Lucky March folks interviewing in India please share your interview experience in detail here. Any advise will be appreciated.

My NVC case is finally completed on 2/25/2009 and I hope my wife gets a April interview. Is there any air fare deal going on for New Delhi? It is only less than two months since I came back to USA and now again I have to ask for leave which will difinitely upset my director. Pray for my leave too!

Thanks.

I held my US Passport in my hand to enter US Embassay in New Delhi. To my surprise they did not even bother to check my passport to verify my identity.

I was able to match interview date published by US New Delhi Embassay with VJ members from their reported time stamp.

Many thanks to VJ members for helping me.

My wife interview was very short and the office did not ask to see any thing. Here are the questions they asked my wife:

How did you meet?
What does he do?
Why did you wait over one year to marry him?

The officer called me and asked me the last and final question

why did you marry this charming lady?

I will post in detail about interview experience upon returning to US.

By the way I bought my tickets for $897 round trip from USA and $629 one way from India.

If they are married, I can't think of a reason why he still cannot file the petition with his parent co-sponsoring to meet the financial end. Not sure if I have heard of anyone doing this but can't see any legal reason why he can't.

hi sylvia_n_joseph... i just spoke to my fiancee and the problem with him is he just printed the application form from USCIS (even me get confused w/ him sometimes) i told him that he should have just order it so he gets the right and complete set of application... so he enclosed $190 or so on the application for the processing fee and then he got a letter that it went up to $455... so i dont really know when it did go up... but they should have (USCIS) said in the letter too that we're missing some documents that we shoud have enclosed in the application... anyways, he's going to call tomorrow and hopefully they will give us something... thanks for the reply... goodluck! good.gif

good luck. But a lawyer won't be able to do much.

The first thing they check is the check/money order, they don't even go through the rest of the paperwork until whenever they get around to it, which is when they will send you an RFE for the missing documents. Unfortunately, you are still technically within the "processing times" listed on the uscis.gov website for VSC - April 15, 2008. I don't think it would hurt to contact a congressman/senator and see if they can get involved. A lawyer won't do you any good. Good luck!

I wish VSC would do something and at least explain why their approvals are so irregular. We're happy for every single case here that gets approved. But it would give some peace of mind (and also hope) to those that get bypassed if they at least heard something.

Congrats! kicking.gif

As far as such a quick approval, I have read that sometimes they will pick up a app for training purposes. That may explain some things?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHow do you maintain your Long Distance Relationship?
QUOTE (ABENITEZ @ Jan 31 2009, 12:39 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Ok, so this might be a bit off topic, but are any of you struggling the way we are? Our entire relationship was long distance and it was always a struggle. I thought after we got married n got the papers rollin that things would get better. For like a month after we got married we were doing great but now its back to fighting all the time. It is purely stress from living apart, its not that we dont love eachother or get along, but when ur so far, even if u do trust ur spouse, theres a feeling of insecurity. We probably have at least a year of this and I neeeeed advise???

I know what you mean.
well, sometimes seeing n hearning ur spouse on web came came make you more sad and depress and frustrated.
Coz so closer, yet so far .
write mail and send it by the post at least twice a month to each other.
It may be slower than email but for u n ur spouse could really feel the warmness of much love n feelings.

I dont meant u shouldnt use email, when using email try to write 4-5 times aweek.
it could bring smile n curious n excited her ur spouse to open email everytime log in.

And also Have and find urself for the Hobby of ur own.
find the sports or reading. Coz i know the more u think abt ur spouse, more u will feel down n depressed.

I am going through something similar...
... for me noone is telling me anything... ok so here is my case i got married in Jan 2007 and filed for my I 130 in April 2007 ( i should not have waited 3 mo to file but i thought it would be better ) and I filed I 130 spousal visa CR-1
.... ok so finally my petition is approved from USCIS and NVC by May 2008 and they sent over the case to Bombay (wrong consulate) they reschedule our interview at the right consulate, Delhi. My husband went for his interview in July 2008, after the interview they gave him a 221g AP for more proof such as a family tree, addresses and phone numbers of all relatives, guest list, emails, phone records, voters card ok so we sent them everything to the VFS office with his passport. They sent back his passport with no visa. They said its in Administrative Processing....

its been 7+ months and still no word. I went to my Congressmans office and they gave me the same response. I call DOS and they give me the same response "221g administrative processing, etc"

I went to a lawyer and the lawyer said theres nothing he can do for me.... I cant file for the fiance visa because they will reference this case and it will be the same problem....
I have went to India 3 times and Im going this 4th time for 6 months... the first time i went was for 3 months second time was for 5 months and the third time was for a month and now im going to 6 months.

what else should i do ? im soo sad....
Does anyone know what i should do now besides wait?

I just pray to god he will get me through this... Inshallah

SOmetime AP could take up to a yr.
Sorry but all u can do is wait.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNEED ADVICE!
[

Now the situation is that we originally planned to file I-130 but we realized that one year apart is WAY TOO MUCH!!
So in order to speed up the thing, we've even considered K1 (because I have Canadian passport and I have not yet registered our marriage in Canada).
But will this be considered fraud because technically we were already married? OR
Another way is to go into US with Canadian passport (as tourist) and get married there and try to change my status after our marriage in US.

Between :
1) file I-130,
2) apply for K-1
3) go in as tourist and get married

CAN YOU, please tell me the pros and cons (time frame, risk level, money-wise)?

Either youFile i-130,i-129
u can come visit him/stay with him in La for 3month using ur Canadian passport.during the processing time.
Hassle may be that u just to keep back n forth from canada to us.

But if i were since, i would file I-130. Coz down the road, the truth will always pop up.and u dont wanna have problem with Uscis.

1yr is not that long, considering others who are much farther apart than canada n us.

Okay, we called at a time when everyone else in the US is asleep. AVR said our case was entered into the system on Feb 2, 2009. Said allow 6-8 weeks for beneficiary to get notice.

So does this mean it's been manually entered, or merely scanned? We haven't gotten a DS-3032 yet and there was no operator available when we called. I'll call again later to talk to a human there.

Also, hubby is working on the barcode. Do we input NVC case number or the USCIS case number in "data to encode"? I think it makes sense to use the NVC no. since that's where we're at.

U'll receive DS-3032 within 2weeks.
After u done filling out, He will receive Ds 230 n I-864 only after He pay the fee on line. THat's when
u'll see the BAr code after u print out the receipt paper .

If we go through the embassy they will need a photocopy of both passports to schedule the appointment. We cant get his passport yet cause there has been delay. So i was wondering if theres a way i can send it to America without going through the embassy. It will save alot of time if we can, and I really want to get back to my family so if theres a faster way to do it let me know.

I have just called NVC. My case had been completed on January 7, 2009. The interview had not yet scheduled. The operator told me to call back in couple of weeks to hear the March schedule.

How can you guys went in so quick?

I am happy for you guys. Hopefully, we will get something soon because it is closing to eight weeks.

Call back again friday evening.By that time u shall know whether u will have interview In March or NOt.

The Cutoff dates n waiting to find out the interview date is really agonizing.

QUOTE (HaoRan @ Feb 11 2009, 08:41 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My wife spent 3 years or so in South Africa where she met her prior husband. The marriage was a nightmare but produced a son for my wife. The man was a liar, gambler and alcholic so she left him and went back to China.

That was 7 years ago and she has no idea where he is and really doesn't want to make contact with him if she did.

The question is, since she is not officially divorced, how should she handle this at the interview (we have NOA2)?

SHE WILL GET DENIED. NO way to Handle.

1. She could explain the situation if asked at the interview since she has a son who was born in South Africa.

THAT EXPLAIN WILL NOT WORK.

or

2. She could just say her son was born out of wedlock.

IF USCIS/NVC found out SHe'll BE BANNed for 10YRs.

GET DIVORCE DOCUMENT Then Go from There

Thanks to any suggestions on this question.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresIs it odd to wait more than eight weeks for an interview?
QUOTE (SerenityHope @ Feb 10 2009, 10:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
...and she said it happens all the time. I've done some research and Ghana has some of the longest waits for interviews but then others who have done research say it's odd that I've waited more than a month (these are Ghana filers). The NVC automated line asks you to talk to an operator if it has been more than eight weeks. The operator just gives you the same tired, scripted response that they schedule interviews based on embassy capacity blah blah blah. I suppose I just want to rant. But anywhoo....anyone been waiting more than eight weeks? What steps did you take to get scheduled? Allah be praised if we're scheduled this week, we've been waiting so looong.

yeap , the operator named Ozzy n Sarah said the same tired, scripted response that they schedule interviews

based on embassy capacity blah blah blah n that they schedule 2nd week of each month.

well , hope both us will get the interview date for next month this week.
