Seems slow for a military expedite. Those things tend to zip through pretty fast.

In any case, congratulations!!!

I think he mentions in his signature that he's with the US Army

Anyways....CONGRATS!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAtten: a question for K-1 filers with German Fiancee's.
Don't worry...we put Munich on our petition, not knowing that only Frankfurt does K1 visas. The NVC sent the petition automatically to Frankfurt...

Good luck and a speedy approval!! good.gif

Refering to "Post Your Status & Progress Here" :

No progress, no touches!

Just like VSC managed to lose a June crate with petitions which have still not been processed as of today, they also lost a crate with several July petitions. Nice job.... good.gif

Seriously, I don't get it....

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsATTENTION JULY FILERS!
Yup, we are still waiting,too....

Vermont received our petition in late July. CSC seems to be very slow now and there's not much going on there, but therefor Vermont is busy approving SEP and OCT petitions right now, while there are still a handful of May, June and quite a few July petitions waiting. It's just driving me CRAZY....

I guess I could handle a general slowdown of my Service Center better than that feeling I have whenever I see a later petition approved.
No offence,September and October filers, but the feeling of being ignored is awful.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsJune and July Filers - NOA2 to NVC
FYI... When I called the NVC yesterday to check on the status of our package they gave me a number [(202)-663-1225] to call to track the Embassy arrival date of our package. Well, I tried to call this number when I got off from work and I got the postal section. I then called the NVC to ensure I had the number right, and I did in fact have the correct number. However, the hours of operation are not what I was told yesterday. The hours of operation are 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (EST) M-F.

Short and long of it:
Call (202)-663-1225 for Visa Application Arrival status at the Embassy
Be sure you call between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm (EST) Monday through Friday, (if not you'll reach "Carl" in the mail room, and he can't help you)

I hope this helps...

Does prior marriages and divorces hold this up? I would think they'd just do the name checks on each name, make sure the documents are in order and are done with it. If its an issue....Im in trouble.....

I'm not positive, but I believe they do check all names.

Yes they do check all names/aliases for the petitioner and beneficiary. What you are showing with the I-129f petition is that both you and your fiance are free to marry and that you have met in the last 2 years. So long as you can provide documentation supporting both of those assertions, and have a "clean" background, your petition will be approved. Depending on your circumstances, you may be subject to greater scrutiny at the consular level. Getting a petition approved is pretty easy, if time consuming. The actual visa can be more difficult if you are involved with someone from what is considered to be a "high fraud post" or have other red flags (see Bill y Bella's siggie for a link to common red flags). Just make sure you are well prepared with documentation showing you have a valid relationship and odds are you will be OK.

Ohh, we have red flags...LOL... He's younger, from high fraud post, I've had more than one marriage, one of which was a man who was here on J1, we married while he was here before he went back, but I never filed K1, nor had to sponser him. However, we've been together 4 years with 5 visits, letters from my family notorized, letter from my EX notorized (cause the two have talked while I was in hospital), I have chat logs, phone logs (lots of those), emails, my license plate showing "amrsgrl" his yahoo profile showing from 2004 he acknowledged our love and relationship. We have postal mailings. We have pics. I think the best thing for us is that in spite of the age difference and where he is from, the way he will present at interview will overcome any issues. He is a calm, soft spoken man. People take to him instantly. His tall build, great smile and sweet personaility make him a hit with any stranger I've noticed. With that, his solid answers and all our evidence..Im hoping to overcome these obstacles. They can't tell us we can't be together...or marry...they can only tell us where we will end up living. We also have a long term relationship estabilished and did not jump in quickly to marriage or k1 application. No short courtship here. His parents and my parents approve and are ready to testify if ever asked. We talk to each others parents regurlary on phone and with mail. So there is a great multitude of ways we stay in contact and have built a complete family relationship in all levels. I hope the CO at the embassy can see this. God willing it will all work out..and work out fast.

Thanks for the answer...

I have the same issues.....I am older then Oscar....I have been married before....I have 5 children......Oscar has never been married...has no children is from a high fraud area but like your SO Oscar is educated, well spoken and so confident that even a real idiot can see we are for real.....Our relationship is 2 years old and we have 6 visits and loads of emails and chats and phone calls....but I am afraid that because the woman being older is not the norm that they will treat us differently.....I have always been nervous and concerned about this.........but I hope.....164 days with no word yet....Lora

My fear isn't the initial phase here..but at the consular level. But we addressed our age diff in the petition...legally the consulate can't use that to deny if USCIS has approved the petition with that information. However, they can FIND other reasons. I have 3 GROWN kids..2 GRANDSONS. (dont look it eh??) There is an 18 year age gap with us (dont look it eh??) . FIVE kids??? God bless you...wow....FIVE...I thought THREE was bad...LOL. PM me sounds like we have alot in common....

well Oscar and I are 12 years difference....and my children are 26-10....4 boys and a girl....I married at age 17 and was married for 26 years.......I am afraid.....My family is good with it an my children love Oscar but the fact that someone who do not know us get to make that decision about what is real and what is not is very un-nerving to me....Lora

So, i was hearing these prices about Egypt airfares and I was thinking it sounded crazy. I work at a travel agency and I looked up some Egypt airfares for Dec 20-Jan14 and I came up with about $2200. Sometimes its better to check with an agency, so maybe you guys can end up in Egypt for the holidays!

Well $2200 is still WAYYYYYYYYYY to much for me. I have two more trips planned. One in January...and one to go bring him home. I just noticed on that day I searched, that airfare was one of them...that WAS expedia.com LOL And it may have been the days I chose. Who knows..yes..Agencies can save money, I've heard that....but I prefer to fly only Egypt Air for many reasons...(Larger seats for my larger butt to start) whistling.gif whistling.gif whistling.gif

Now you're brand loyal?? Amazing blink.gif

LOL Welllllllllllllllllllllllllll, I flew Air France and had HORRIBLE experiences with them...the airport is HORRIBLE. I hate all the transfers.....I fly Jet Blue from Washington DC to JFK...sit for hours..then fly again..sit for hours...fly again...bear in mind guys..Im a single WOMAN jet setting around the world....but more importantly...Egypt air is a DIRECT flight, no changes, no layovers and doesn't leave Cairo at 3:30 AM. But at a more reasonable hour of 10:30 AM. Bigger seats...great flights...friendly service...yeah...guess im a bit Brand happy on that one... whistling.gif whistling.gif

Call me fickle but for the difference of $8000.00 I could sit on a wheel hub to see my baby...hahahahahahaha

QUOTE (Abdur and Azmina @ Nov 13 2007, 10:33 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Alright peeps.. Been a long time since i have posted. Just lurking around in the midst and reading all your posts. First of all i would like to say congrats to all the recent approvals and wish the regular posters on this forum all the best and i hope you get your approvals soon.

Secondly, I decided to call VSC today just to talk to them even though i filed my I-129F on september 5th, and i got this really nice guy on the phone. I eased the questions on to him and got some valuable information.

He mentioned a few things we already know like - it would take anywhere between 3-6 months to approve applications and that they try there best to stick to that timeframe. But what surprised me the most is when he said that the most important check of all that is done is a "name check", regardless of what kind of name you have, whether its arabic, chinese, white, or etc. He also said that even though our cases lay dormant for a long time waiting to be looked at by an adjudicator, our cases are going through the "name check" process, so when it is actually looked at the process is easily done.

Now many of you may have already heard this before but it was definitely news to me being new to this process. I thought i should just post and let you all know..

I also mentioned to him (because i have a arabic name) will my process be longer than someone who's name is simple and he said it takes the same amount of time. Then i mentioned to him that i have been checked quite a few times by the FBI and other parties because i have worked atthe airport for quite a number of years and he stated "someone who has been through thorough checks like that previously, their cases will be adjudicated faster than someone who has never been checked" (Those were his words, take it with a grain of salt if you want)

Well i know im in for a long ride as it has only been 2 months but i cant wait till byron, mirla, amrssnowangel, and the rest of the regulars are accepted so they can move to us "newbies" smile.gif ...

catch you lot later..

ab

Ab thanks for the post...It is nice to see someone is nice and a little helpful......I have called many times and had many rude (not to be sexist) woman the one man I talked to with a real pleasant southern accent was so kind but had the same old info......I am waiting with all the rest of you....and hoping with all the rest of you......but newbies or oldies here....we are all together....and I love the support.....Lora

Im really starting to fade with the optimism.....tonight i feel depressed because this whole thing is out of my hands and i cant do a damn thing about it....Tonight is one of those nights that it is killing me really bad...I would give anything to hear Leidy's voice or her son running around...instead all i here is this silence that seems soooo loud and torturing!!! I'm losing hope! I actually had a long time that i was patient and was taking well as each day passed but after spending the 5 days with Leidy in Panama, this is becoming something too difficult to deal with....But like i said .....i cant do anything about it.. sad.gif

I understand and last night was my night to cry......everyday that goes by I feel more and more frustrated and helpless.....I just got back from Peru last month and I was for sure that he would be coming to me before Christmas......but now I know that that is not going to happen.....so I hope for the new year.....and remember his eyes looking into mine and believe that we can over come this too.......I too am sitting here alone in my house watching TV and trying to keep myself positive......I have many hard times in my life but I am thinking this is the hardest........with the greatest reward....Hang on....Lora

It says those who filed after june 1 will have a longer wait. I wonder if they mean longer than we have already waited or if they are just getting around to letting us know there processing times have slowed down? wacko.gif

an odd VSC approval has just appeared at the top of the list - Camilo and Margaret, Argentina, down as having received their NOA1 on September 24, and their NOA2 on November 31 blink.gif
now, that last is clearly a typo, but I wonder what the real date was? and if they're truly late September filers than that's another one completely out of the blue at VSC wacko.gif

Of the last 10 VJ VSC K1 approvals, 3 were petitions filed in the second half of September. 2 of the 3 said they were not in the military. The third is has never made any VJ posts so we don't know if they had a military expedite. None of the 3 is from Cuba.

What the heck is going on in VSC?! Did they forget their first come, first served policy? Am I the only one starting to get annoyed by this?

Annoyed? Heck yeah Bill! And somewhat bitter too. Here we are at months and months of waiting and these people are getting approved at around one month. As I have said before, so much for processing petitons in the order received. While I am glad to see approvals, I really believe that those of us who have been waiting so long should take priority!

I am with you Jason....Our appliation went in June 5....then nothing.....I callled the lawyer we used and got this answer......

Hello Lora,

We expected your case to be approved already, but ever since the USCIS changed so many of their procedures around, it is hard to tell.? As far as we can tell, nothing is wrong with your case, they have not requested any further information – so that is a good sign.? Right now it’s just a matter of waiting for it to be approved.? I have contacted USCIS numerous times and they always say that they are processing from April – but we have gotten approvals for petitions filed after that.? We will let you know as SOON as we hear news.

and that is all folks.....No one even the lawyers unerstand what is going on in VSC land.........Lora

Its not the application fees that is painful. It is the unreasonable amount of time required for waiting. I am not convinced that extending the waiting time by several months allows them to increase the level of security. It is not like that the spend several months investigating a person's background. The amount of time spent on each application is probably measured in hours, not weeks or months. And I also wonder why H1(work visas) do not have to wait for 6-9 months? Are they considered to be more peace loving, non-harmful people?

I agree with you.....It really makes little sense to me also.....I am thinking because of the internet and peoples travel habits that we are the coming tidal wave of application that USCIS is going to get....and they need to figure this out or they will have many many upset citizens......but in this country money talks...not love....and business needs there workers you know.......I am hoping this will be better for those who follow us......Lora as always good luck to us all
