No it's not the I-693, but what you mean is a copy of the vaccination sheet the doctor fills out (it's DS-3025). Just ask if they can give you a copy, it shouldn't be a problem. It's better to have it for AOS, because you will have to go to a USCIS-approved civil surgeon in the US and let them fill out parts of the I-693 for you (you don't have to take the full medical again, if your German medical is less than one year old when you apply for AOS), so they will transcribe the vaccinations for you.

I am finally done with my medicals. It wasn't anything unusual. Just blood, urine, bp, ear, eye etc. I have all vaccinations, however Varicella is a little old (I was 2 year old when I got that!) .. so they will be checking if I have the anti bodies, in case not I need to get that shot!

The doctor and nurse filled my form, and I was only asked to sign, I presume it was DS-3025. Not sure, guess its a standard procedure.

However when I asked for the copy, the nurse told me that, she will mail a photocopy of only the vaccination supplement once the V results come in, and that I don't need anything else. Is that right? Any one please. smile.gif So, is that all I need from the medical doc, one sheet of vaccination detail?

Just waiting for the test results which they said will be back in a week's time.

Yes you got everything right, now you're only waiting for the copy of the DS-3025. But the only thing I had to sign at my medical was the permission to do a HIV test.

Glad that it's over with huh? Good luck on your further journey and for your interview wink.gif

Oh, many thanks Chibby for that! I would have been sitting there, arguing to get a I-693 from the german doc star_smile.gif you saved me!! LOL!! that clears my question.

Did you look up the vaccination requirements for your gender and age? If possible, you should get any missing shots done by your family doctor since it's free (prevention) or inexpensive, if you decide to do it on the medical date, at that doctor, you might end up paying more and it's gonna be cash.

yes I did, I have had Td shots as a child, and also a booster in 2005. I am not sure if I need (another) Tdap as they say in the online chart?? ohmy.gif As my medical is day after, I would just get the Tdap if the doc says so on that day.

Thanks again for the help you all!! It's a blessing to have this forum on sucha seemingly blind journey smile.gif

You might as well just print or write down the vaccination requirements, take your Impfpass and let your family doctor take a look, if you're not sure. That's what I did, and he figured out I had to get a TD booster.
But of course you could always go to the medical first, and get any missing shots the days after at your family doctor and fax the medical doctor the proof.

Thank you guys, I think i will just go ahead with the Eu size photographs, as the doc says ok.

I asked about the forms, because, I have read this forum where docs 'forgot' to give/ petitioner 'forgot' to take a copy, which became later a big thing during AOS...Is it just the copy of 693? Will the doctor give it right then or mail it later? I want to be sure to get whatever it is, when I am walking out of the doctor's office.

Secondly, will the result of the medical be told right away, like ok, you look clean .. or will it just be sent to the embassy and I get to know on my interview date, that would totally suck! blink.gif And I presume I be given all the missing shots right away...

Sorry, if these are seem silly to the pros, but your answer will help. smile.gif

Well they can't tell you the results of the bloodtests right away, but unless the doctor says anything to you, you should be fine. And if there are some concerns about your health that could be reasons for a visa denial, they would tell you first.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresStaying busy while we wait...

I just started working 2 weeks ago...just to keep my mind out of this waiting process.....Plus I do boxing and other sports on weekends.....so i wont miss my hubby too much.....
I work anywhere from 10 - 12 hours a day, then I come home, and take care of my dogs, 3 labs and a chow. they are my girls.
Now since winter is over, been tending to the yard, planted 12 rose bushes, and cleaned out the garage. Plus keeping up a 4 bedroom home, not easy.

Then when I have nothing to do, I watch the videos of our vacations together, my husband and myself, I feel closer hearing his voice, and seeing his smile almost as if we were re-living that very minute together in Paris. Then I cry myself to sleep wishing this nightmare was over and just a bad dream. In a way, I feel like I quit living .
I plan on starting the garden tomorrow too! But tomorrow will probablly be most weeding, clearing leaves, and turning the soil...

those 10-12 hour days sounds pretty familiar plus a couple at the gym... For some reason- your last bit about crying our self made me chuckle (i hope it is not true) devil.gif .

Paris is going to be our first big trip once things settle down

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresStaying busy while we wait...
whistling.gif Fellow Vj'ers,

How are you staying busy out there? Besides logging into the USCIS website and posting on Vj? I've been working extra on weekends and doing I-130 paperwork for the last several months- but that is winding out and spring is here on the east coast U.S. This beautiful weather is kind of making me miss traveling... I just picked up learning hiragana to stay busy. maybe i'll be able to speak a little bit japanese for my next layover in tokyo kicking.gif whistling.gif

after we got married- dinner, movies, and evenings really do seem incomplete. We are 12 hours apart so there is a very small window that we overlap and still leave normal lives while waiting... how are you guys holding up and how long since you last were together?

keep a green tree in your heart and perhaps a singing bird may come-

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCouple of questions
for vietnam calls- look into Vinatouch. 3.9cent/minute to landline. Service is great. There are no hidden fees or charges for dropped calls. I just program the local number from my phone and dial the reciever number- no pin needed. and they have logs online and will also print and send to you at home. It tracks number and time of call.

She is sending her clean paper to show she has no criminal record and all the other paperwork you send in after you get the case number. I am sending the I-864 and my pay stubs and copys of a bank statement along with the last 3 years tax returns

Whoa whoa whoa!!! You need to wait till the 3032 is generated and the AOS bill is paid and shows paid before you start sending stuff in to NVC!!! If you send anything before, it will NOT be accepted!!! I would however suggest that you have the benificerary fill out the 230, send all the required original documents to you and have everything ready to go... But do not send anything to NVC before they are ready to accept it!!! guides6ly.gif

Here is a formula I did for another post that tells the sequence

I posted this in another post.... might be of use in keeping things straight!

For anyone confused the formula is this
Petitioner = Get NVC # + receive AOS fee bill + pay 70$ online + wait to show paid + print cover sheet + send 854 AOS with all documents and case # written on each page
Benificerary = Get NVC# + receive 3032 + send 3032+ 3032 accepted + IV fee bill available to be paid + pay and wait to show paid + print IV cover sheet + mail 230 package with all original/certified documents
======= wait for case complete + wait for interview to be scheduled

Good luck to all!!!

Yeah I paid the 400 and the 70 online it shows paid I went to the next step and printed out my cover sheet and emailed the coversheet to my wife. She is getting the paperwork done there once she has it complete she is going to mail me her paperwork and I will mail them to the NVC either with my I-864 or by themselves if I send the I-864 now. I was just wondering speed wise would our case be completed at the NVC sooner and we will get our interview date sooner if I send my info in first if not I will send them both at the same time.

Thanks

timeline.gif timeline.gif timeline.gif timeline.gif timeline.gif
Sorry, you do not have a current timeline so it is hard to see where you are in the process, please update

To answer your question, you can send the 864 package now then her package once it gets here... Since they are two different processes that merge, not sure if it cuts any time off, but at least you know if your part has any issues or if they need any other info....

I sent my I864 in about three weeks before I got the orginial police certs for my wife. NVC sent a notice "checklist" which just a barcoded letter stating that the I864 forms were received but the petition is missing additonal forms. Essentially, they said I needed to send in the DS230 for processing. I would send the I864 early if you can, at the very least it won't negatively effect the processing time.

As a GC holder, I don't think she'll need a visa as Greece is in EU... My husband didn't need a visa for all European countries we visited, including Greece... good.gif

She will need a visa; your husband's case is different, as he is from Bulgaria, which is an EU country.

Thank you all! This is consistent with what I have read. I'll stop by the Greek Embassy when I go to pick up my VN visa next week! Its less than a mile from each other. kicking.gif

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHow long to receive green card for IR-1?
I am anticipating our interview for this December 2009. If all goes well (hoping), my wife maybe able to return with me in December or by early next year. If she arrives in the US in January, how long does it take to get a green card?

I have an assignment on Crete (Greece) in Feb/March time frame and would LOVE to be able to take her to Greece and stop over in Paris innocent.gif . So my questions:

1. How long to get the conditional green card once spouse is here?

2. Do you keep the vietnamese passport until you become a U.S. citizen?

Thanks!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresTracking NVC DHL Tracking
wacko.gif information rush here- jk thanks this clears it up alot.
Slightly off topic:

With a CR/IR case, the NVC does the heavily lifting up front by collecting and processing all the 'civil' documents while the Consulate bears this burden for the K-1,K-3 cases because of the intent to move things along faster. At some point, the bottle neck comes back to available CO officers right? Is the purpose of using the NVC in CR/IR to less the admin workload for the Consulate?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresTracking NVC DHL Tracking
Can any one clarify a bit for me how tracking the DHL (as described in LingChe) works?

I received the recorded message that "Case was completed on Oct. 2, 2009. Please allow eight weeks for further instructions..."

When does the NVC schedule the interview appointment date before or after the package is sent?

Who (NVC or Embassy) sends the letter?

Any idea where the 8 weeks comes from? I don't see that as a processing time based on the immigration time trends...

Thanks for sharing unsure.gif

Hey guys and gals,

Well, my wife and I are going to celebrate our second Christmas together. It's been great having her here with me, but not complete. We have two little boys in Colombia waiting to come here too. I sent their paperwork in late september. I received their NOA1 on October 5. I'm an American citizen and my wife is a permenent resident, so I did their paperwork the same way I did my wifes. My question is do I do everything after the NOA1 th same?? The I-864 and the ds-230. I can't really find too much info for this process.

Thanks,

I know it hasn't been much of a wait time. I received my NOA1 on Oct. 5 and I go the the USCIS page everyday to check the status. I don't see anything that says "touched" on the page. Does this mean that it might take more time, or that they haven't even started the process? I just miss my wife and kinda freaking out.

Can I send that out, or am I waiting on something eles... And when do I pay my 400 fee...I just booked a trip down to Colombia for April, so just need to put some money aside.

Most important............Can anyone give me a time for a date for the interview,, just an aproximate????????

She has to show that she was outside of her country,, right?? I'm about two months away from our interview, so I don't know if it's just stress or I have a good reason to freak out. Please advise.
