You still have a few month wait...

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between March 18, 2012 and March 30, 2012*.

My petition was recieved on November 15, 2011. On the last update of my case it shows 11/18/2011. On the 18th of this month, my petition would have been in the hands of USCIS for 2 months. So why haven't i been... "Touched"... I see other people getting touched all the time, is my case non-touchable? Ugh...

Arrive by 0530am * make sure your in the right line - Do not be afraid to ask the guard.

Before entering, someone will ask you Passports, DS-156,157,156k and appointment letter.

Upon entering, you must past in body x-ray then your bag will be test in x-ray machine. They really don't allowed of those electronics devices. They will confiscated it from you.

You will go inside and get in another line to get your queue number

Someone will staple your DS form together for you

Then when your number comes up - you will drop the DS forms,

Then you sit down and wait for your number again

When your number flashes you will get your biometric or finger prints done

Then you sit down and wait for your number again

When your number comes up again you will go to a window: NBI clearance, B-certificate, CENOMAR, and I-134 affidavit of support, two proof of visa payment, and both your passports. They will ask you some questions and proof of the relationship.

You will go back to your seat and wait for your number

When your number flashes you will go to a window for your interview - with each question, try to show proof when you can.

Then you will sit down and wait for your number again

Wait your number again to be flashed for the instruction of your visa delivery. Make sure your mailing address if correct.

Since Its a K1 visa...

Quick question for everybody: For the K1 visa, When a CO ask if you've done a traditional ceremony and if you've paid bride price..what are you supposed to answer???

I heard that if you answer a "Yes" to the above questions that you would be rejected and told to go file for a CR-1, because that means "you are married"..Please can somebody help with this question?

And @ kunleseun, can you pls tell us what your fiance answered for the traditional ceremony/bride price question?..

Got to the embassy by 4:35am,realized am the only one there,later people came, at 6:38am they started the queue,we were given instructions,we later went into the waiting pavillion, 'SURPRISE!!! my name is not in the list,later they wrote it,then we went in and was interviewed by the ASIAN LADY.
Questions @ the interview:
-who is petitioning for you?
-how did you meet?
-when?
-where you childhood friends?
-but you attended the same church,how come?
-when did you decide to get married?
-who proposed?
-do you have any pix?
-where was she living when you met?
-what course is she studying?
-which school does she attend?
-what does she do for work?
-where does she stay?
-how did she become a US citizen?
-when did you propose?
-how often do you talk on phone?
-any proof?
-what does she do for leisure?
-what's her favorite music?
-where are your family?
-since you would be getting married in the US,how does your family feel about this?
-how did you continue with the relationship when she travelled?

She then said congratulations, If I give you this visa,how would you pick it?would you send someone or pick it yourself?
She came back to ask;
-did you do a traditional ceremony?
-did you pay a bride price?.

She said congratulations,pick your visa ata this address in one week.Goodluck in the Us.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDS 3025 I-693...Does anyone know how accurate the following post is?
"Any ol' DS-3025 may not be acceptable. They'll give you a DS-3025 whether you got the required shots needed for AOS or not. Some doctors fail to sign them. Some fail to complete the results section. I will say Knightsbridge clinic is very good at ticking the right boxes and signing if you got your shots and told them you had chickenpox.

There are certain things your DS-3025 should have to be considered complete.

Look at your DS-3025. If it has the following items, you don't need an I-693.
1. Shots marked (at least one of a series)
MMR

Td or Tdap or DT or DTP or DtaP (date no longer than 10 years ago)

Varicella or VH written by it if you had chickenpox

2. Everything else marked not age appropriate or medically appropriate.

3. RESULTS section filled in with "incomplete". AND "may be eligible for blanket waiver"

4. Signed and dated by the doctor

If it's not completed like that then see a civil surgeon for the I-693. If it is complete, send a photocopy of your DS-3025.

Do NOT do what UK person ECWilloughby did recently and send in an I-693 without a doctor's part filled in along with the DS-3025. Do one form or the other.


The USCIS is supposed to have your medical files, but sometimes lose them or fail to match them up with your AOS. Do not get another exam unless you get an RFE that says they do not have results of your medical. It means they lost them, but you are probably stuck with paying for a new exam. Your official vaccination results are also part of that file. We send the DS-3025 photocopy more to remind the person opening the mail that we are intending to use that DS3025 to prove our vaccinations, rather than an I-693. The official "sealed" version is in you A-file (brown envelope) which they are supposed to get and match up with your AOS.

The DS3025 has to have all those things, not just some of them. Incomplete is fine if the box about blanket waiver is also ticked"

Same thing happened with my fiance. Make sure you go back up to JFK and get an I-94 for the AOS. After explaining the situation, you may or may not get it. If you don't get it , you will have to pay $330 for one.

-WaitingforOregon, congradulations on your NOA2. How did you two celebrate? You are lucky in a way.. Canada is a lot closer than Iran and you can see each other whenever you want. Am I correct? Could your fiance come here to the US and stay here while waiting for the visa? And what is the next step for you two? Are you preparing your documents for the interview? It certainly makes me feel better to hear others have waited as long as I have. Thank you for the reply.

-Pumpkinpie, I totally feel your pain. I guess our cases are right around the corner... I hope we both hear good news in the next couple of weeks. I really really do hope we both get approved soon.

-Rottydog, I hear Iranian fiance and marriage visa applicant go through "administrative process" which can take up to about a year in addition to the normal times.... is that true? I hope that is false. Are you originally from Iran as well? Or just your fiance?

Since you have gone through this process, how long does it takes once the file gets to the embassy? I understand it takes a month from NOA2 until the file gets through the NVC and to the embassy. What then? How long?

Next week it will be 7 months since we got our NOA1. I wish somehow my file would have ended up at CSC instead of VSC. I have called VSC twice and they keep telling me "it is within normal processing time" and that I have to wait. I also had my congressman contact them and they said the same thing. I used an attorney to file my case and he says he cannot do anything and we just have to wait. I am looking at all the people who filed a month after me (July '12) and got their NOA2 from VSC and cannot help but to think something is wrong with my file. I have not gotten an RFE and I don't know if there is a problem with my file, or if it got lost, or it is because my fiance (she) is from Iran. I was also born in Iran and now naturalized US citizen and perhaps that has something to do with it too... maybe the background check and everything else just takes longer time. Any suggestions or words of wisdom or any advice would be greatly appreciated... I cannot go to Iran to visit her and she cannot come to the US to visit me... so we are just waiting... we have managed to meet in another country (Turkey) twice just to make the waiting more bearable!!! It sucks and I wish I could go to Iran to vist her but I cannot legally go to Iran (even though I was born there.... long story). Thank you visajourney and all members. I wish everyone the best and hope your cases get approved. The only good thing that comes out of this long wait is that I know we will appreciate each other more once she comes here.

My NOA1 was received by USCIS VSC on JUNE 20th.... almost 7 months ago. Still no response. I think someone just lost my documents. I have called USCIS several times and they keep telling me it is within normal processing times but it seems like everyone on this site who filed before me has gotten their NOA2. It is very disappointing.

Hi everyone

I am petitioning for a fiance visa and applied in June 2012. Our I-129F was approved in January and we got a notice (NOA2) on 1/22/2013. Today is 2/22/2013 and it has been exactly 34 days since NOA2 and I have been calling NVC and DOS every day and they have not received it yet. I have emailed NVCResearch@state.gov with a scanned copy of my NOA2 three times (three emails) in the past 3 weeks. Still no responce. Furthermore, I have made an appointment at the USCIS office in our state and visited them. The USCIS officer told me it was approved on 1/22/2013 and was processed to be mailed out on 1/28/13. He said "I cannot see anything beyond that". Basically he told me it is out of USCIS hands and that I need to follow up with NVC at this point. The NOA2 approval letter says the petition has been approved and forwarded to the consulate (in Turkey). I think all finace visas go through NVC regardless of what the NOA2 says. However, I have also emailed the consulate about our file and they replied a few days ago that they have not received our file. I don't know what to do at this point. I call NVC every day and they tell me I just need to wait. It is not lost. I have looked at hundreds of timelines on this website and I have not seen a single person whose timeline indicates such a long delay from NOA2 to NVC receipt. This is really worrying me. Any tips or advice would greatly be appreciated.

Either can call and will be asked both details such as date of birth of both petitioner and Beneficiary and your USCIS  receipt number. Best time to call is after 9 in the evening. I the beneficiary called first time after 9:30 in the evening London time and it went through after holding for a good 25 minutes. Good Luck !

Whilst we are waiting for our NOA2 I ( the beneficiary) I am starting to gather the required documents, I have ordered my police certificate but i do not hold my birth certificate as i am a naturilised british as my family and i immigrated in the Uk over 20 years and I am not in communication with my touch so i am unable to obtain my birth certificate will this be a problem? Confused,

 

Since receiving our receipt number by e-mail 22 November 2013 , my fiancee (Petitioner) have received nothing else since.  When we go to USCIS websitte and enter the receipt number we get the following message.

 

."On November 27, 2013, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance."

 

I know its early days but is there something he needs to do or do we just wait and keep checking our status. 

 

I see alot of November's filier have been receiving quick response so hopefully we are one of them too.

Please excuse my lack of visa terminology whistling.gif After checking the NVC automated reply, on March 18th I finally got a recording that stated that My husband's case was completed on March 14, 2008. Earlier this week after not recieving any confirmation in the mail there was a message that said his case was forwarded to the Consulate in Casablanca on March 29th. I know it may be a little too soon, but when should I expect the next written communication and from whom. Im assuming it will come from Casablanca. Any information, advice, support would be greatly appreciated.

Morocco is pretty much the same as what she explained from Algeria. The point that she was making is that once you marry a moroccan/algerian man, you no longer have the liberties that you had when you were just a "westener visiting". You are now expected to act like a native married woman would. I can vouch that yes in Morocco, its a different lifestyle for woman. It all depends on the family that your husband comes fromm and your husband.

He waited in cue for a while and then was called by a very nice lady who collected his receipt and card, and immediately started asking him questions.

2) How did you meet? (We met because I had formed a Foundation and asked a Nigerian friend of mine if he had any contacts in Nigeria who I could work with on an HIV/AIDS project. My friend said he knew someone in Delta State who had an NGO and gave me Gabriel's website address. I then contacted him.)
3) Who is this friend? What does he do for a living? When's the last time he visited Nigeria?
4) How long have Gabriel and I been talking?
5) Have I ever visited Nigeria?
6) Why have I not visited Nigeria?
7) Who is Emmanuel (Emmanuel is Gabriel's brother whose number was on my phone records.
8) What proof do you have for us? Gabriel took out pictures, cards, letters, phone records, receipts, travel documents, but she said she only wanted to see the pictures. He tried to also give the cards, but she said, no I don't need to look at that, just give me a few minutes. She took the pictures and came back shortly with a slip that says he has been approved.

He received his approval around 12:00 noon his time. Told to pick up his visa in 8 days (July 28th)
