Hey Kitty

Congrats on your approval.
I got a quick question. It says that u received call from VSC. Is their a reason they called you, because most people just receive it in mail as far as I k now. And also did you online status has changed?

Thanks

Yess Azer, my husband's country, lebanon, has been having political problems since 2005, when the former Prime Minister Rafik Al Hariri was assasinated. There has been 5+ assasinations since then of political officials in hopes to break the USA backed government of Fouad Siniora, the current prime minister. The country has been without a president since Nov 2006 because the opposition group by the name of hezbollah refuses to accept any terms other than what they demand. The tiny country has been backsliding into difficult times, and civil war is most likely. Last week sectarian fighting erupted quickly the opposition fighters took over all west beirut by force. Most lebanese were prisoners in their own homes unable to even look outside from fear of stray bullets and even worse.. snipers on their rooftops.
This brings me to your question... I thought I'd give VSC another try and plead my case to them... I'd filed for Expedite one month earlier and was denied an hour later! I was lucky this time, when she answered .. I just told her everything.. I was desperate. She listened to me and asked for my information my phone number, she went to talk with her supervisor and when she returned to the phone, she said they've requested my case to be pulled and placed on the floor for adjudication. Since it had been over a month, she recommended I file another expedite making sure that I include pertinent information and proofs of where the problems occured and how this affected my husband, such as risks, fighting, etc. Luckily I'd been working on these to begin sending them out to senator, congressman... etc. So, I wrote up a two page letter outlining every problem, threat and its proof. The next day ... she actually called me (I never thought anyone in USCIS would do that) she said your case was pulled, adjudicated and approved! I thanked her for kind help and for listening to me.. she was very kind.. and said good luck and hope tht my husband can join me soon and I should be receiving the NOA2 by next week. She gave me the website to NVC to start getting familiar with that process. On the web I finally see the date change to todays date, but when I look it up with the case number it still shows pending. Maybe by tomorrow it might change. But tonight I am happy to know that there is still good people that can empathize with someone in a desperate situation as mine.

oh....so they probably aren't on our file box then sad.gif

Yeah thats what i thought too after reading it crying.gif We have to be soon Shrewd, we have to. Congrats again Kitty, its about time they got to you!!!!!!!!

I think I need to stay away from VSC because it is harder to block it all out when you see everyones lives going on past yours (thankfully they are getting approved...sad I am not)

While reading some time lines here I see some receive with in a few days... just curious what other think.

I think even if everyone here tells you their experience it will still not provide any reliable data.
VSC is our own little version of Hell on Earth... welcome.

actually though...I think the NOA1's are coming sooner than they used to. At 10 days I would not be worried.

The more I think about this, more clearer it is. None of us can do anything unless we can hire a high powered lobyist like the corporate america to lobby for serious legal immigration reforms. Vermont is doing this because they can and there is no one to stop them from processing however they want. I am currently addicted and not getting anything done so I am going to stop visiting the site as often. its the only way to keep myself from getting depressed.

I understand Kman. I had to do that at one point too...and probably will have to do it again soon..

I agree. that is one thing I stated in the letter to my senator... "where are the checks and balances?"

they do it because they can and noone cares.

QUOTE (kns123 @ May 23 2008, 04:52 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I too had the same doubt but NOA 1 hard copy clearly states received date as the "actual received date", 17/10/07 in your case. Did you check that in your hard copy?

But better to call USCIS to clear your doubts.

Good luck good.gif

I called VSC and they say that our app. date is October and that they "honor" that date. However, they have repeatedly told my congressman that no formal action can be recognized until 6 months past the NOA1 date. so...while they "recognize" that date it doesnt mean anything, because they are "protected" by that NOA1 date since that is the date they actually BEGAN your petition..when it was "opened an put in the system". They can say that we are october filers..but it doesnt mean anything basically

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNo longer VALID I-129F for VERMONT K3 Petitioners
QUOTE (Marlita @ May 20 2008, 01:41 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I don't really understand this post. If your I130 was approved and you are a CR1 filer how will your case skip the steps of the NVC processing? Thats standard procedure for an immigrant visa. You will have to pay for the immigrant vis which is $400 before you leave NVC so I am confused by your post.

Plus the only people under the rule of having to wait for a certain amount of visas per year are LPR, not USC. USC get priorty and there is no waiting period for a green card for their family, but that doesn't mean that there aren't standard processings you must still go thru. So this is why i am confused. If your petition goes thru NVC in a couple of days and gets forwarded to manilla embassy, then you are not getting an immigrant visa, your getting a non-immigrant visa (K3) and will need to file AOS to become a permanent resident.

when I talked to VSC they told me the same thing once that since I was a USC that we wouldnt have to wait.... I just chalked it up to ignorance.

QUOTE (Cassie @ Apr 25 2008, 08:51 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
If you don't have an RFE, don't call the dang RFE line! There is no 'trick"!!!!

The trick is that if you actually get through to an officer, you get touches on your file the next day which gives you false hopes of something actually happening with your case. Then when you find out it didn't really accomplish anything but waste the officer's time it's YOU who have been tricked! I personally called twice and it really didn't do anything for me, and my case took 8 months to NOA2! The only thing that seemed to work was the congressional inquiry, but perhaps things would have moved on their own at that point. Who knows. That's not an option to anyone these days unless there really is something wrong with your case since they're approving petitions after only 4-5 months now and you aren't supposed to contact the USCIS unless they're beyond the dates on their page or it's been over 180 days. Looking at the statistics chart for IR1/CR1 there are three months worth of summer filers who had waited over 400 days from NOA1 to interview. Things have sped up at USCIS and seem to be continuing on that trend. I know that any amount of time away from your loved ones is painful, but a lot of you don't realize how good you've got it. Poor gogo's petitions still haven't been approved and he filed over a year ago now. Keep the faith. You, too, will make it through USCIS. You just have to wait. If you get an RFE then call the RFE line. If you don't, don't. You'll just be giving yourself false hopes when you see the touch online the next day. It doesn't mean anything more than they went and looked at your case, saw the date and put you back.

at VSC they are not even updating touches..so actually there is no false hope. I think people here just want to know that their case is even THERE and not lost

Its strange that I look more for a post from them saying they are approved than I look at my own case. Following bread crumbs here..........trying to put together this puzzle.

I feel exactly the same way - we're probably all in the same filing box somewhere!

I truly bet we are. I think when one of us gets it we all will.
I wanted it to be this week mad.gif

Every day I come in here I just want to see lots of approvals.. just keep them coming I say. But the sad truth is that when I see jan/Feb filers whizzing by, i get discouraged. This week I've been seeing some cleaning up of those long forgotten filers from july/sept.. im happy for them. It makes me feel better tho i worry for my own petition. Today I came in as always.. lets see who got approved dreading to find that march filers being approved blush.gif ... and I came accross your posts. Yes, i feel a bond with certain of us still in wait.. and I too looked to hyd, to jay80 and to lsma, shrewdie, to delicia, to 00 tho i think ur nick was different b4, Ms Z and many others... for approvals. I figured we'd go in a group one by one single file laughing.gif but that has not been the case. Tho i am happy for those that have moved on!! So when i read your posts today.. i got a warm a fuzzy feeling that we are not only caring about our own petitions, but trully wish that our group here gets approved too.
It was such a nice feeling... thanks guys luv.gif luv.gif My prayers are always for us, we gotta stay strong thru this.. USCIS can't take that from us.. no way!! mad.gif

My name before was Jason&Danielle, but i messed up in editing my profile and you can only change you name 1 time per year mad.gif so now Im stuck with 000, I guess I could send a message to the admins unsure.gif

Irrespective of your name we are all on same boat .going through..this lousy process.by the way your current name is OOO or 000 unsure.gif unsure.gif who gave that name to you??

May be you can start new profile but your service center won't change ....lol

I thought about I-129F but I dont think it will help...if I thought it wouldnt HURT then I would do it..but they would do something psycho like give you a date right NOW and then just add to the chaos

QUOTE ( @ May 14 2008, 02:15 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My real plan was to go to Brazil until they apporved us if we havent heard anything by the time I come back from Brazil in June. I had worked off my credit card debt and am now in the process of looking for jobs there that are available to people who are not fluent in portuguese. Limited as they may be they are there. Now I have a bit more money to pay off because the other day after another frustrating call with USCIS I became "that guy", you all know what I mean, the guy that is so pissed off he drives like he has some sort of mental problem, the one that flies past you and you say "I hope he gets stopped by the police or wrecks his car". Well I bet a few of those people wished they wished for a million dollars after they saw that I wrecked. So now I have to pay off the repair bill on my car ( I had a DUI in 2005 so my insurance is high enough) and my airfare for Brazil. Thats it. I have found someone that I trust to rent my house, make sure my car still starts every few months, only working on what to do with my dogs, do I take them or ask a family member to care for them. Lord only knows how long I will be gone. I am worried about leaving my job because things are difficult for everyone in America now and when I come back will I be able to get back on my feet in a manner that can support both of us. The I 864 I am not worried about because I have a family member who is willing to take care of that for me but I am worried about really supporting us if I cant find a job fast enough.

I would move to JA...but a little thing called STUDENT loans that I wouldnt even make enough to pay..more less RENT and FOOD.

I was looking for our thread and we were on page TEN.
Not a good feeling guys. We cannot give up. WE CANT.
I know so many of us are mad. Mad that our very own government doesnt care about us. MAd that we have no control. Mad that we are allowing this process to cause us to lose hope. Mad that we arent getting approved.
I know we are hurting. Hurting because we wake up each day alone. Hurting because we cant even be joyful for those that are approved. Hurting because our marriages are starting to suffer from the separation and stress.
I know we just want to crawl in the fetal position and give up. but we cant. WE CANNOT GIVE UP.
"When you feel like giving up...remember what kept you holding on so long in the first place".
There are times when I wonder if my marriage is even going to make it. Because we aren't strong enough? absolutely not. Because we dont love each other enough? Absolutely enough.
Because we are stuck in the middle of a Hell that neither can explain to the other? I think so.

I am praying for you all. I hope you are praying for me too.
I know we all have different beliefs but at this moment, I cry out the great God Almighty. I pray that he hear the cries of His people and that He give us the desires of our hearts. I pray FAVOR and SPEED with those of us stuck in this Hell. I pray new determination in our marriages. I pray that we wake with a new hope and a new love.

No news here... still waiting along. Hey Shrewdy, I was also thinking of that. Everytime we call USCIS we get quoted the January date!! What is up with that? Comeon.. the actual date of filing is listed on the NOA1 also.. Are they kiddin'? headbonk.gif

when I talked to VSC they said they were honoring the oct. date, but then my congress office said they told them january...
so now that I have TWO NOA1 dates this could REALLY mess me up??
what the #######. I am too stressed over this mess.
This is really rediculous.

we have to be close (I say that everytime)..but eventually it will be true

shrewdgal and kitty, can i know your month and year of marriage?

june 2007

i heard someone say that they think that the VSC is going by NOA1 dates (which I think to be accurate) BUT you know how they sent me one again in April incase I had "misplaced mine" and it has an April date...
what do you think?
that has me stressed now...

That is so weird Shrewdie. Well at least you know your application is there and without an RFE. Have you not had any touches lately? I woulda thought that new NOA1 woulda generated a touch.

nope. weird..
thats what I told someone else that swears that when you call the RFE line or whatever you get a touch and I was like..um.. no
I dont even think VSC DOES touches.

That's right Shrewdie, we have to be NEXT mad.gif CSC is way ahead on i-130's, VSC is just screwed up pulling from wherever.. USCIS is not going to change the timelines until they are sure they've cleared every july filer... I bet they were getting into trouble from all sorts cuz ppl were still not getting adjudicated and USCIS's timelines were reflecting dates past those filers. So, to cover their behind.. they just decided to keep the timelines in july and avoid all the hassle from senators.. congressmen, lawyers, etc... and also from us.. they can and still quote the timelines to get us off their back! mad.gif
Im still praying for all of us... tho Im starting to hate to look at the online for my case crying.gif

I know. I hate chedking my email because it is always a disappointment. EVeryday this process is destroying the life I used to have. ya know?

ok guys..get this
remember how I told you that they acted like I might have a RFE and then we decided that was just an automated message?
Well, I get a letter today saying that I dont have an RFE and I was never sent one b/c there isnt one showing up and that my case is still within processing times and they are processing cases up to july 30 and that all I have in my case is my receipt and since I might have "misplaced" it they issued me another one.
so. now I have two NOA1.
it still has my october filing date but now the new receipt is for April 18.
same receipt number.
weird.
so..they have time to do all that but no time to approve me? sad.gif
so sad.
anyone else have something weird like this happen?

does anyone know the link to the page on the uscis website that says they will process cases in the order received?
I am going to fax the copy of my receipt (with the received date highlighted) and a copy of that document..
we talked about it before but now i cant find it
does anyone remember this conversation??

Hey, let us know how it turns out. Our timelines are pretty close to each other. VSC received ours on 11/21/07, sent out NOA1 dated 01/25/08, and I see people who filed after us who have received their NOA2 which I do not think is fair.

no, it isnt fair. We all that are getting left behind have very very heavy burdens to carry. sad.gif. hopefully it will all pay off soon.

I can tell you Im on day 156 and I'm not liking it mad.gif And i'm not sure why i have the opening from day of our lives running through my head "like sand in the hourglass......these are the days of our lives". I have decided to just take some time off from things and just try to relax, its getting wamer out so I think i will start to come out of hibernation, clean the yard a bit, refinish my back porch, and figure out when I want to put down some hardwood flooring. And to help me sleep at night some congac and good ol Dominican cigar. My wife just got a job after seeking for months after she relocated to another state so I will have a bit more free time away from MSN. Im putting it in gods hands and doing my best to forget about it as much as possible. cool.gif

me too Jason. Its crazy. Its really driving me nuts..did you see that a dec. filer was approved today...

I am confused by your statements. I do not have an October date on my NOA-1, anywhere. I have January 24, 2008 listed as my receipt date and the date the NOA-1 was issued was February 13, 2008. There is no record that I filed in October, other than my USPS confirmation which states that CSC received my petition on October 29. I think my petition is sitting in with the January 2008 filers collecting dust.

oh. well mine..and I know hyde.. our NOA1 state that they were received in October...strange
