Hi everyone,

My friend contacted USCIS because she applied in September 2011 for removing conditioning and she was told that they are currently working on July Cases. Vermont Center. So we have some time to wait :/

Hello everybody,
I sent my package on January 17th. A week later I got two envelopes in the mail: GC extension letter and biometrics appointment. I did my biometrics on February 8th and now I am waiting.

My concern is that I can not see my case status yet, the web page says "case not found" (I tried using both NOA and biometric appointment receipt numbers). Are you in the same situation? Should I give them a call or just wait?

Thank you!

I'm right with you, applied on jan 10 and still my case is not found.

Hey everyone,

I had a small issue last night and needs anyone’s suggestion/advice.

When I was trying to head to Seattle yesterday for a business trip I was stopped by TSA when they noticed my Driver’s License was expired. Then I showed my Green Card which is also expired. Luckly I had the extension letter with me which allowed me to go through.

I was not as successful when I tried to get my rental car. The driver’s license was expired and no other document helped me.

They won’t let me renew my DL if I don’t have my CG apparently… How can I drive from/to work and make it on my regular trips without any valid document????? Should I get an INFOPASS and see what they suggest me???

Looking forward for some responses. Thanks

What state do you live in? This happened to my friend when She tried to renew her license however, She requested to speak to a person higher that those people who work at the window, and explained that the NOA paper meant that She was legally here and green card was extended for another year, they took a copy of the paper and they said they will verified this with uscis then send the driver license by mail and they did. You should contact the DMV office in your state and tried to speak with someone higher, I mean it's your right as a lawful resident! You have been granted extension therefore they should not deny your right to driver license. If they feel a paper is not enough they can contact uscis to confirm your here legally.

I am with Menina thanks to Everyone here for your support, I feel more confident about my process, I just wished I joined earlier when I first applied for AOS, luckily my appointment was done in 15 minutes, the lady didn't ask for much and we were approved so fast! So I'm hoping this ROC will go smooth as well! Is always great to have support from many people! Not that my husband doesn't give me any, he has been so wonderful through the process but it's nice to be able to chat with other people as well! :) good luck to everyone!

Hi Everyone-
We just got home from the interview. They kept us waiting for over an hour in the waiting room. Our interviewer was really nice and kind with us. I was surprised how many questions she asked us, though. Nothing really relating to our relationship, more about financial things. I had already submitted a ton of evidence with the initial filing, and she was looking through it while talking with us. I gave our most recent bills, bank statements, and several more letters from friends attesting to our relationship. The interview was probably 15 minutes long. She took a lot of notes probably to compare with what we had submitted. My husband did not know the answer to all of her questions like his SSN, but luckily I did. I also had to correct him on a couple of dates like when he started school and when he moved in to my house. (Stayed with my parents for a month when he arrived). She didn't seem to be really concerned about anything. Sadly though, she told us that we have to wait 30-60 days for a response. If anything is missing or they need to speak to us again, they will contact us. There was no indication that this was just a random pick, so I hope that there isn't something I am not aware of that needs to be resolved or sent in further delaying the processing. Sigh. I feel like we did the best we could and gave them what they want, so now it is just the waiting game again. Gotta love the slow wheels of the USCIS! Thanks for all of your support. If anyone else gets called for an interview and needs advice, contact me.

Thank you updating us! I'm pretty sure everything wil be okay. Did you check online? I remember a friend went to an interview and they told her she will have to wait 30 days for a response , but when she went home and checked her case status online it showed that her card production was ordered.

I know this is far from being a viable indicator but October 2011 applicants have been receiving approvals recently.

I hope things keep moving really fast for us all and that we'll either get approved next month without interviews or start getting an interview notification then receive our 10-year green card. Here comes March.

Yay this could be good! I hope they are using the high fees we pay to hire more staff, and get the ball rolling!

After three years of being a permanent resident. For example, I was married February 20, 2010, and got my green card April 22, 2010. I am eligible for citizenship as of April 22, 2013.

Actually it's 2 years 9 months :) since you were granted permanent resident. So you can apply for citizenship 3 months prior your 3 years but you will not get your naturalization oath until after the 3 years, but at least you can begin the process :)

Thank you very much for sharing your application to me. it helps me a lot and give me some clues. but not all of your supporting documents above the same of what we got.Especially we not renting a house but im not in the name on it yet coz my husband paid for it before i came over here im not worried about it we have some things that we can put our names together.. Do we really need to have a lot of evidence? what is the most important documents immigration need? And about the sworn affidavit from a friends i have a hard time to find that lol. i think they need to go to uscis incase i have a interview but i do think could anybody willing to do it for me. Whos the one writing on the cover letter u or your husband name appear on it? Thanks and advance for the answer.

I Will say try to gather as much information as possible, but If you don't have a lease together I don't think it's a bit deal, maybe ask your husbands landlord to write you a letter saying you both live together. I myself did not have a lease with my hubby, but we did have bills, bank accounts, affidavits, etc. our old attorney once said that if we didn't have a lease it's good to have affidavits from friends who have visited your home and seen you both live together. Don't really worry about it too much, just gather all the info you have. I was freaked out at first but honestly I'm not anymore specially when my hubby told me that he will do anything us to stay together, and I'm pretty sure yours will too!! I just don't see why uscis will deny any or our applications because we are all legit and in love! It sucks that we have to gather so much paperwork! But I guess that's what they want. In regards to the letter it's my husband writing it and signing it, we did get this from an online template but change it a bit to fit our case and evidence.

menina, may the best of things happen to you and your husband in your upcoming interview. We're all excited here to hear how it goes. Posted Image

I can't remember anyone in this thread mentioning that they hired a lawyer to file their I-751. You might want to check out the guides:
http://www.visajourn...ontent/751guide

We didn't hire a lawyer, my husband didn't want to because this process it's pretty simple only i-751 forms and our evidence. He said we could save the $2000 dollars our attorney was trying to charge and use it for our celebration trip when the 10 GC card arrives. Depends on your case, I think that If your case it's complicated then you should seek legal advise otherwise, you can do it on your own. :) VJ has great on how the paperwork should be filled out and USCIS has great instructions online too!

That is really good to know, Laura. Posted Image I see that you've been eagerly waiting for the biometric appointment letter for sometime now.

Happy birthday to Jon.

Posted Image I don't have answers for you but this link may provide a little info.

Did you verify if the local office is legit? If it is, then you may just be lucky to have a chance to nail your I-751 approval less than 2 months from filing.

I noticed that a few applicants in the September 2011 ROC thread got approved by CSC less than 2-3 months after filing. I didn't check whether or not they had interviews though.

Btw, did your case status change online, too?

Did you once set up mobile and email alerts through the USCIS website and received notifications for this interview other than the actual mail?

This could be good, because you can probably get approved right there ...lets look at it from the positive side :) we are here to support you. If they interviewing people is what they are doing now, I would muh rather get interviewed and get it out of the way, nothing to worry about at the interview, im pretty sure it will go smooth :)

I entered the receipt number just like I have done before but it says it doesn't exist. Has anyone experienced a similar thing?

Hi Val,

I had the same issue, after contacting USCIS they said that some cases aren't available online or haven't been entered in the system. :( so your not alone
coco2012Female02012-02-04 15:26:00
Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 January 2012 Filers

I think some cases aren't even trackable online? It probably depends on each particular adjudicator. Maybe some don't scan them into the system OR scan them only when they first receive the packet OR only scan them in during the later stages (approval / card production?). We can't know for sure because the packets probably change hands during the whole process.
BTW, how did you find out when the service center received your biometrics? :)

Hi! I've added you to the CSC list!

  • You should receive the NOA within 30 days of filing the I-751. If you still haven't received it after the 30 days are up, you can contact the USCIS so they can send you another copy.
The NOA is the extension letter.
  • You should also receive the Biometrics notice within 30 days, they usually send the appointment notice approximately 14 days ahead of the scheduled appointment.
    https://egov.uscis.g...scriptions.do#2

No one knows for sure whether doing an early walk-in actually speeds up the process.
  • There is no direct number to the CSC but you can call the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at 1-800-375-5283
    * 1-800-767-1833 (TDD for the hearing impaired)
If you or your spouse / sponsor is a member of the military, you can call the Military Help Line at 1-877-247-4645
  • USCIS Service Centers
If you contacted the National Customer Service Center with a case-related inquiry and more than 30 days have passed and you have not received a response, you may email the appropriate USCIS Service Center with your inquiry:
    California Service Center: csc-ncsc-followup@dhs.gov
    Vermont Service Center: vsc.ncscfollowup@dhs.gov
    Nebraska Service Center: ncscfollowup.nsc@dhs.gov
    Texas Service Center: tsc.ncscfollowup@dhs.gov
If you do not receive a response within 21 days of contacting the Service Center, you may contact the USCIS Headquarters Office of Service Center Operations by email at SCOPSSCATA@dhs.gov
I hope that helps! ^_^

I know they received my biometrics on 1/31 because the officer I spoke to on the phone was checking the status on file and they said that they had my biometrics on file effective 1/31 "shows that I already got biometrics done" and I had gotten done on 1/27 which means they recived them 4 days later. I guess after biometrics are done my file still sits on a desk :( I hope Vermont hurrys up!!!!!! I wanna take a vacation with my husband!

Oh Vermont you need to speed up! Also, the biometrics I did on 1/27 were received by vermont on 1/31, so I'm guessing they take about 4-5 days to recieve biometrics.... I added you to the VSC list! ^_^ Welcome to the thread! I'm so glad to be part of a big group! ^___^ It makes the process a little easier, being able to share news with other people who know how stressful it can be waiting...

That's a great idea! Jim is getting the day off work for my Biometrics appointment (since I can't drive myself yet) and we'll probably celebrate at a nice restaurant too (we don't have many "restaurants" up here, LOL). I really miss being in a bigger city ^__^;;

I updated your info with the early bio! ^___^ I was wondering when somebody would try to do a walk in - we'd do it too if the ASC office wasn't 5 hours away and we don't want to risk getting turned away after such a long drive :(

I agree I honestly wouldn't risk driving 5 hours to be turned down :( unless you can find forums on you bio office and see if they are lenient towards walk ins, that is how I found out I could go to mine, I saw in a thread that many people were going early without a problem, so I thought I do if too and I was in and out in 15minutes, not sure if this wil help to speed up process but I much rather get it out of the way and wait for the next letter (hope the green card not rfe/interview)

I think the original date should stay (otherwise it looks like you got a 'regular' but unusually early Bio). I've seen in other threads that they simply append "(early bio xx/xx)" at the end of your row to signify early biometrics walk-in.

We've planned to celebrate at our favorite restaurant once Biometrics are done, can't wait!

Yes, I agree! I been checking out other threads and they ad it on the side ;) ...celebrating sound great! We are planning a trip once my 10 GC arrives... We are thinking on a cruise but not sure yet! We can't wait for all this process to be over!

Oh that would be so wonderful if that would be the case for us too... I really hope we all get speedy approvals! I kind of feel like we're going to be in some sort of limbo once our green cards expire and all we have are just our NOA1s to prove that we're not out of status. From everything I've heard, some government agencies (like the DMV) don't even recognize the NOA1 as an official document :(

I hope that is not my case :( I really need my license to get work! mine expires on 4/12/12 right when my GC expires, however, I do remember that the lady at the DMV once asked that if my GC expired I had to bring a letter from USCIS or proof that I am not
here illegally, so hopefully that NOA1 will be enough prove (Cross my fingers). I am really hoping that they move fast! we sent lots of documents except a lease which we did not have, so I am a bit worried about that but we did have our neighbor
signed an affidavit stating that she sees us together all the time and she comes to our house every other weekend! so hope this is enough!
ps. We aren't traveling until I get my new green card, just to avoid the hassle!
