We did not get any touches since October 16th 2008.
Oh man, it's actually happening, I'll have to give in my notice at work etc. and really move 4000 miles to be with my guy! I hope there's more good news on the way for everyone, it's such a frustrating situation to be in.

Hang in there. Look at it this way. You know they have your file and are looking at it...you should have word soon. I have visions of my box being in a dark corner girlwerewolf2xn.gif collecting cob webs. I have noticed the 6 months thread here on VJ but have not even gone there in fear that I may inflict a curse diablo.gif on myself. Being consumed with waiting is the weirdest feeling. I look at all the filers from months past and wonder why?... unsure.gif will that be me? We are all having doubts and are hoping for the best. Soon!

That's exciting! We had a couple touches last week but no change in status. When you login, the date updated tells you when it was last handled. If you click on the EAC# it will say "Case received and pending" like it has surely said for 4 months if there is no change. If there is a change it will say something different like "Approved" or something. Surf through here and you can see what the exact message says from other posts. Suerte! good.gif

Got a couple questions for ya:

First, www.voipdiscount.com does not have Guatemala as one of the free countries, but it is only USD $0.10 per minute which is cheaper than I have found using www.jajah.com (which is thus far the cheapest I have found). But how do you use it from your cell to her's? If I can use it from my cell or house phone it is definitely worth the switch. With the exchange rate, it costs about USD $0.07 for him to call me, so sometimes I send him the money I would use to buy credit so it goes a little further. But every little bit counts and since I still end up calling him I would love to know how this works.

Second, what do you have up your sleeve???

Welcome back and sorry to hear about your job! From what I have read here on VJ it seems like as long as you can get a letter from the boss stating how much you make currently (at the time that you fill out the affidavit of support) then you will be fine. Best wishes in your job search!

It's probably that the person who looked at your case doesn't work at weekends.

Does anyone know when the FBI check is done? Is it when they first receive our case or could it be what these touches are? Apparently they send off a bunch to be done and they are turned round in about 48 hours.

This is so exciting i just called up NVC and they said they received our case Feb 19 and sent the case to manila feb 20. This is going faster than i expected. Thanks for that RBAL_TN, I guess my next question is - how do they decide which one to do next? I guess maybe each adjucator gets a box and the petitions are spread out among the boxes, etc. I don't really get it. Oh well.

I hope it's not an RFE either and if it is I can't turn around and send it as soon as I wanted because the mail still hasn't arrived from my fiance with his signed letter of intent. Today is 3 weeks - I hope it isn't lost because if so it will delay it even more crying.gif

Congratulations to all those that have had their NOA2, Vermont certainly seems to be moving pretty quick over the last few weeks!! Anyway, my NOA 1 is the 1st of October not had any touches etc ... should I be worried??? M x


I wouldn't worry - they kind of skip around quite a bit, something none of us can really figure out. Guys, an idea - do you think they get to the month (or roundabouts) and then go in alphabetical order? My fiance and me both have last names that start with C...


Not sure. Mine begins with G and Tom's is B. It probably whatever order they threw the files in lol.


Most likely, but maybe they go by petitioner last name? Or maybe like you said...totally random lol. Wouldn't surprise me one bit. I wish I knew what system they had because it just seems like they could save themselves a lot of trouble by being consistent. Either way, hope something changes! Do you think they have just touched it and set it aside now? Who knows, we might not hear anything til a couple weeks from now crying.gif

Well I hope it's not too mega early because if it supposedly takes 15 minutes to adjucate it, just go ahead and approve it and get on with the rest of October!!!!

No, I just logged on and the "Last Updated" date changed...then I clicked on the actual case number but nothing has changed there, it still says "Case received and pending." I asked that question one time and they said you do not get an email for soft touches, as I didn't. You might want to check, although it still isn't approved! star_smile.gif

Yea, not sure what's up with that - no approvals yet. Maybe a bunch of us will be getting RFEs, but hopefully not! Or maybe they are just working late today. As someone else said and I have read on other topics here on VJ that they can sometimes work from home and pick their own schedules within reason, so maybe some are working til 6 or 7 EST today!?!?!

There's also now 9 approved from 2/17 anyone know who added?
