Asia: SouthDS 156 on two pages-Acceptable?
QUOTE (DanielParul @ Jun 14 2008, 03:15 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I did too. In fact all my forms were downloaded from the internet so they were not printed both sides and it was alright at the New Delhi Consulate.
I made a couple of mistakes on the forms that I got in Pkt 4 so I had to download them. Nobody was bothered by that

I spoke to the Vice consul of USE in Laos, he said, 2 pages are unacceptable, the barcode page is in itself page 2. so this form should be printed back-to-back. I guess it depended on what country your fiance(e) live, etc. When you down load, use print current page. print page 1 first, and then put it back into the printer (flip over) and print current page (scroll down to page 2) or print from page 2 up so you'll get the page with barcode on separate page. Total pages - 2 I guess now it's too late for you. you can always print another copy (back-to-back) and carry with you in case they ask for it. Hope this help!!!

Sorry to hear what happened to you, I can relate. Have you had your Attorney contact the Consulate? Have your Senator and/or Rep contact the Consulate also.

My Attorney said at this point you can't fight city hall. I might as well go for a K-3. Starting to think my lawyer isn't all that great.

Still trying to get calls back from my Senators and Rep.

Sorry to hear a hope turn into nightmare. I think your US Senator can help. If worse come to worse, file for K3 (getting married). Send your US Senator your details email above. He'll know what to do with it. Good luck!!!

Hey all,
I am hoping that my Ghana K-1 people can help answer a few questions...

1) How much in advance should my fiance go for his medicals? From the discussiosns, it seems like 5-6 weeks in advance is good...Is that right?

2) I have studied well with how to best do the medicals (Thanks Zee)..... Holy Trinity for the medicals- Ask for Mr. Ray, Akai House for the vaccinations, and Medlabs for the HIV/Drug tests...Does anyne know what the total cost should end up being?

3) Proof of continued relationship since I-129F was filed: My fiance and I usually sent e-mails or talk on the phone with a calling card. The calling card # shows consistently on the phone bill, but does not list my fiance's #. Does anyone know if this will be seen as lack of proof? Will our e-mails be viewed as adequate proof?

4) I-134: I am going to send my tax returns in addition. I usually do my taxes via Turbo Tax. Does anyone know if my printed return will be enough or does it have to be notorized (or something)? Also, Zee suggested that I send the 1st sheet of my bank statement since my bank can't seem to produce a letter documenting the amout of deposits in a 12-month period. I feel exposed since my account info is on the sheets. Should I black that info out?

Looking forward to your help...Thanks!

I'll give you my best advice:
answer#1: US Embassy give you 4 months to complete, so you can do your medical/vacination as long as before your interview is fine...

answer#3: bring any e-mail, phone card along in case they need to see it since you already filed I-129f

answer#4: usually this would be done altogether when filing I-129f, (I-129f, I-134, g325a, etc, ), but let's me answer your question, as I understand it, you haven't file this form yet? anyway, you need to have the bank write a letter, with bank letterhead showing balance, date open the account, and signed it. you don't want to send your bank statement with black out items... on the tax return, you can include your
W-2 form so they know it's real/true income tax return. In this I-134 section, you can include many things, your life insurance, trust fund, 401K, saving or checking, house value, etc)
Hope this help a bit...good luck!!!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCancel K3 petition and file K1

Since I know at least one couple who were married a billion years, divorced and then remarried, I could see it happening. People do strange things especially when it comes to love.

(they later divorced for the second and final time.)

All I know is this, if USCIS knew that you were married, then they'll ask you to do K3. They won't allow you to do K1. In another word, K3, she is your wife so one way or another, she will be given a visa to enter the US. While K1, you had to establish an ongoing relationship and it can be denied.

If I were you. I would start with K1, and if it doesn't work out, I then start K3. In your case, you did the reverse. USCIS by now knew you were husband and wife so they will be asking why not filing K3? Anyway, you were right. Let them decide!!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresTyping outside of the line or box on I-129 form?
QUOTE (Maysa @ Jul 24 2008, 03:54 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello! My lawyer is driving me nuts. He has typed outside of the line. For example he could not fit Pakistan inside the line so it descends out side of the line a little. Are they going to reject our application due to writing outside of their margin/box designated to write inside of. There is not much space there to write inside of but i know on the website is says to use additional sheets f paper as needed. But, the lawyer has went ahead and typed it and maybe 4 letters are past the designated line/box area. I hope you understand me clearly. We are trying to mail out our package this weekend so it is urgent we know if this acceptable or not and we do not really trust our lawyer, but we have time and money invested in him so what can we do other than pray for the best. Please reply, thank you.

expired forms.... montreal use them too
ds156k is in general a form to sign at the interview anyway
list of doctors.... this one should be there...

I figured I have to tell you this. Expired form is ok, because they are the one who see it, or you can print a new unexpired form from the internet to use instead of consulate expired form is fine also. This is what I did and my fiance is now with me in the USA.

As to 156K, if they don't give it to you, don't ask for it. They don't need it anyway I think. USCIS websute say, some consulate used it and some don't. so don't worry. As to approve Doctor, if they don't mentioned it, go to anyone you like, because in Isarel, I guess any hospital or Doctor can do the job, and this is why the US consulate don't give you a specific hospital. In Laos or Thailand, you will have to use the one they told you, because like I mentioned above here. Good luck!!!

my understanding, along with this form i have to provide a letter from my bank including information about my accounts, and a letter from my employer. right?

now help me underdstand this question "I have on deposit in savings banks in the United States:" is that asking me how much money in total i have in savings accounts ?

and also "I have other personal property, the reasonable value of which is:" the only real property i have is my car, do i have to mention that here? or can i leave blank? (i do not own property)

and this question just completely throws me off "I
intend
do not intend to make specific contributions to the support of the person(s) named in item 3.
(If you check "intend," indicate the exact nature and duration of the contributions. For example, if you intend to furnishroom and board, state for how long and, if money, state the amount in U.S. dollars and state whether it is to be given in a lumpsum, weekly or monthly, and for how long.
" i dont think i am going to make contributions?? shes going to live with me and were going to live off the money i make..... simple enough?? how should i answer this question ??

thanks for your help i'll be back to check replies.

In reference to bank statement or letter, it depends on your wage, w-2 form, or if you make little money, yes, they need to know if you can support your fiance(e). If your income is less, you need to say how much you have on saving. if you a lot, you not disclosed how much you have. But your house worht, trust fund, etc...

Hi,
I need someone's help.
Do I need to bring to the Embassy the DS-230 part 2 the day of my interview?
If yes, what I am supposed to answer to question 33a and 33b??? "Do you want SSA assign you a SSN?.... Consent to disclure?"
Thanks!!

Faustine

My advise to you is, YES to 33a, you want SS Administration to assign her/him a ss#, unless he/she has one before. And YES to 33b, Consent to disclosure. If you don't, US Embassy might think of bad impression on you why?

You need to bring it along in case they ask for it. Instruction says, you need to bring it along. On my finacee's interviewed, they don't ask for it, even thoug we have it. Hope this help and good luck!!

Is the I-134 really that big of a deal?

Suggestions are welcome, please help me out with some advice helpsmilie.gif

The I-134 is an optional document but it's a good guideline for what is needed to overcome any public charge concerns. As a US Citizen you actually ARE REQUIRED to file a tax return, even if your income was foreign. So, I would get busy filing them if I were you. If for some reason you were not required to file a return, you'll need to cite the IRS regulation that supports that assertion. All your money earned abroad is not a reason.

If you can show proof of liquid assets at least three times the annual required (125% of poverty level for household size) then just document that. If you use the I-134 and are self employed, the form indicates the need to provide the most recent year's tax return to support the claimed income.

Thanks a lot for the insight, I will take it in to consideration. biggrin.gif

I'll just say this, since your interview is coming up soon in June, 2008, there is no time to file any paper or getting any documentation in support of I-134 application. If the CO needs more proof in your case, they'll give you a detail letter that entails what they need. Like you mentioned, your case is a bit different, so if the CO indeed need more proof, you can then provide them with it. They'll allow/give you same day and up-to-a-year to provide the proof the CO is asking. After 1 year, they will disallow your case and you'll need to file new application as far as I know from what I saw on other people who didn't get their visa during the interview from Consular Officer.

I'm preparing for my interview for te K-1 visa smile.gif

I was about to go in to my local hometown police station to ask for my police checks when I realized.. ####### do i need one for everywhere I've lived? Im currently in Nova Scotia and have spent 2 years in korea, and 5 years ago i lived in the US for a seasonal job. Can I just call someone to get those police checks?

And do i bring the police checks with me, or are they sent from the police to the consulte without touching my hands?

As far as I know, only foreign fiance(e) needs to do the police report. Anyway, you need to bring the police report to the Embassy before they schedule your interview (read your packet instructions). However, each country may function differently so check it to be sure. In most cases, they only want your most current resident police report.

Hi everyone,
Our NOA2 approved and sent to NVC, what is next?
When do I have to send DS-3032?
Does NVC sends anything to me?
When do I send AOS(I-864)?
Do I have to wait until NVC send me something to pay $70?
I'm kind of confuse.
Thanks.

A further step to take -

1. Your fiance(e) will do his/her part now(package3 and package4), including paying for medical
exam, vaccination, x-ray, and interview fees, police report, and filling 3 other forms (DS-156,
DS-156K, DS-230, part I), etc. USEmbassy at foreign countries will provide these information
to your fiance(e). http://www.visajourn...mp;page=k1forms

2. You will need to send him/her (fiance(e) the following:
a. two exact copies of the entire I-129F package you make or send to USCIS,
b. all evidences of an ongoing relationship from the time you filed this package up-to-date.
c. a copy of your NOA2 (original copy USCIS mailed to you)

Nothing from NVC, except they will mail you your hardcopy of NOA2 (I-797) which you need to send to your fiance(e). All others will be mailed at later time, closer to an interview timeframe (recent paystub, income tax return), etc. GOOD LUCK!!

Also, I am assuming you did file form I-134 already with your I-129F package, if not you'll have to do it now.

I agree with everything said! I had my interview nearly a month ago and I too need to be supported by my fiance until I'm able to obtain employment.

I submitted:

1. I-134 - Affadavit of Support
2. My fiance's pay stubs
3. Letter from his employer confirming his employment
4. Tax returns

We didn't get the 1-134 notarised so, although the visa was approved, it's been withheld until I send the notarised document along with my passport to the embassy. This I've done and now awaiting my visa package.

Good luck! good.gif

I've seemed many fiance(e) got deny visa due to lack of this form, I-134 (Affidavit of support), and DS-156K specifically mentioned it. US Embassy will ask for this financial support (w-2, paystub, company letter and bank notarized), etc. I believe K1 visa will never be granted until you provide these proof to the US Embassy. If they give you K1 visa, then you have nothing to worry about it.
