I disagree Laura,

I believe a majority of the 20 or so people remaining from each month (March 08 onward) have either

1. received NOA2 or RFE but not updated their timelines
2. have dropped out of the process but not updated their timelines

And that makes sense that a good 15% of the people would neglect to update their timelines. That's not to say none of those listed are actually still waiting, as there are a few who are, but just a few and I believe their delay is due to extenuating circumstances.

I've noticed that too. A lot of the profiles you click on from March, April, etc. haven't been seen for months. Most likely they've already received some kind of contact....at least we hope so! I'm trying to have a positive day today! yes.gif Yes yes.gif Yes yes.gif they will approve October soon!!!! biggrin.gif

Unfortunately it happns for some people. There are still some poor June, July and August filers who still have not seen signs of their NOA2's, not even a touch since their NOA1 dates.

I was JUST talking to my fiance about that. I was saying that August is about 70% done and September almost 50% so they should be starting in October soon...but what about the people in August who are still waiting? This could happen to us, almost done with Oct. and Nov. and move on to December and we haven't heard anything yet crying.gif I mean, I hope not, but you never can tell. And the fact that we're at the end of the month - although they approve apps from Sept 15 and Aug 15 on the same day, so there really is no rhyme or reason wacko.gif

There could be an October filer approved by expedite. There have also been recently people who claim they were approved in less than 100 days. Without some compelling evidence, I am not apt to believe them: Like anywhere, there are dishonest folk here too.

As of now, no regular October 2008 VSC filers have received NOA2.

But very soon...I feel it in my bones! kicking.gif Or maybe it's just the cold weather mixed with being loca from waiting wacko.gif

that makes me smile!! where did you get this number from??

I am sure we are all waiting anxiously, I haven't seen my love in over a year now! it's difficult but so worth it! biggrin.gif

It's fast approaching six months since my fiancee and myself have been together. It'll be at least 11 months by the time we're together again. We shall have spent over half of our relationship, five years total, apart from each other. Long-distance relationships certainly have their own merits and challenges, which we've come to know. My father jokes "Waiting is the easy part. Wait until you're together, then the real challenges shall begin."

Well that may be true but I'm ready for some new challenges! It seems like everytime we get into any kind of argument it's because we're trying to contemplate our life together and we say "What would you do if...." which leads to some disagreement which really doesn't help because we're not together to see what we would really do in that case anyway! It's really frustrating too because when one does get down about being apart, the other is not there to hold them, reassure them by showing their love, and that's the hard part! Either way, hoping for some movement in the next month! I'm checking this forum a couple times a day to see if any of our Oct friends have gotten their NOA2. Hopefully soon!

We were hoping for arrival by mid-July for a wedding soon after. We'll see when these NOA2's start coming in if that's still possible.

One enormous factor is that the speed of the adjudicator could vary quite widely. Some could go through a single box in half the time as others. So we both pick up October boxes, but you are a week behind me in picking it up and you are going to still be working while I've moved on to the next box. Government contract jobs. Someone please search for the want ad for USCIS offfice in Vermont. I was tempted to apply there after my fiancee gets here and give three years of service to ensuring higher quality work. I would be willing to do that to help other families.

All the best.

Not a bad idea! I know since I'm not in there I don't understand, but jeez! I sure wish they could move their tushes a little faster! Looking on the bright side, if they continue at the rate they've been going the past week we'll be looking at March for sure, IMO. kicking.gif

Well I think that some of us will most likely be approved in Feb. since almost 50% of Sept. filers are approved....so....October filers, come on down!!!!!!! kicking.gif good.gif rofl.gif

I agree. None of the approvals have come in strict sequential order. Instead they have been in batches that seem to span a 2-3 week time period. Its all going to come down to where each of our files were placed and which box gets grabbed.

I think the chances are good that we'll see a good portion of Oct filers approved in Feb.

That would be great! Of course I don't understand that whole system. I understand that there are a lot that go in, out, processed, need RFEs, etc., but why can't they just start from point A in order by date received? I just imagine a huge file cabinet that opens from both ends - the one end is the one they are working on now and the other end is where they put the incoming petitions.

I just don't understand how the dates can range so much. Now granted, this would not allow for any surprises but those are just flukes anyway. IMHO I think it would be easier if we had a set date to look forward to. Either way, that's not how they do it, and even if one day they come to their senses HOPEFULLY we will be way past done with them and this whole process. That will be a relief. Let's all keep our finger's crossed that they'll start with October in the next week or two! It'd be good if I could get an approval email around the same time I get my tax refund - days of bliss tongue.gif

It sure would be nice to get some movement soon. I've been looking at some of the approved petitions, and it looks like there's an average of 157 days from NOA1 to NOA2. Now depending on whether or not you are at the beginning or the end of October, this puts you somewhere in March. A little early would be nice! Either way, I'm hoping they keep up with whatever they're doing up there - finally approving 6-8 K1s per day, and I guess this doesn't include any who have received an RFE.

Some October approvals would be more than welcome anytime soon!

Very true, I mean it is nice for those that get unexpected early surprises but I think it would be better for us overall if they just went in order from date received...I don't understand how hard it is to do things in order. Nor do I understand why it takes 6 months to process something that takes 15 minutes to actually do. And they can't even find time to update the website every month. wacko.gif

I'm an October filer and I am dying! I never imagined that this whole long-distance thing would be so hard. It's especially hard seeing that CSC is now in November grrrr! What is going on with VSC?

What do you all do to make it through this waiting time? My fiance and I talk on the phone, send text messages, and chat online, but he does not have a computer so can only go to the Internet Cafe when he has the money and the phone calls get expensive too! Plus there's just nothing like being next to the person you love - a whole lot different from seeing them online or just hearing their voice!

A little over 2 months til I get to go back, but the stupid plane ticket price keeps going up and I haven't gotten the OK from my boss yet for the extra days off so I can't buy the ticket yet!

I'm just frustrated all around and ready for this process to be over! I didn't find this forum until a couple weeks ago, so I'm also kinda nervous that something in my package will not be approved and we'll have a RFE and have to extend this darn thing even more! Why does it have to be so hard to come to the US?

Suggestions welcome - anything to give me peace of mind!!!

(Assuming the story is true), here in the US they put a hold on your passport if you have unpaid child support. So, it's not totally out of the question...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAt last, we've finished the K1 Visa Journey!
QUOTE (busterbrown @ Mar 20 2009, 08:04 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
This is Nathaya’s minute by minute recap of her US Embassy K1 Visa interview in Bangkok, Thailand on 3/19/2009. Her interview was approximately 5 minutes in length. She waited approximately 1 hour before her name was called. Three other Thai women were interviewed before her, each one leaving with their passports (not a good sign). After her name was called, she approached window number 5 and the following illustrates her interview:

The Embassy Interviewer (E.I.) gave instructions to Nathaya to scan each of her hands/fingers on the electronic scanner for identity authentication.
The E.I. then gave Nathaya a compliment about her hands after she finished with her digital fingerprints. (She had just freshly manicured and painted her finger nails)!
What is your name?” the E.I. asked.
“Nathaya,” she replied.“
"Is your Fiancé’s name, Christopher?” the E.I. asked.
Yes”, she answered.
"What do you call him?"
I call him, honey”.
Ok, I’ll call him Chris,” the E.I. stated as they both chuckle.
When was his first trip to Thailand?” he asked.
His first trip was in May of last year”, she responded.
How many times has he come to Thailand?
3 times so far”, Nathaya replies.
The E.I. then opens up a small photo album that Nathaya prepared. It contained pictures of recent trips and photo moments of places we visited together.
Was this picture taken at the tiger temple in Kanchanaburi Province?” the E.I. asked as he pointed to a photo of us at the Tiger Zoo in Chonburi Province.
No, it was taken at Sriracha Tiger Zoo in Chonburi.
Was this photo taken in Phuket?” he asked as he pointed to another photo of us in at a viewpoint near Kata Beach.
Yes, in Phuket” she replied.
Where did you take this photo?” his 3rd and final question of the picture album.
It was taken in Cambodia at Angkor Wat.” Nathaya answered.
Have you traveled to the states before?” the E.I. asked.
Yes, to visit my friend,” she replied. (Nathaya did in fact visit her friend for a short time on a tourist visa last November before visiting me).
His response as he smiled was: “Why don’t you just say that you visited your fiancé too?!
Her response then was, “I visited my friend before I spent the Thanksgiving holiday with my fiancé’s family.
When will you get married in the states?” the E.I. then asked.
Soon after I arrive, probably in the first two weeks.
Well, congratulations!” he said!”
Who is [ex-husband name]?” he asked as he looked over her application.
My ex-husband,” she answered.
Where does he live now?
Up country in Lopburi province.
Have you ever stayed with your ex-husband where he lives now?” the E.I. asked.
Never,” she expressed. Nathaya then offered up (on her own) that her husband was unfaithful, the reason for the divorce and the reason she never left Bangkok.
The E.I. then directs her to come back to the Embassy on Monday to pick up her Passport (with visa) at 3pm.
He finally says to her, “You can pick up your paper work over at the other counter on your way out. Have a good day; Sawadee Krup!” (goodbye in Thai)
Nathaya replies with “Sawadee Ka!”, picks up her packet of evidence and paper work and proceeds out the embassy doors.

It was that easy. Just as easy (if not easier) then getting her US Tourist Visa. I hope everyone has the same luck and patience we’ve have. Three pieces of advice I can give to this entire process is: 1. Make sure you dot all the “I’s” and cross all the “T’s”. 2. Collect your evidence of relationship wisely. And 3. use this website and forum as a resource and tool to help you through the process. It will lower your stress levels and prepare you for your next milestone. Good luck everyone. We now need to get started on our AOS (I-485) packet. wink.gif

Help please, is this a good idea or bad one?

Only give them what they ask for,,,"information on correspondence". How ever the 2 of you communicate, show that you communicated very much, and that both of you have the "ability" to talk to each other. Logs of emails, logs of phone records, etc. My girl and I talk with Yahoo Messenger, using headsets/mics, webcams, and typing at the same time. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHELP! Contacting embassy after interview

I recently attended my interview in Dublin, Ireland and all went well but i needed to mail them a stamped addressed envelope as the one i brought ended up being too small

I mailed it back but forgot to write down my case number and i am half afraid that because of this there might be a problem.

There is a phone number which i called but it is just an info service, i was unable to talk to anyone.
The email address i was given failed to deliver my email and now i have no idea of how to get in contact.
Should i just write a letter?
Or should i wait and hope that they did receive my envelope and my visa is on it's way?

I booked a flight for March 11 and even though that's a month away i am still a little concerned i might not get my visa in time.

Why not just send another Stamped addressed envelope with the case number.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMay 2009 VSC K-1 Fillers

hi everybody,
i'm new to this forum but not to visajourney.com, it's been very helpful for my fiancé and i throughout this whole process.

i'm posting because we're both quite frustrated with the visa process. as you can see from my signature (hopefully, if i formatted it properly!) we're still waiting to hear back from the embassy regarding an interview date. danny has called them several times (since i'm not in the UK, i can't) and he keeps getting a different answer each time. his medical exam is scheduled for january 15th. when he has called to ask about the interview date, one time he was told he will have to wait an additional 9 months from the time of his medical exam. another time he was told that it's an additional 3 month wait from the time of his medical exam. we're both getting frustrated because obviously we want to be together and we'd like to at least make some wedding plans, but with all this uncertainty we can't even choose a wedding date. reading through this thread, it looks like many of the may 2009 filers are already married, or if not, their fiancé(e) is already in the US. why is it taking so long for us?

sorry to be whiny, i'm just a bit exasperated. thanks for your help.
jennifer

I understand what you mean. Life is short, and difficult, and the Visa people do not make it any easier. The Visa process has so much BS. Good Luck............

Hey Bob- that sucks...

I can only mention 2 things:

1. communication between PRC person and USC person must be 'easy' - ie - must be able to prove up to the ConOff that you two can communicate, easily. This has been an issue all year at GUZ - perhaps they had some issue with it, and decided to ask 'harder' questions, in attempt to trip her up.

2. perhaps the casefile was scant, or they found something untoward in the casefile. From what I've been reading, if that happens, then the ConOff tries to 'find a way' to deny the visa on interview day - usually with a series of questions SOLELY designed to trip-up the PRC person.

I suggest you go back, soonish, marry, then file an I-130, and front load the heck out of it. My front-loading experience is here -> http://www.visajourn...p;#entry3324240

Good Luck !

You are correct, communication between us must be "easy". The question, my 1994 job title on my prior job, was something we talked about months ago, but my SO had forgotten. My SO answered what my job is now. Point 2, I have read very many posts here at VJ, and CFL, with so much good information of how to prepare the case. I did alot of hours preparing documents, photos, logs, EOR, notarized, cover letters, making the case very easy for the VO to understand at a glance any folder, document, or piece of information. Easy for the Vo, but not easy for my SO. That was my downfall. So, soon back to Chongqing, marry, CR1, front load, read, study, ask help, and practice, practice, practice with my SO.

Well,,,,,No Visa, My fiancee missed a question that, what was my job position on my prior job, in 1994. 20 months of study, prepare documents, talk everyday, travel, shot down in a minute.

Whats up Yall,

I got a question. Has the majority of early may filers recieved the p3? I recieved the NOA2 Sept 1st, and the hard copy from NVC on sept 16th, Im getting a little nervous because my fiancee hasn't the p3 yet, looking at timelines I think she might should have it by now.

We have received both packet 3 and 4. You should have it by now actually. I recommend contacting the embassy and inquiring about it. We had to have packet 3 emailed to us because it took so long to come by mail. Packet 4 came a week and a half after it was mailed.

Thanks, First thing in the morning Im contacting the embassy. I had a feeling she should have recieved the packet by now.

Guangzhou gets a little slow sometimes. I have not received any information since 16 September's NOA 2.

Yeah Ive been hearing how Guangzhou is much slower than other consulates, I guess we could make the best of it and use the time to go through all our paperwork with a fine toothed comb. We'll probably be there about the same time.

I go through my paper work often, and waiting on Guz P3, so I can get get my documents updated and notarized before I send them to my Fiancee. Seems like I often find a date or 1 piece of information to correct or make better. Everyone here and on the CFL website has been a great asset. good.gif
