We have an eleven hour time difference. It just makes thing a bit more difficult than they need to be. The worst is when we wake the other up. I have mixed emotions because I am happy to hear from her, but man do I hate being woke up. We made an agreement that I would come for either her interview or to accompany her here - she chose for me to accompany her, so my next trip will be to go spend some time with her family in her province then bring her back here. But I will only have about 9 or 10 days for the trip including pretty much 3 days of flying.... You will likely need to have police certifications, medical, all your evidence include a full copy of what you submitted with the I-129F, DS-156, DS-156K, and DS-157. Also check out the guides again. He should be in the United States before October 6 if you are saying the interview is in September, but if the embassy needs to do some more processing, they will extend the visa time frame. The date on the NOA2 is for the interview. Once approved you get 6 months to move. Once you set foot on american soil you get 90 days to marry. Once married I think you 90 days to Adjust status. But if you get married after the first week you still have to adjust status in 90 days. So married at the 90 day mark and AOS with in 90 days is 180 days but if married after 1 week then AOS with in 90 days is 90 day 1 week. make sense? Not really... Yeah, I hate countries that require "exit permit". Kind of like parole from prison or something. As an American it is a reminder that our country still maintains basic freedoms for many things that are not available to others. Amen!!!it sucks....cus in order to get that permit...they have to make sure he gives all his personal properties to the government including his home....if he doesnt he cant get out Wow! Yeah, I hate countries that require "exit permit". Kind of like parole from prison or something. The NOA2 has is valid for scheduling an interview to get the visa. If needed, the consulate can and will (usually automatically) extend this if you have an interview date scheduled that is after it. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	February 09 - VSC	Ok, I went to the whitehouse.gov site where President Obama posted his "immigration principles" and decided to express myself. I sent something via the contact us button. I do NOT expect anything except an automated response (if that). Here is what I wrote: "I am contacting you to express my frustration with the USCIS and my support of the guiding principles stated by President Obama. I am a US citizen currently suffering (yes, that is an appropriate term) through the process of applying for a fiancee (K1) visa. We are now 4 months into the process with no action, and no information available from the USCIS. I will spare the details as there are frankly thousands or 10's of thousands that in myriad situations for which there is no information, let alone recourse. I know that the pricnciple of enabling families to stay together is important to this administration, but the USCIS as an agency and a bureaucracy has and is utterly failing this. This is frankly not due to political issues, but due to a failure as an organization. There are many who would provide comment on how the existing process has failed them (including myself). I would urge the President to take action to correct this as soon as possible. Some basic first steps to consider: - Provide an ability to get the current, detailed status of a pending application (case) - Provide an updated , accurate estimate of processing time (or in lieu of this, an count of cases "ahead in the queue" on a weekly basis, or average time-frame of cases being adjudicated - NOT oldest cases being adjudicated) - Provide an ability to correct any issue identified by the filer while the case is in the queue (sitting in a box waiting) - Provide the ability to escalate an issue with fair adjudication to address exceptional extreme situations (ex. a child being deported even though both parents are legal residents and/or citizens). - Provide a guarantee for a level of service - if an application is not adjudicated by the expressly targeted time frame, refund the application fee (currently $455 just for this step of the visa process). Please note, that I do not believe that *ANY* of the items I have suggested could not be implemented almost immediately, or require significant cost. Please consider some or all of these. Simply implementing these would not only help those of us waiting to be reunited with your loved ones, but also lighten the burden of other government agencies and offices as many who apply ultimately turn to our Congressmen or Senator for help, or to the NVC to try to get information on our cases - inquiries that should not be necessary, let alone inquiries that we need to resort to other government offices to handle.
