K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	3 weeks since NOA2, and still NVC has yet to get it (CSC)	My fiance just called NVC 3 mins ago and they said they didnt have our file there yet, our petition was approved on March 19th which is 2 days prior to Nova17's date where she got approved. She got her case number already (Congrats!) Can anyone pls explain to me why it could happen? They mentioned that they processed case by order. The consulate officer has no prrof to back up resaon for denial because there is no proof. Do you know how long an appeal can take ? Do you have any suggestions where we can go for help ! Why would he think u were married? Did u have non legal ceremony or something that was suspected by the consulate? I told her my NOA2 date was March 24, 2008. On the NOA2 is says "If it has been more than four weeks since you received this approval notice and you HAVE NOT received notification from NVC that you petition has been FORWARDED OVERSEAS, please call the NVC at (603) 334-0700" I told her I called them and they told me they didn't have it yet. So it must still be in California. She said she would look and put me on hold for a minute. When she got back on the line she said once the NOA2 is issued, the cases go to an "NVC staging area" to await shipment. Mine left the staging area yesterday which means that it is on its way to the NVC. It left on April 21, 2008. If you call this number and get someone who won't go look, just try back later. I'm hoping that all of you with March approvals are on the truck with me!!!!!!!! Hello, I wonder if they require the petitioner to call USCIS (using Tbone RFE trick) or can the beneficiary call too? It doesn't appear to be normal behavior for people who were approved before this time. My guess is something has happened. We've seen in other posts the following: - CSC just took on a new contractor for handling their mail which was delaying NOA1's for up to a month - H1B Visa's got dumped on the CSC April 1. - We know there's a big push to take care of the back log of name checks, some of which go back 3 years. So my guess is either one or a combination of those is what's causing this nightmare (Or maybe something else we haven't heard of). We were just "lucky" enough that our paperwork got approved at just the wrong time. You may be on to something. Maybe there is a misplaced shipment of March approvals??? Seems there are a lot. Did a pallet of March approvals get stuck in the back somewhere and is gathering dust? Given the exceptional time I think it is time for someone to get pushy. We are not in that group and were approved in mid-April so I can't push. There is obviously something all messed up (worse than normal) with CSC right now. Be good to get some more input and chatty conversations with CSC officers (not call center agents in New Mexico) may give us some leads. (There is an April 2 USCIS memo on the name check business) i am arguing with my fiance. this thing has really stressed me out. 5 weeks now and not case number. nothing. i am starting to get devastated. he's coming in 3 weeks and we always hoped to leave for US at the same time, now it's not gonna happen. let's be patient. as i am trying to be. They still havent updated mine, it still says pending and last touch was on 2-27-08 What should i do, u think i should call them, my fear is that they arent gonna send my petiton to the NVC cuz their stupid computer system still says pending even though i have hard copy of NOA2, You can give em a call to make sure, and also you can ask question like in what basis does CSC send approved cases to NVC, that would sorta help most of us that havent gotten case numbers yet. Does he mind if you have some wine? Do you refrain from drinking at his request? Hi mahboula! Wondering if you had religiously been married! I do not come from your side (non-muslim) with muslim partner. My hubby (then fiance) converted to Islam and he's been pretty good about setting alcohol aside. Not only for the sake of religion, yet it's healthier to be without it. I have a feeling that most muslim husbands will mind you drinking. Anyone? I am curious as well! There is one place I know of that sells halal meats & a few other things. So is there a list of brands that you can buy...stuff like chips, chocolate...etc? I'm scared to buy the wrong thing!!! On top of that all of my family is Christian and they buy their meat from the regular grocery store, so I am guessing we are going to have to take our own meat to family gatherings because I cannot be sure that what they are serving is halal (not to mention going to all the restaurants around here, pretty sure NONE of them serve anything remotely halal except veggies).....I want to make sure my husband is comfortable here and that he doesn't have to worry about what he is eating...any suggestions, tips, your experiences if you are/have been in a similar situation would be very helpful. Sorry its long-winded but I want to get the point across. Amanda Yes, as Allah/God promises to ease things, I do the same as the other poster does. Whenever I eat out and the halal chicken or beef isn't available, I say 'bismillah'. However, husband and I do not cook non-halal meat at home since we have options here (the halal meat store is quite reachable, about 35-40 minute away from home). I suggest you to cook more seafood at home, since there's no halal-haram term on it. Btw, I am touched on your effort in providing him a comfortable environment. God bless! You know the RFE was received - they don't always provide online updates and even when they do, it can take several weeks. Perhaps by that time you will already have your NOA2. They read just like your post! :energetic: What Does Doesn't Make Sense For You Pigu??? You never know for sure with CSC, but it seems very likely that this is just a system error and not a new RFE. In the past couple of weeks, their notification systems have been very unreliable and so your paper documents are your only solid information. Our petition was approved the week before last and we still haven't been notified by email, the online status is not approved either, BUT we received the NOA2 letter and a letter from NVC saying that they received our petition. Many others also didn't get emails. In your case, there's a repeat of an earlier email and this has also happened. Those recent touches are a very good sign (they still SEEM to still mean something!) but you may need to wait a week and see if a NOA2 appears in the mail. As always, be patient and don't expect the USCIS to be able to help you when errors like this occur. Paper is everything so be happy that your RFE letter has FOR SURE been received and so your NOA2 will be coming. With some luck, coming soon!! Good luck!!!!! Thanks.. Erichu!!!
