There are about 45000 applications that came in for the 2010 season. The cap is 65000. I would assume that there are reps that take care of certain types of visas. Otherwise I think all the other types will have a lag in processing. Only time will tell, and right now time is the enemy! I do not disagree with anything you, or Dave and Jenny or D n M has said. I know I will get flamed for this, and do not misunderstand I am as anxious as anyone else here to have the incredibly slow process move forward. I just think we have put too much faith into Igor’s list, which is only an estimate, and because of the fluctuations, such as the HB-1, constantly changes. I do not even look at it any longer. I am not sticking up for the sluggish work at the VSC, I think it is pathetic, but their date for our process is 6 months, which sadly at this time almost seems more accurate than Igor’s list….please I want to be proven wrong so much, I want Igor’s list to be the more accurate of the two. Sadly I do not think that is the case. Greg Well, I do not worry much about Igor's list or the "timeline". I was commenting on the approvals as reported here. If you chart the last 2000 K1 approvals reported here (that is back to like Oct 2007), you will see the seasonal drop off in April/May/June. This year looks like May will be a record low *as reported by folks here*. I hope it is short lived. I am seriously thinking about mailing a number of letters asking questions like: 1) Why is there not transparency to all actions taken on an application. Why is it not possible to know when an FBI check has been initiated and when it is completed. Why do we not know the number of applications waiting, and the number waiting in the week/month we are filed. Why does the "processing times" website not reflect actual processing times (it says that 3 months ago, they were processing applications in "less than 6 months", and this is updated monthly, but only to reflect a state 90 days old!) 2) Why do H1B petitions only take 2 months, but fiance petitions and spouse petitions take more than 6 months. Is it more important that someone come to the USA to "take an Americans job" and that they should not wait to do so? 3) Is there something else going on at VSC/CSC now? Why have petitions absolutely halted on May 1. Sorry, just really, really annoyed with the USCIS. I find it SOOO ironic that this is a "benefit of citizenship", but we get the "honor and right" to pay $455 for to have our paperwork spend 6 months in a box. It was mailed on 1/22 with a NOA1 date of 2/4/2009!! could this be the start for us?!? I think the "estimated date" is based upon a moving average of how long the last "X" applications have actually taken. I think the "X" is something like the last month or 3 months or something like that. If you look at the last 15 applications, you will see that some of the most recent approvals are pretty old with one that is from last *May* for example. So this means that while many applications recently approved only took about 100 days, some took 300+. So the average is more like 130-150 days and thus the "expected date" is skewed later. I think you are going to the original "Igor's List" site (hosted at berkely.edu). This site breaks it into two batches - those within "USCIS processing times" and those that have are older than that. Basically those less than 6 months old and a second list of older ones. If you go to teh "Timelines" section from the Home page of the VJ site there is a link to a easier to use "Igor's list". This is a fairly recent addition (maybe 6 weeks old at most). This is the number that I have in my signature, and also Liz and Patrick. FYI, we are the same filing date (2/23) and NOA1 date (2/26). K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	December '08 Vermont K-1 Filers	Hello Everyone. Here is an update. My fiance arrived Aug. 27 POE Washington dulles Airport. It was an awesome moment, i ran up to him so fast i almost knocked his down The process at the airport went really smooth they only asked him when is our wedding date and the officer joked and asked if he was invited. That same evening we went out with my family and his brother to old country buffet. I didn't waste no time introducing him to American food, he didn't eat much though but we had a good time. Everything else is going on really good, we've applied for his SSN and our wedding date is set for Oct. 4th. So time is moving pretty fast now. I'll post some pictures after the wedding. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	December '08 Vermont K-1 Filers	INTERVIEW WENT GREAT !!! VISA APPROVED......... Woo hooo, Thank you Jesus. Wow, i can't believe it's finally here. Hey everyone my fiance's visa was approved at Freetown embassy. He said everything went so smooth it didn't even feel like an interview him and the consular officer were just having a normal conversation. He didn't even ask alot of specific questions. All he asked my fiance was how did we meet ? What did we do when i visited ? where was this or that picture taken at? How many kids we wanted to have ? They both laughed about that and my fiance mentioned that we have a debate right now cuz i want my first to be a girl and he wants a boy. So the officer laughed with him. Then he asked to see the rest of our pictures, and only looked at 4 out of like 20 pictures. One of the pictures i took was with my fiance's sister and the officer recognized that. The officer didn't even take the rest of our phone calls and emails my fiance took to the interview. He took my affidavit of support and the rest of my financial info. I just want to thank everyone here that's been going through this journey with me. You all have been very supportive. Thank you so much. I wish you the best in the rest of your visa journey. After plenty tries of calling the freetown embassy, and being transfered to answering services, none working numbers and people that just take a message and say i'll be contacted. By the grace of God i was finally able to talk to the right people and it literally took only 10 minutes for him to look up the schedule on the computer, take my case number and boom i was assigned and interview date Monday 6/29. It's getting insane. I've even picked up a second job, just to make the time go by faster. I still haven't got my interview date, we are still waiting on the embassy to reply to our many, many, emails. I dont want to push them too hard and get on their bad side My lawyer has emailed them, i've emailed them and my fiance has emailed them and still no reponse. When my fiance called them they told us to send an email to schedule for the interview, but still no interview date. Aaahhh, i can't wait for all this to be over with. I pray it gets to my fiance on tuesday or wednesday so he can call the embassy and make an appointment for the interview. To all those that are still waiting for approvals i know how crucially painful this wait can be, especially seeing everyone else around your timeline getting their approvals. Stay strong we are all fighters and we've have been going strong since the beginning. The end will soon arrive, i feel lots approvals coming in the weeks to come, this month is THE month. (someone told me it wont be if i had 3 yrs of tax returns but i only have one year) thanks guys From what i've experienced NVC usually receives your petition a week or 2 after you get your NOA2. They will send you a letter in the mail once they receive it. Sorry you can't check your status online like uscis they do have a number NVC # (603) 334-0700 you can call and ask about your case and find out if they have it. The question about what city they will send your case, i wouldn't worry about that because they already know that islamabad handles the interview so that's were they will send your case. Now the question about not having 3 years worth of tax return i'm not too sure what the answer to that is, but try to ask some people that will be going through the same consulate as you they might be able to help.
