I did the same thing but they told me USCIS has 30 days to respond, so I am stuck waiting. And she got annoyed when I called 2 weeks in a row! I thought the response would be quicker than that. It is better to wait than start asking someone else to contact them as well.


I can't believe all the approvals from other who applied after and I still have not heard anything at all.

Call NVC, or contact the consulate with jurisdiction over your case.


They said that they sent the application to the embassy 2 weeks ago. I called them and got the new case number. Thanks everyone!

Thank you so much for replying to my post. Congrats on your approval and your visa. I noticed that on your timeline, you have August 3 as US entry date... I assume that means you have a flight ticket for August 3rd....     smile.png    you two must be very very very excited!!!! I am very happy for you. 

 

As you know, Iranian applicants have to go to another country for their interview (since US does not have any diplomatic relations with Iran). Turkey (Ankara) is the most popular place for Iranians to go for obtaining a US visa. The website posts AP numbers for both Turkish and Iranian applicants. What I find amazing is that so far I have not seen a single case number on the AP approved site that begins with ANK20135XXXXX. As you probably know, ANK stands for Ankara, 2013 is the year, the first three numbers after that are the day of the year plus 500 (for example 530 means 30th of January), and the last 3 numbers are the case number assigned for that day (random number). So if your case was received by the embassy on March 30th, your file number would be ANK2013590XXX. (590-500=90 meaning 90th day of the year.... March30). So far, this year, nobody not a single person has been approved for AP beginning with ANK20135XX. That means there is such a huge lag. I see some file numbers which start with ANK2013050XXX which I dont understand what they mean... since 050 is less than 500... do you or does anyone know what that stands for? I thought the number after 2013 always had to be more than 500. In this case 50! Can anyone shed some light on this? 

 

one more thing,.... on the embassy website it says they will not respond to emails about AP for less than 6 months because most AP takes 3-6 months. Is that new? Or has it always said that and I have missed it? I hope it is more like 3 months and not 6 months. Ours has been 3 months and I just sent an email last week and no reply so far.

My fiance had an interview in Ankara (Turkey) about 3 months ago (in April) and she was put on AP and was told to check the website. We are still waiting and checking the site every single day. There was someone on this forum that was monitoring how many of the interviewed applicants in Ankara were being put on administrative processing (AP) recently. I guess he/she was checking the interview schedule of the embassy and then checking the status of the application after the interview date. If I remember correctly, he/she posted recently in this forum that 100% of applicants were being put on AP. I wonder if he/she is still monitoring the applications and interview outcomes. Whoever you are that was doing this, if you are reading my post, could you please post an update? I am very interested in knowing what percentage of applicants (mainly K1 and CR1 applicants) at Ankara embassy are currently being put on AP. Thank you so much.

 

PS. I am going to start monitoring the interviews myself from now just to get an idea how everyone else is doing on their applications and interviews.

I mean, If it's just the two of you (no kids) you should be golden. They're not really paying attention to trends in income as much as the income itself. I think if his income went down because of the recession, it would actually be a good thing because it shows that in the future, when the economy picks back up, he could potentially make a lot of money, and he'll be able to support you. I mean, if you feel super-worried about it, you could always get a co-signer for the I-864. Just remember... that I-864 is some evilly binding stuff. Make sure you know your spouse and know what you're getting involved in.

You may be in for another shock however. The waiting time for a visa APPOINTMENT is 2-3 YEARS in the DR. I waited 20 months myself. Too bad you didn't get married in another country, you could have had a K3 adjudicated at that Consulate.

I hope to soon mail in my I-130 for my Dominican spouse, and would appreciate some help with a particular issue: Documents needed to prove a family relationship (in this case, marriage). My concern relates to the "additional evidence" of the bona fides of the marital relationship, some examples being documentation of joint ownership of property, joint tenancy of a residence, or co-mingling of financial resources. We have none of these things, although some are in the works. I obtained two notarized affidavits (example I. of this question on the I-130) from people with knowledge of the marital relationship during my most recent trip to the Dominican, but I am concerned that this is not enough. Example J. on the form includes "any other relevant documentation" establishing the union; what are some examples of this?

Are the affidavits, in addition to the required evidence (marriage certificate, photos, etc.) sufficient? What are some other things I might be able to include? Thank you!

Please let me know if this is legit for my husband's birth certificates and our marriage certificate, to be submitted with the I-130 packet: I am fully competent to translate the documents, but am not a certified translator. Will it be acceptable to translate the documents myself, and then for each (or for all together) draft a statement saying I am capable of translating and that the translations are true and accurate, and have that statement notarized? Shall I notarize the statement claiming the validity of the translations, and/or the translations themselves? Thank you,

Hey guys,

I got an RFE for my I-129F. It is because of the way I included evidence of pictures in the petition. You see, I kept all of the original pictures. I used my office printer to make color photo copies of the pictures front and back because I wrote our names and locations on the back of the pictures. Now I got an RFE asking to submit pictures of me and my fiance together. Has anybody ever had this happen before? I was under the impression that it is ok to submit "copies" of all your evidence which should include pictures. Did I make a mistake by submitting copies instead of original pictures???


I did the same thing. I printed the picture on paper and typed the date and location on each picture. I had no RFE.

I've heard conflicting answers, so I'm asking here in hopes that someone has an answer and is able to cite specific proof.

My MIL is planning to fly from Bangkok to Chicago with a stopover in Frankfurt. Her stopover is 4.5 hours. She will be flying Lufthansa all the way from Bangkok to Chicago. She holds a Thai(land) passport as well as a 10-year, multiple entry B2 (tourist) visa to the U.S.. I checked the German Missions website, and it seems to suggest that she will not need one, but I'd like a confirmation, if possible.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I transited by Frankfurt airport twice without needing a visa. I guess you can still call the German embassy to confirm.

Im flying back home for the holidays on Lufthansa with a LOOOONG (12 hrs) stop at Frankfurt airport, and cannot leave Terminal 1.

Is there much to so do there? like shop, spa, food etc ...this is going to be the longest confined wait for a flight i've ever done :crying: I don't know how I'm going to handle it without a little entertainment (besides the usual book/magazine)

En gros, le police certicate au UK peut etre soit delivre par scotland yard ou alors un truc specifique a la police. Et bien sur celui que j'avais dans le dossier n'etait pas le bon! Misere de misere!! J'ai cru faire une crise cardiaque!!!

I don't think you need to convert your degree in order to apply for a job. At least I didn't, and I know of many people who have degrees from abroad and who didn't need to do that. But when I needed to further my education, I needed to convert my degree. I used the services of http://www.wes.org/

I just found out that TAM has pretty good price. For example, from GIG to JFK is 990 buck or around R2180. It is the cheapest so far. But the catch is, you have to buy from www.tam.com.br and you can only use brazilian issued credit card.
