K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	2008 Tax Return (Married or Single) & K3 - help??	I'm in kind of a dilemma at this point. I just recently sent my I-130 petition on April 19th and received NOA1 was April 29th 2008. Currently I'm debating whether to go thru the hassle of K3 or not because it takes based on timeline just 2-3 months faster. so my questions are: 1. How easy is to abandon your k3 process if you think its taking too long? If both I130 and K3 gets approved at same time, it means it got processed same time at USCIS correct ant not NVC? NVC will take additional 4-5 months for I130 where as K3 just stays at NVC for 2-3 weeks. I'm confused as so many ppl ask question that it got approved at same time what should I do now.. is that approval from NVC or USCIS? 2. Does she needs to be physically in U.S for me to apply as married in my 2008 TAX return (Note, I just sent my I130 on April 19th). If not, can I get ITIN for her without her physically being here? I heard some ppl saying just notarized copy of passport is enuf for ITIN but that way I can get that for anybody..whats the proof that she will be coming here. 3. If she needs to be physically here in order for me to apply for a joint return, what are my chances of getting her here on K3 in 2008.. ppl usually say 8 months..so I'm looking at december probably. thanks a bunch for whoever replies! Call in again, be just as polite as the first time and innocently ask again for your Invoice Identification Number as well as your Beneficiary Identification Number. Thank you so much! National Visa Center (Dept of State)	Advice please :)	Hi everybody, I just called the NVC and got the new case number which was assigned yesterday. I asked for the Invoice Identification number so I can speed up the process, but I was told that it will be sent to me once it's generated. Is there anything I can do in the mean time to speed up the process? Or should I just wait for their mail? Can I start sending the necessary papers ie I-864 and DS-3032? I'm just getting a bit impatient given that we spent more than 7 months for our NOA2 at the VSC! Do you know by any chance whether the AOS package needs to get approved before we are asked to pay and submit the IV package? We filed the DS-260 online last Thursday, but haven't heard anything back, yet. You should wait up to 10 days to get an acknowledgement copy. I just called the NVC and I was told that they haven't received it yet. Should I be worried? And how long does it take to go through the package once they receive it? National Visa Center (Dept of State)	Setting an interview date, help please!	One thing I can tell you is no they don't schedule months in advance. Like they just scheduled April interviews. The people getting case complete now are in queue for May. They always schedule for next month. But when they do who knows. NVC will say they schedule 2nd week of the month. Well the last 2 months they haven't. I had case complete 2/5 got interview date 3/5 for April.. All you can do is wait. Come to the Interview thread and add yourself. But don't they have to schedule it within a specific time even if the actual interview will be two or three months from now? You can probably tell that we're getting really impatient Each country has different timelines for when interviews will be scheduled. Our case was completed on the 1st of March and the interview will be done at the Embassy in Athens, Greece. However every time I call they don't have any information to give us and they don't even know if the date has to be set within 10 business days or something. Does anyone know how it works? If someone has a better answer we would appreciate your input. National Visa Center (Dept of State)	P4 questions	hey guys just have a few questions for P4 some concerns... if they have been answered please post a link for me..   in my P4 it has a code... and than it lists a number of documents.. with those code letters next to it.... on it it says   Y- NVC sent this form or document to us embassy or consulate... O- NVC sent this form or document to US embassy or Consulate..   two different letter codes for same thing.. why?   birth cert, police cert... and "termination of marriage" is marked with "O" (BTW NIETHER OF US WAS MARRIED BEFORE HOW COULD NVC SEND IT?)   passport, financial evidence, photograps.. marked with "Y" ( passport was never sent to NVC so again how could they send it?)   and again codes Y and O mean same thing so wht do they ask for 2 different letters for same thing?	muzk2014	Not Telling	Bahrain	2014-01-31 20:05:00

National Visa Center (Dept of State)	LOST!	Someone please help m so confused and I have never read anything like this on VJ My wife's interview was schduled for march 6th... Butas soon as the consulate recived paperwrk .. Someone from embassy called and asked her to bring current police certificates and told her that interview was rescheduled to 38 of feb.. so she my wife asked if this could be done following day the CO insisted it be done that day So my wife went .. When she went she was told 2 or 3 things to be corrected Our marriage cert. Which my wife pointed out was alrdy in packet. The co said keep it n bring it to interview.. Than my wife was told she needed her orig birth certificate .. My wife and I sent this but co said no.. In the p4 it says received sent by nvc.. But co said no... Called nvc they said its in the packet we sent it. So now what do I do .. I know I sent it... Nvc n the p4 states it was sent... National Visa Center (Dept of State)	Lengthy List of Required Inoculations	So I have a long list of inoculations required for the visa appointment for my wife. Many of these were given to her in childhood. She doesn't have any documented proof. Come to think of it, I couldn't prove I had these same inoculations, though I did as well when I was a kid. Does the doctor sometimes waive some of the typical incolations if it's standard practice for children to receive those in that country? Or, is she going to need to to get ALL new shots for all that are listed? Just curious what other people have experienced or done in similar cirmustances. Thank You, Kelly. K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Newbie Question Re: K3 Process	My wife and I were married in Costa Rica this past week. Now I am back in the US and ready to begin the application for a K3 visa for her. I am waiting on the certificate of marriage from the Costa Rican goverment. I am guessing it will take at least a month, probably longer, to arrive here in the US. My question is: Can I do anything else to begin the visa process prior to receiving the certificate? I have begun collecting all the other documents listed in the K3 application guide. I have read the K3 Guide as well as the FAQs and I read the K3 forum as well. K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Marriage Certificate Translation Question	I can send you a copy of the translation we got for our marriage certificate, it's pretty simple and the translator, no matter who it is just have to sign the translation saying that they are fluent in both languages. As far as the affidavits, they also have to be translated. Rule of thumb is anything you send to the USCIS or the NVC that is not in English, will need to be translated.
