US Citizenship General DiscussionN-400 April 2013 Filers
We got our biometrics letter today, scheduled for April 30th, my wife's birthday. It'll be her present I suppose. Actually I'm going to see if we can do it early, because we're scheduled for 8:00am, and we'll probably have to leave at 4:00am to beat the rush hour traffic to get to Baltimore in time.

Ive got a postal tube to transport the X-Ray and i cant get it to fit because the envelope the X-ray is contained within just wont roll without kinking. Is it ok for me to open the envelope and ditch it and then just roll the X-Ray and stick it inside the tube ??

Curious as to what yall did with your X-Ray's ??

Hey Paul,

Wont be long now before you will be flying home. It does get easier as time goes on but the best way to think is this will be the last time your apart which is easier said than done but it does get easier. Me and Mandy will be at the embassy on Thursday morning and we have our interview scheduled for 11am and i see yours is 10.30am so maybe we will see you there.

They dont know unless you tell em..be prepared for anything..but dont give them or tell them anything unless I/O specifically ask for it...she asked me for lease and i told her, that i dont have. she said i need to verify the address, i gave her the IRS Letter showing my name and address and she was totally fine with it.

Sorry for delay. Interview went very well. lady was very cooperative...To me it look like that all she was concerned was that "all my info is correct on form"...had two different address, she was fine with it...Had traffic ticket taht was dismissed, she didnt ask, i didnt mentioned on form or durring interview...She asked ten questions, i answered all. SHe didnt ask to see any papers except my Passport to see my last arrival date..dont have any utilities bill or lease or anything of that sort...she asked for tax transcript which i gave it to her. she told me that oath is on October 19th and i will get letter in the mail. Gave me a paper that i passed the interview...
interview Question
1- who was first presdent?
2- indian tribe name?
3- Chief Justtice..
4-When we elect preseident?
5-How many member of house?
6-War fought 1900?
7-How many years we elect president..

I dont remember last ten...i answered all correct, i dont know why she dint stop at 6?

In short, from my experience, all i can say, that it was a good effort by USCIS to make sure that all information on N 400 was correct and My name, date of birth, SS# and A# were right....Cant wait to get the oath letter now

He told me that they got a surge in cases from two years ago and that the system is just not working properly now.

Nevertheless, he stamped my husband's passport and we went to another location and got the Biometrics done the same day. I was so glad because our local office is 5 hours away from where we live.

What was interesting everything was all in the system, the case number, biometric appointment time, etc. (now how would we have known when to come and how to track the status without receiving any notices).

Ironically, when we made it back home I checked the mail and there was the Biometrics letter; appointment (January 9,2008) Oh well, I am glad I went because I am done...just waiting on approval.

I never received an NOA and never will I suppose...but at least I am back on track and just waiting for approval. I recommend anyone that has not received there NOA after some time to go to there local office. Maybe you will be lucky like I was to get your passport stamped and Bio done the same day.

Almost same thing happend to me. I called 1-800 number several time for no gain as they dont know anything (i think its 3rd party service that answers only general question which most of the people already knows) finally i decided to goto infopass (local Office). they not only printed my biometric apt letter but also let me take biometric same day. But anyhow, Congrats.....

i dont know what you think, but if i am you, i will make an info pass appointment and talk to them PERSONALLY. There is no need to call that so called 1-800 number because they dont know anything. infopass is the only way to go....

Considering current timings, i think you should wait till Feb10, 2008 and if you didnt recieve one by then DONT CALL just make an info pass and see them in person. Believe me it will be worth driving 3 hours.

They are very nice and very fast. i didnt get my appointment letter in mail and went there and they printed me one. Really nice and cooperative people. On my Request, they even captured my biometrics same day. (Date 10/29/2007)

VSC been very slow lately. Aussielad can you please fill up your timeline as it will be very helpful for some folks. I think you will get approve sometime in February as timeline is showing july approvals.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFilling up the G-325A forms... again?
I am mailing out the I-130 petition for my wife today. I am also getting ready to file for I-129F (K3) just in case this gets approved faster and we can be together sooner... I noticed I had to fill out the same form G-325A just like I did for I-130... is this the case? Do I have to fill this out completely all over again?

How much is the filing fee for I-129F (k3)?

Just got my manil case number and email from the NVC regarding choice of agent. Was told by the operator at St. Luke's medical that all they needed from me to get a Medical was to pay the fee, photos, and an email with the case no. Will I be able to go for my medical with just that email? or is there another email specifically for instructions to proceed to St. Luke's? Its valid for 1 year anyway, so I thought the sooner I go, the better...

If you got the letter with a case number starts with MNL, you can call the embassy hotline and schedule an interview.. that's what we did..



Hi! I got excited when I read this. Our case is now with the NVC. We just paid the AOS fee and at this point, we are waiting to submit the rest of the requirements. I already know my MNL case number because the NVC sent me an email with the DS3032 (choice of agent) form. I was hoping to go ahead and try to get my medical done at St. Luke's. When I called, they said all they needed was any document with my manila case number... isnt it too early to schedule an interview when I know our documents have not been sent to the embassy yet? Your advise please! Thanks.

I will be having my interview on Aug 11. USC Hubby submitted all orig documents to the NVC, including my original NBI clearance. Should I bring another Orig copy to the embassy for my interview or will my "Personal" copy (which is also orig and printed in the green paper) suffice?

Well, I called NVC back to verify the information I got yesterday was correct because the woman really didn't act like she knew what she was talking about. The woman today said the embassy received our package on July 8th and sent out package 3 on July 15th. She must be referring to receiving the package electronically because i got a letter from NVC stating the package was sent out July 7th and I doubt the package got there in 1 day. So, I'm just as confused as I was before, but it does look like our package is at the embassy and now we wait for our interview date. Is there a way to confirm they received our faxed response?

just like that, without the www and it will bring up a page for the bogota embassy. along the top will be a visa button. go to the non immigrant visa part and download your k instructions and if you fiance has her passport, just fill out the DS 2100 that is page 4 of the information package, along with a cover letter and page 1 and 2 of DS 230 and fax it to them. Make sure she has everything else you need for the appointment but you will still have time to get the items taken care of.

Thanks Dennis. Yesterday I called the NVC and was told that they have received our package and we had already prepared the forms, so we faxed them later that afternoon.

That may help a little. But don't sit and wait around for the embassy to come back to you with an answer about what happened to your case 'cause it might take months.

Thanks for the info. I received 2 letters stating the case has been forwarded and called a few times to verify if the embassy has received the case. Looks like the times vary, so I guess I'll have to wait it out... again.

Actually, this is done quite often. I have done this numerous times myself. Espcially, if it is a first time meeting. And, yes there have been cases where the person I called did not know that the person was coming to "vist' nor was that "visitor" welcome!



Well it won't be a first meeting and she definitely knows im coming! (Shes harassing me to come sooner in fact but financially i can't swing it till then). One question though, she will most likely be there at the airport to greet me, and as of now has no cell phone.. would they be able to page her to confirm? Or should i just have her stay home in case they want to confirm?

One question I can think of now.. I have never flown before! And during that time of year I can only imagine it will be pretty busy.. is there a preferable time to depart/arrive to try and avoid some of the congestion?

Hello!! Just joined the site after perusing for a while and I must say there is a wealth of information here and I would like to thank everyone for a great site!

Anyhow, I met a great Canadian girl online a while back and she has already came to visit me here for 2 weeks, everything is going great!

I am planning to visit her in Toronto around the holidays (its her birthday as well). Im a thorough sort of person and have been reading up alot on crossing the border and what not, but have also found a lot of horror stories of being denied entry when attempting to visit ones significant other (granted most Ive seen where problems trying to come to the USA but a fair share of trying to get to Canada as well).

My GF didn't have any real problems when she came to see me, they did send her to secondary for extra questioning. I guess the return ticket and the fact she has kids in Canada that her mom was watching during her trip was sufficient for the guards. They did hassle her because she only had 100 Dollars but she told them she had money coming into her account soon (which was true) and no further problems.

My intent is strictly to visit as I plan to go through all the proper channels to Immigrate to Canada eventually. (Got some things I need to take care of here first). I'm curious as to how to prove to the Canadian border folks that my intent is simply to visit and not to stay illegally.

I will be flying into Pearson and will have a return ticket for what thats worth.

Any advice or experiences would be appreciated, Im probably being a bit too paranoid, but Ive been planning this trip for sometime and can't really afford to waste the money if I am denied entry for whatever reason.

Should be quite an experience for me, im from a small town and the largest city ive ever been in is Pittsburgh, PA for a day. Although i look foward to the diversity, as around here its all old white people tongue.gif.
