos Overseas. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	July 2010 CR-1 filers	I got NOA1 on 9th July. I have not heard anything from USCIS yet and there has been no touch on my petition. I am waiting for NOA2. I saw someone has applied at the same time and has been approved. Is there anything I can do to get approved? There are some May filers who haven't heard or received anything from USCIS. They, too, are waiting for their NOA2s. There's not too much you can do to get an approval. You can try to expedite your case. However, you must meet specific USCIS requirements for that. To all my friends here in VJ and VJ members, I just want to ask about supporting documents of AOS, what if my joint sponsor withdraw his/her cash in bank, but not all amount only $9K, it will affect in my visa or interview? I have interview date on Feb. 01, 2011. The consul will check or they will ask again the latest bank statement too date? Thanks Ray and Ces Had your joint sponsor previously showed proof of income with tax forms or just with cash value? I think it will depend if they still have the limit amount in the bank. Also as long as their income requirement is still met. The USCIS doesn't know how much people spend on a daily basis for food or such to determine how fit you are, for example.
