K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresevidence of ongoing relationship
Send photocopies of your boarding pass stubs. Take the originals to the interview, in case they ask to see them.

Fill in the I-129F and the two G-325As completely, including original signatures (not photocopies of signatures).

Too expensive, and also bad quality.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresevidence of ongoing relationship
After using Skype Out to call my fiancee on her cellphone, I have to say I'm greatly disappointed. The connection quality is horrible, and most of the time she can't hear me. I also tried sending her a text message, and she didn't even get it. The quality is much better when I make free calls directly to her computer. I've used less than $2 of the $10 minimum I could buy, and I'm not sure if I'll even use the rest.

This gives me a dilemma... Do I continue calling her with the lousy connection, just so I have a phone log that MIGHT be asked for at her interview? Or do I give up and just use the much better quality, free service to her computer, and not have a log?

I've seen candleforlove.com from another thread. I've just glanced at it so far, but I'll certainly use it to prepare for the interview.

I'm nearly ready to send the petition off to the VSC. Here's what I've got, let me know if there's anything I'm missing:

-check for $455, payable to US Department of Homeland Security
-cover letter listing all contents, with my signature
-I-129F, completed, with my original signature
-supplement, part B, question 18, brief description of how we met, with my signature
-G-325A for myself, all four pages with my original signatures
-passport style photo of myself, in a plastic bag, attached to a sheet of paper
-G-325A for my fiancee, all four pages with her original signatures
-passport style photo of her, in a plastic bag, attached to a sheet of paper
-copy of my birth certificate
-letters of our intent to marry, with our original signatures
-four photos of us together, on separate occasions; names, location, and date written on the back of each
-copies of four airline boarding pass stubs to Beijing
-copies of the visas and four entry stamps in my passport
-copies of four ATM receipts showing withdrawals while in China, spanning a range of dates
-copy of an envelope, showing postmark date, of a Christmas card she sent me (this is the only snail mail I've gotten from her)
-five screenshots from her webcam, spanning nearly a year
-15 pages of emails, spanning the length of our relationship
-20 pages of chat logs, spanning the length of our relationship

I have two exact copies of the entire package (except the check) that I will keep for now.

There is no engagement ring. I already have lots of evidence of having visited her on four different occasions.

I already put Shenyang on the I-129F as the consulate where my fiancee would apply for her visa. Should I change it to Guangzhou before I send it? I wouldn't want to get an RFE just for something stupid like that.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I've already printed out a few screen captures from her webcam. Good thing my client saves webcam sessions. I think I might go ahead with the Skype calling to her mobile phone. Sounds like good insurance. I won't be able to include it in my initial petition package, but I'll have it for her interview, when it really counts.

Thanks. I guess I will be including some emails and chat logs, to be safe. I hope they don't make her go all the way to Guangzhou for the interview. There is a US consulate in Shenyang, where she lives. I know a girl who told me she had to go to Guangzhou from Xi'an for the interview, and I was confused why she had to go so far. Does anyone know about this? Do they make everyone in China go to the Guangzhou consulate for the interview?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresevidence of ongoing relationship
Ok, I think I've got enough evidence of having met in person. I've got copies of four airline boarding passes to Beijing, copies of visas and four entry stamps in my passport, and photos of us together. The issue comes to what's acceptable as evidence of an ongoing relationship. Listed in the guide are things such as phone bills, physical letters and stamps, and emails. Leilei and I, being modern Internet-dwellers, have used the Internet exclusively for contact (email, text chats, voice chats, and webcams). I've never called her from a regular phone, because Internet voice chatting is free, and usually has a better quality connection. I've never sent or received snail mail from her (other than a Christmas card), because snail mail is expensive and takes two weeks, whereas email is free and nearly instantaneous.

So my question boils down to: Has anyone had a problem using only emails and chat logs as evidence of an ongoing relationship? I would think that the evidence of me visiting her four times should help some. I had some emails saved to a document file, but I read that it would be better to print them directly or print a screen shot, to quiet any suspicion that I made them up. How many emails are enough? Six pages worth? What about chat logs? I could print out a novel.

Did you get a number that you can track the package online? I sent mine the day before yours, and I just got the return receipt back today. I checked online a couple days ago, and it was delivered two days after I sent it. The return receipt said it was delivered the day after the website said it was though.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVisiting soon, should I take any papers with?
Prepare a letter of intent to marry for her to sign. Take her G-325A for her to sign. If there's any info on the I-129F that she needs to provide, take it with you and let her fill it in. I took all these to my fiancee the last time I visited, so I wouldn't have to worry with mailing the forms, and I was there with her to show her exactly what info I needed.

I forgot to mention get passport pics of her. Thanks estadia.

It's perfectly fine for you guys to get married while she's here, as long as she doesn't intend to stay. Then you can file a petition for a K-3, and she can go home and wait. If you don't want to marry now, you can file for a K-1.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F Question
In your case, it makes the process easier. London is one of the easiest consulates to go through. Guangzhou, China, is one of the hardest.

I would write his name in Chinese, but it's probably not needed.

Don't hire a lawyer unless you have some unusual problems with your case. You'll still need to provide evidence and fill out the forms. It will just be a waste of money, most likely. Read around here a little. Most people who have used lawyers wished they hadn't.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPlease Help, Specific Questions Regarding Marriage, Specific Visas, Work Status, Length it takes to come, ect.
There is no fast, legal way for her to come to the US permanently. IF she gets a visitor's visa, you may marry, but she still must leave the US when her visa's period of stay is up. If you go this route, you may file for a spousal visa after you marry. It will probably take at least eight months, maybe longer. Entering on a visitor's visa with the intent to adjust status is visa fraud. If she tells them she's going to get married when she applies for a visitor's visa, she will most likely be denied, because the consular officers will assume she will visit with the intent to immigrate.

You can file for a fiancee visa now, but that will also take a long time, at least six months, probably longer (usually shorter than a spousal visa though). If she can't get a visitor's visa, she can't visit you while the petition is being processed.

You'd normally use her current country of residence, but in this case I'd suggest you go through the consulate in Taiwan. Guangzhou is one of the most difficult consulates to go through.

Boarding passes are better than flight itineraries. I'd put all my effort into finding that passport, as the visas and entry stamps are very strong evidence. ATM receipts are good too.

Sorry to hear about your previous relationship. No one deserves that.

I'm sure you do know him well, and in all likelihood you'll get along great in person. I knew someone once for about seven months before meeting her in person, and she was quite different from what I expected. She had hidden some aspects of her personality from me.

I see marriage as a huge decision that should never be taken lightly, so please, meet each other, and spend some time together, before you take any more steps. You are lucky enough that you live relatively close to each other (compared to many of us on VJ), and either of you can fairly easily visit the other. Take advantage of that.

And then again, the majority of people here (and I am starting to lean towards anywhere in the world, too) assume that OHMYGOD people can live in the US only because any and all other countries in the world are just a piece of s**t and even considering about living there makes you a freak of some sort. Or worse.

What on earth is anyone's problem, here? As far as I understand, the OP wants to cancel his current petition and move to China and just be there. They don't feel like waiting, while being apart, and obviously the OP doesn't think he can live in the US and nowhere but the US. So, what's the problem? His Chinese wife won't feel the awesomeness of the States? Ohmygod, will she survive?!??!?! Eventually, at some point in their life (not our place to even guess or care about, really), they'll maybe apply for whichever visa and go to the States. Or, hey, maybe they'll live happily ever after IN HOLYWOW HORRIBLE ICKY CHINA WHICH HOLYWOW ISN'T THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, where everything is just milk and honey and birds and rainbows.

*instert a vomiting smiley*

If he intends to eventually file for a K-3, I don't think he'll be in any hurry for it. I took his "do this thing the other way" to mean applying for permanent residency in China, but I'll shut up and let him speak for himself.

People, READ the OP. He's NOT going to file for a K-3 visa. He's moving to China permanently. From what I can tell, it is FAR easier for a USC to get permanent residency in China than it is for a Chinese National to get any US visa.

All this waiting around still exists when u get married and file the k3 visa you have already applied for the K1 why give it up to wait around for a different visa. The way i understand it takes even longer for the other visa though i am not exactly sure, my friend applied for a k3 visa and it took over a year for them to be together.
Before cancelling your k1 research the wait times etc for your new application good luck on your journey.

Like someone else said, you didn't say how long you have been waiting. Are you deep enough in the process that I could say just hang in there and you would rethink?

However it goes for you, I'm sorry, and I hope it works out for you in the end. Godspeed to the end.

I DEFINITELY don't think you should cancel your K1. no0pb.gif

Why not just go back to China for about 3 months (if you can) with your sweetheart and wait it out together???
Simply get a street address type mail box. Have your mail sent to you their in China. (USCIS wont forward mail, but a 3rd party will).

Trust me, if you go the K3 or regular I-130 to CR-1 route, you WILL wait longer than the K1 ClockWatch2.gif . For some reason the K1 is usually faster than other routes, however that changes from time to time depending on the service center your at.

Again, don't chunk your petition. Your just throwing away your "place in line". Refiling again as a married couple doesn't make your wait faster and you'll be more pissed off than you already are. PLUS this would most likely put a SERIOUS strain on your marriage....and that's something no couple needs...especially a new couple just starting out together.

Hope my advice helped you.

Good luck on whatever you decide.

I think most of the wait is because GUZ is so backlogged. They just use the excuse that it's in customs. I don't know why they don't open up one or more other consulates to handle this process. After all, it is the most highly populated country in the world.

They won't throw anything away. Everything you submit will be sent to the consulate after approval. If your fiancee lived in a high fraud country, like China, I'd recommend to include anything and everything you can get your hands on, but in this case, it's most likely overkill.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureshi there everyone
When you sign that intent to marry paper, you're telling the USCIS that you're engaged. You are engaged to the petitioner. Do you understand what that means? That means you want to marry him, and spend the rest of your life with him. Going to the US is not your goal, spending your life with your fiance is.

So... why in the hell are you trying to get engaged to another guy at the same time? Stop scamming American men. You won't have a better life here, especially if you don't give a ####### about your fiance. My advice: Break it off with both guys, and forget about going to the US. Or better, let both of them petition for you. I honestly hope you get permanently banned from the US for immigration fraud. People like you are why those of us with real relationships have such a hard time.

Guangzhou is the busiest consulate in the world. They normally take 3 - 4 months to get to your case after NVC sends it to them. We were lucky enough to go from NOA2 to P3 in only a month, but we're the exception rather than the rule.
