When I went through the petitions for all of December a heck of a lot of RFE's were sent out anyway. It's perfectly normal! There are a lot of people out there that don't read instructions or do need additional information. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	January I-129F filers	So i was just talking to a friend here in Honduras...a former coworker...and he was telling me about how his neighbor just got denied for the K1 visa! The girl is from here and the guy from the US...they've been living together and she is pregnant and so they thought they "had it in the bag" and went for the interview like 2 weeks ago and were denied with no explanation whatsoever as to why! Anybody have any ideas of why they would not be able to get an answer about the denial??! They went to the consulate office here in the northern region today and the people there treated the guy terribly. I haven't talked to the couple since I don't know them but it sounds scary and sad after going through all of this....ugh. Freaked me out a bit. But then again, they are not here on VJ, so they probably didn't have all of the "right answers" like all of us do, right?! Lots of speculation and guesswork but we did have a moment where we both just talked about how horrible this wait is and for all of you guys I just read your post in the Knightsbridge thread about being able to meet photomile. So cool and I'm sure it was great to put an actual human with the messageboard name. Well, we're not quite sure if I'm human yet. All I see are ones and zeros Update: We received the RFE from Vermont today. My fiance had filed his divorce paper that he received from the county clerk's office. It was stamped and sealed and everything, but apparently they want the "Final Divorce Decree" only. Fortunately he has a copy of it (all 33 pages) and we are sending it back to them by overnight express tomorrow. The RFE also states that from the date they receive our submission, it will take a minimum of 14 days to process the form, and if we haven't heard from them within 60 days, we may contact them. Jeesh all this waiting and now an RFE pushing you back further. I am so sorry, but, as little consolation as it is, at least someone has physically looked at your petition. Indeed... no one will ever understand us unless they go through the same thing... it's not easy but there is something that awaits us and that's beautiful and worth waiting and fighting (sometimes with our own selves) for! This is the finish line... it seems to be long but we are getting there slowly but surely ! Exactly. If you ever wanted a test of a relationship. The arguments, the stress and difficulty this has caused because of the waiting, the messing around. I think it's only the military that has us beat on distance from partners. We all deserve far more credit than we actually get for surviving this. The weird thing is that on the Embassy's website for here, K1 is listed on the non-immigrant page...so that's why it's crazy to me! They themselves put it there and yet it's not correct.. Actually, the K1 visa is a non-immigrant visa. This is why you have to adjust status. The K1 is a visa to 'lawfully enter the United States with the intention of marrying' . It doesn't give any right to remain and neither does it give you any immigrant rights, this is why it expires in 90 days after entry and it's a single use visa. You then have to adjust status to an immigrant to become a CLPR (Conditional lawful permanent resident) at which point you are then on an immigrant visa. Couple with single factor authentication for online banking... yeah as much as I like the USA, the banking system is stuck in the 70's. I would guess they remove automated service. phone# (603) 334-0700 also regarding the 'not connecting'. They get stupidly busy at times. I know it isn't much of a consolation, but at least you know the case has been actioned. I just hope the RFE is something nice and simple and easy to fix. We got a service request!!!! i am so proud of my baby!!! Basically guys when you ring USCIS you have to insist on talking to level 2 CSR!!! Dont even bother explaining to the peraon who answers the phone, just keep saying you want to speak to the level 2. Terry had to repeat like 5 times till they put him through... Then Tier 2 said straight away that we are over the processing time and put through the request. Do you guys know how much it takes to do a security check on a 22 year old girl, even if she's from Iran? You might want to ask in your regional forum. From what I understand Iran does get some additional scrutiny, but it's not always the person that holds it up and that the Iranian government sometimes is *ahem* tardy, in responding to people. I didn't know Lorie had sent the email until we spoke at lunch, and I'm glad she did. We've both been rooting for everyone even though we're approved. People wait here almost half year in pain and tears to read someone giving an advice on how great the system works and how we will all get approved when he/she knows nothing about the wait and what we've all been through.. As LorRenee said, if VSC had continued with the same kind of timescales that we were seeing months ago (approvals around 114 days for UK filers), I would conceivably already be in the USA. Now I'm hoping and praying I can get out there at least at the end of August, but I have no idea if this is going to be possible. I'm just hoping to get through it. I hope everyone is emailing the ombudsman. Someone needs to do some serious investigative work and get things moving again. Seeing so many of you guys that supported us still stuck waiting is horrible, and I really really hope you all get some kind of notice by 3pm eastern on Monday. Good luck guys. My fiancee is sleeping right now but I messaged her on google talk That said, I know how it feels to read other people's approval posts and still be waiting. So I'm thinking about all of you guys! I was pretty down last night and was losing hope and didn't expect anything this morning! Hey hello vjers!!!! I just wanted to say that I JUST GOT APPROVED!!!! I got my NOA2 at 9:45 PM PST via the USCIS website, also I got the email notification and when I logged into my USCIS account and it was updated today!!!!!!!!! I feel sooooooooooooooooooooooooo relieved and happy that we finally got our NOA2, I truly can't describe how this feels.....I thought I was going to have a heart attack of happiness lol wowowowowowowowowowowowowowow P.S. For those who are still waiting, don't give up hope trust me I know how excruciating it feels to be waiting and waiting at the mercy of USCIS and being away from your better half, keep your heads up and before you know it(literally) you guys will get your NOA2 =) We just got our approval today too!
