Huh...yea, where did I read about that....? Or maybe I just made my own conclusion since you are only required to get a police record from places where you've lived for more than 6 months.

You can just either use an electrical typewriter (like i did) or hand write all the fields on G-325A if you have problem with the + signs and don't wanna download the new Adobe. I was using 7.0 and the plus sign still came up...then I just got bored of it and decided to type down the answers manually. It won't be a problem.

You only write down places where you have lived for 6 months or more under residences last five years.

Hello and welcome to VJ!
Just wanna let you know that you CAN get through this process without a lawyer as long as you don't have any situation that would complicate your case. My fiance and I did it ourselves,....and one positive thing is that our relationship became even stronger after getting through this process by ourselves. YAY!! :D

But surely, if you don't mind the money and you feel more comfy using a lawyer than doing it yourself (less stressful), then by all means, do hire one! :) good luck!

Uhm...i think it should be better for both of you to wait a little than trying to get the tourist visa...
Although my attempt to get a tourist visa after I got engaged did not raise a problem at the interview, some other couple in Brazil actually almost had a problem because of the same reason. Her fiance was denied a tourist visa after they got engaged and the interviewer suspected that he was trying to commit a fraud......

I used to have a friend in Japan who took his wife's last name after marriage. The reason was because she was the only child so there was no one who could "inherit" the last name but her.

My fiance is the only child also...he got 2 pairs of parents and his dad and step-mom do not have children after they got married, so.. I've decided to take his last name so that when we have kids later on, they will have their dad's last name :) Beside, I don't have a last name hahaha.... must be weird for you guys but.... lots of Indonesians do not have last names. So my fiance's last name will be an addition to my first and second name.

My fiance said he got a letter and I got an e-mail from them cuz I actually e-mail them to ask about my case's status! Just give them your case number and your names! :D

Uhm....they did not ask for my fiance's original birth certificate at the interview..plus it's kinda risky to send original documents anywhere. But then again, it depends on each country's consulate.

Wait ill you get your packet 3. You'd know what to do next once you've read the instructions. One thing I worry is...you might have to wait till your man comes back to get your I-134/Affidavit of Support? ...or maybe he'd get some time to fill it out while he's in Middle East. I hope everything will work out just fine! :)

Uhm...I don't get you...where's your timeline? Have you filed yet? You are the USC and your foreign fiancee is in Manila? But...if so..why did YOU have the medical exam and not your fiancee? ....uhm....maybe you could try again after reading the guides.
