Renewing driver's license during ROC

Hi there, yeah, actually I have done it myself last year here in SC.. My GC expired last Jan. 2012 and I renewed my DL last March 2012 and everything went fine..I brought my expired GC and the NOA1 ( extension letter) and of course they also asked for another docs such as proof of residency (like utility bills, bank statements, etc proving I live in that area) and the SSN card...and my DL was renewed for a year..Altho, on my first week after I renewed it, I was only given like a temporary DL in the form of paper ( still you can drive!) because they said, they have to check my immigration status first and that they have to send off my application (renewing my DL) to the main DMV office here in SC..Oh well, after 1 & 1/2 weeks, I finally got my DL card in the mail...(good ONLY for a year tho from the time you renewed it)...Just go back to their office once you get your 10-yr GC and they'll give/ renew your DL which is good for 5 years ( depends on the state)..

P.S. Time flies so fast and fortunately, I just got approved for the ROC..Its been more than a year now and with my DL expiring, but this time it would be different, I have the 10-year GC in my hand..I've had just renewed my DL 2 days ago and I was given the normal 5 years time frame before it'll expire again! :dance:

Renewing driver's license during ROC

How do you do this? My driver's license expires when my green card does.

If I take NOA + gc to renew it, will I get a license that's only valid for the year extension that the NA grants me?

When do I do if they won't accept NOA when I renew my driver's license? It takes almost a year to process the RoC. I can't drive on an expired license for almost a year!

I dont know about other states but I know that USCIS State of Hawaii branch is controlled mostly by filipino ethnic usa citizens or naturalized filipinos who are easy on filipinos but hard on other asians and other ethnics.

I saw this happening here because I faced and accused one of the inspector with her favors to filipinos and she just walked away. I also know these immigration inspector favors from filipino people themselfs because they all openly talk about it .They mentioned that hawaii is kind of easy way to get into usa and most filipinos using hawaii as their gateway to the usa because they already have information that they have fiipinos in the government of Hawaii and they are easy on filipino nationals here in hawaii and naturally over their USCIS processes and once they have GC or citizenship they move to mainland to California or other states or just reside in Hawaii. so you are filipino and new comer you better use hawaii and doesnt matter if you have fake documents they ll let you get away with it.

This is something not only about immigration purposes and benefits but also for the jobs, First of all State of Hawaii got no hawaiians and 80 or 90 % of them are filipino ethnic or filipinos from the philippines and the rest are japanese ,chinese and other asians. somehow they have strong filipino powerhold in the government and they control all of the moves in favor of filipinos. this is something I faced and heard from filipinos .so you can apply for any job and if you are a caucasian you will almost get NOTHING ,not even a call back !unless you have some connections. this is a known fact here in Hawaii . you can see that most employees in Hotels, ABC stores ,Walmarts,Sams clubs ,Department of Transportation and most transportation companies are filipinos, as a matter of fact one of the General manager of a top transportation company told me in person that filipinos actually bought the D.O.T and they control the honolulu airport and the transportation operations in hawaii, so almost all the people you see working here are noone but filipions, you can see many homelesss people here but there are no filipinos, but there are back in the philippines because the nation itself looks like homeless ,I have been to philippines and i have seen it all but they are not as pitty as most people thinks, its not that I have something against filipinos but they are really talented con artists. I have seen them in japan too and they are famous with their fake marriages and deportations.

Well, Yeah because FILIPINOS are very hard-workers! Im proud of them at some point knowing that they EXCEL better in other countries!

When it comes as to how they run their offices/ branches, I have No comment about it! Sometimes we have to learn something along the way that life is kinda UNFAIR!

I'm wandering if anyone out there has dealt with the U.S. Embassy in Ghana?
My husband had an interview there on February 13,2013. They told him they needed further evidence of our relationship, gave a list of documents that could be used as evidence and rescheduled him to come back on March 18,2013. Well when he went for interview, the lady was very rude. He answered all her questions and the lady flat out told him he was a lie because he told her I like to watch Nigerian movies when asked that question. Said how is it possible for me to watch 9ja movies when I'm in the states. (Has she never heard of this thing called YouTube? )
Anyway, she drilled him some more then told him he needs to come back May 16,2013 without giving him a reason or looking at the documents he brought! I am so frustrated and so is my husband. It's been a year since we've seen each other. At this point we are making arrangements for me to come there.
Does anyone have any advice for us? Please help!

Hey guys,

Im back...How are you? I hope everyone here is doing good and wishing to those who were still stuck for AP will be released soon..Ive been with this very tough /hard times (AP @ NVC) before for 52 days but now all went very well for us right after NVC released us ( Thanks God!) I passed my 2-day medical exam last Feb 17&18 and just today (March 4), Ive had my interview appointment at USEM (of course ), and you know what? My K1 VISA IS APPROVED !!!
So to all my stuck @ NVC family, thank you so much for all your help, encouragements, suggestions/ ideas and prayers..Keep on believing, dont lose your hope

Having been through it now myself, I advise calling every day because it seems they really have no idea what they're saying, and the information provided by one agent can be opposite to what the other one will say in a phonecall maybe even minutes apart.

On the other hand, I feel a lot better now, but I must admit I am just as worried about the outcome of the interview. The embassy employee said today they had nothing at all even mentioning the wait at NVC, butbut. You never know with them.

It went very well..no problem at all!

While going through our petition the Interviewer said...."Oh..I see you were stuck at NVC for some time...in RANDOM checks'. Random. She had paperwork about half an inch thick she was looking at..with a row of boxes all down one side, and little odd looking symbols in each them.

So..it seems it is random. And in the long run we did get our Visa. So if you're stuck at NVC and worried about those extra checks resulting in a denial, don't be.

Ohh yeahh its really hard not to be included in their random selection..waaaa its like most of us who were under AP waited soo long, like 7 weeks or more before they will released and send it to the USEM.. My friends (Jane and Che)who were also been in AP for almost 2 months but out of AP now had already their interview sched...I and badgerella almost had the same date/timeline when NVC got our case...We just have to be more patient when situation like this comes...We're hoping that by next week we can get some good news from NVC
