K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	May 2009 filers -- post here!!!	I am glad that many are doing good for the May Filers of 2009. I am getting ready to go to China next week for 3 weeks, see My Xixi, get married, and start with the 130 process. The May to Dec K1 was a long wait, and denial, but we just have to endure. It took me a while to figure what the miscomunication was with the December Interview. The Visa Officer ask about my prior job from 1966 to 1994, which my Xixi answered, "Sales". I was a surpervisor/diemaker, for a company that made "Sales" posters/materials. I had shown my Xixi examples of posters, typical of what the company made, when we out shopping, so she was well aware of what I did for a living. The only thing so far, interview wise, was my Fiancee did not remember my Job Title, on my job prior to my retirement in 1994. She said, Sales, but that is what I do now. I bet the Visa Officer does not know what a diemaker is also. 20 months of preparation gone in a couple of minutes. This means have do another trip, file 1-130, and wait another year. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Normal Processing Time - 63days or 6 months?	how can these two average time be so far from each other? I understand that there are exceptions, but it's average afterall, no? 6 months is USCIS's "goal" time for processing a petition. I would not equate that to an "average". 6 months is the time they time they expect you to wait before they'll consider doing extra investigation into your case to see what's taking a while. Processing times seem to vary a lot, so if they were constantly updating the "average" time they'd have people calling them all the time to check their case status. So the "average" you see on this site really has no bearing on how USCIS sees the situation. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Interview Day In Islamabad in 4 1/2 hours!!	Oh my gosh VJ family the DAY is upon me and my Akhlaq!! My fiancé’s interview is 4 1/2 hours away and I’m soooooooo nervous . I’m worried out of my mind but we have done everything to make sure ALL paperwork and “proof of ongoing relationship” is present and in neat order. Still I can’t help because it’s Pakistan , worried that they will think some nonsense of our 12 year age difference (I’m 39 and he’s 27). I mean they can just look at us in pic and see there’s really no big deal and hopefully they will see he is the one that seems “old..ugh mature I mean” for his age. I hope they just see two people who just fell in love . Wish I could be there beside him as they would see I don’t look or seem my age at all (thank God for Olay and my youthful exuberance!! .... LOL). I’ve read many forums here on age but lord it feels different when it’s your interview on the table. I’m worried also that he should do interview in English but will say something wrong in confused wording because he’s nervous today but what if he chooses his native tongue of Urdu and he gets some horrible CO to interview him or they will think it’s bad he doesn’t want to do in English?? Ughhhhh!! Why am I worrying like this when I swore I wouldn’t??? PLEASE SAY PRAYERS because I just want this part OVER. Yes, yes I know AP is the next evil thing to get thru but as long as I knew ‘APPROVED’ was the magic word then I could get thru AP (still praying for that not to be too long). I’m missing my love a lot especially now sitting here snowed in with like 20" of the white stuff just waiting. It will be a White Christmas with an approval. Me & Akhlaq are soooooo happy to have passed this part and are going to try to be strong getting thru AP . So sorry I am late posting because right after he left interview he got so sick, everything just hit him!!!! Don't know if just going thru the stress was what did it but he has a fever and chills and stomach and body just hurting. I was too emotional after he called me last night to be calm enough to come back online to post outcome. WE ARE APPROVED FOR VISA!!!! I am more calm now or shall I say have more of a grip on my emotions. Lord i'm just worrying now that I'm not there to take care of him and help him feel better. life is a crazy roller coaster of emotions sometimes; if it wasn't for VJ and everyone here I would lose it. Me and Akhlaq are so shocked that after worrying everyday TODAY they called for him to pick up his passport.......AND THEY SPELLED HIS NAME RIGHT!!! My heart is overjoyed that soon we will be together to start our lives. I had disappeared from VJ after Christmas because my dear grandmother who raised me ( I always called her "mama" because she did this) passed away on Dec 30 and I was really upset. I was sad because this wonderful woman who raised me will never get to meet my sweet husband to be. I'm glad that she isnt hurting anymore though & I bet "mama" can see all this GREAT news happening down here. THANKS to everyone on VJ for their prayers and wishes. I will continue to keep you guys in my prayers so that whoever hasnt gotten an interview, approval or is just sad from being apart from their loved one will find comfort and a quick smooth visa journey coming their way!!!! One year ago to the day I landed in my fiance's country (March 10) and NOW I will be picking him up at the airport in a few hours just after midnight!! OMG OMG OMG I know at this moment he is standing in the immigration line and I pray everything goes ok. I was so nervous because for some reason they had his route Lahore--Dubai--London--Dallas/Fort Worth (his POE? ???????) then to Dulles in Washington DC Please lord let everything go smooth at point of entry. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	patiently waiting...	Commiserating with all of you ... we filed in early November and are still waiting for either RFE or NOA2 (Vermont). Based on the timelines, however, seems like we are not alone. I'm confident everything will happen in a somewhat timely manner, but my fiancee is pushing to make wedding plans, etc. I did suggest early on that we at least wait for NOA2 before nailing down plans, but admittedly I also got caught up in the romance and figured our fine government would work in our favor and have everything ready by the fall. Meanwhile I applied for a passport renewal using expedited processing ... Nat'l Passport Center in Philly received it on Feb. 14 and sent my new passport back on Feb. 16. Absolutely stunned by the speed - I wish the K-1 process were this efficient! Best of luck to everyone! Hey Chris, If you don't mind me asking when did you send off for your passport? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	In the meantime... issues while in the waiting process	Is this something that is definitely necessary with the K-1? My lawyer says that it isn't. The safest thing to do is to submit everything (and make sure its translated!) Yes, it can be painful but having everything makes the process run smoothly. BTW, take lots of pics in different locations together! As for the lawyer, you may want to check on what other info they're giving you also to make sure that you have the right lawyer. Now I understand that one of the major sources of frustrations for "customers" is the lack of transparency. Decisions seem to me made within a black box with no requirement on the agency's part for a reasonable or timely explanation if processes slow down or go off track. If I ever go back to work for the USG, this experience will definitely change for the better how I interact with the public. I think most people are reasonable and if you give them a reasonable explanation, they will be patient - as I would be in this situation if the agency were to simply explain what is going on. And this explination " In July and August of 2007, nearly 2.5 million applications and petitions of all types were received. This compares to 1.2 million applications and petitions received in the same time period last year. " is BS to me okay this was in 2007! HELLO its 2009 there has been plenty of time to deal with this problem you would think after almost 2 years you would have a staff large enough to deal with the influx but NOOOOOOOOOOOOO its gotten worse!!!!!!!!! So i got my NOA2 my girl just got done doing 2 days of the medical at St Lukes and everything went well. I have the interview set for april2nd. Now where i am confused is with this packet 3 and packet 4 ?? Now i got my fiance all the required W2's and bank stuff and all the other forms as well as the 3 forms she needs to fill out i think it was something like 156 156k and 157 forms. Yesterday I had a really bad day checking every 5 minutes and getting down, so he is putting restrictions on me lol. This is something I wanted to do anyway but he's just helping me control my addiction haha. What is the best time to check for updates anyway?
