yes you can but you won't be able to apply for N400 based on 3 years of marriage because you are not married to the same US citizen. You will ahve to go with the 5 year rule. Good luck

You can get married to someone else however it depends if you have applied for removal together or separately. If you are in the process of removal I will wait until yor case is approved and in the meantime be separated. I believe some states require to spend certain months apart before divorcing. Also if you divorce and remarried right away before you have your 10 GC, it may raise a red flag for immigration... (Maybe) when applying for your removal.

I was wondering..I was surprised the uscis wants some RFE from me, I see I am not the only one.
so to the ones who got RFE, waht kind of papers they asked you, and what do you think was not enough for them?

it seems as for me, they want every single bank statements and bills. I Sent some, but not for every months. like 3 months.

did you, people, need to send every single statement, month bill?

I sent every single bill and bank statement from our last interview up until the date we sent our I-751 and got approved, not sure if that helped. I added 3 notarized affidavit

Hi proud b loud, I also did not have a lease or contract. Did you submit any bills in both of your names, copies of driver liscense, also we submitted transcripts rather than taxes. And we sent 3 notarized affidavits from 2 close friends and 1 from our neighbors. What about trips tickets?

Also what about 2010 taxes

I sometimes think uscis sends rfe to some, because they may need to meet a certain quota :/ or people who had alomost no evidence! I know a girl who applied and barely send any info and got approved! She send
One tax return, copies of one bank statement ( no transactions at all) and copy of drive licenses, ans one electric bill And got approved! So whatever it is! They need to get the ball rolling

Congratulations MLM.

While I was reading your news, our mail came, with an RFE.
Knew this was going to happen.
Since I don't have a job, I pay no taxes and no bills either.
Don't have a drivers license, so no proof of buying a car together and my husband lived in this house for ages, so I am not on that paperwork.

Have a huge knot in my stomach now :(

Oh no, but Dont worry, think positive, what did you originally send? Does you husband work and pay taxes he added u there? Wha about an identification instead of ID, or affidavits from people that know of your relationship?

omo, it seems thats the way it is with VSC. From the looks of it, it might be nine months because VSC is still working on Dec 2011 filers.

It been 9 months for me, but I guess they are taking at least 10 months. Last time I called USCIS, they told me they could take up to a year, that's why they give us an extension for one year. I cant wait to finish with all this process.
My goal: get citizenship and live happily ever after with my hubby :)

Oh by the way, I am still unable to see my case status online.

I don't really know how else you can get the date of your husband's naturalization. I've heard that some people who need an actual copy of their naturalization document will need to submit an official request to USCIS by filling out Form N-565 with a filing fee of $345. http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD

Maybe you can start a new standalone topic in the main ROC forum, as in outside this thread, and see if other VJ members have some ideas. It's good though that you started filling out N-400 this early and you have a few months to find whatever is missing before you send your application over.

I think we only need to file one form, the N-400. The VJ N-400 guide says that we may also attach G-1145 (optional) so we'll likely get an email or a text message from USCIS once they receive our application.

Here's the document checklist for N-400 http://www.uscis.gov...attachments.pdf

It's still a mystery how USCIS really works. Nobody in this thread has posted any update in the past few days. We don't know if other January CSC filers got approved already and just didn't post here or what. Anyway, I think Menina might have better advice. She and her husband had an infopass appointment when they heard nothing from USCIS 60 days after their interview. Theirs was a different case but who knows if you could do the same. Posted Image

VSC still hasn't started processing November 2011 applications as it seems.

Than you for all the great information :) I am thinking on calling them see if they can provide my hubby with the info, otherwise we will make an info pass.

I'm glad to know that I can move and then change my address I am staying locally same state. Just to clarify, we only need to file one form (N-400) correct? I'm already filling it out so just makIng sure, also what should I do if I don't know the dates for my husband naturalization. He became a citizen trough his parents 17 years ago therefore he was never issued a naturalization certificate. Maybe I can call uscis? :/

Thanks for taking a big shot @ the Bull's eye !

I will be applying for citizenship on January 2 2013, but I am worried because my lease expires on jan 23, should I move then apply or apply and then change my address, I am movIng locally. Will this be an issue? I remember reading something about living in the place for at least 3 months so I am a bit confused :/

I'm just curious. Who among you here are sending their N-400 before the year 2012 ends? Posted Image

By the way, I've checked other I-751 threads and below are a few notes in case some of you would like to know what's going on around here:

  • October 2011 Filers Vermont Service Center (26 applicants, 14 Approved 54%)
  • November 2011 Filers Vermont Service Center (34 applicants, 0 Approved 0 %)
  • February 2012 Filers California Service Center (28 applicants, 10 approved 36%)
  • March 2012 Filers California Service Center (25 applicants, 0 approved 0%)
So basically more than half of the VSC applicants in the October 2011 filers thread have been approved and none yet in the November filers thread. As for CSC, they've started approving February 2012 filers and nobody yet in March.

I hope USCIS keeps moving.

Thank you for the information, so I'm estimating VCS will be issuing GC for Jan filers end of September/ beginning October maybe :/

Hi Coco!

I was just looking on the August 2011 filers thread on this forum and it seems that a lot of people only got their cards in June 2012, so is taking about 10 months at Vermont right now

Yes it may well be 10 months :( but oh well, 2 months later we will be applying for citizenship yay! And end this whole process.

Hi,

Just wanted to say a BIG thank you to all the people who take the time to update these very useful threads with such great timeline info. It is so helpful and so appreciated, thanks!

I'm a December 2011 Vermont I751 filer and was looking on this site to try and get an idea of approximate processing times. It seems Vermont are taking about 8 months right now?

I think is around 9 months :( my friend applied September 29 and just got her card a week ago.

Congratulations to all California applicants! I wish Vermont was a fast... But we still got a couple of more months to go. Anyhow, I am traveling to Cancun Mexico on Tuesday, I hope they don't give me any issues returning into the US I do have a valid passport and Letter of extension and expired GC hopefully this suffice. Also anyone nows if we can apply for citizenship upon our 2yeaea 9 months of being a resident... I mean I have travel at least 2 months since being a resident, will this means that I can only apply at 2/11 months?
