I don't think it's going to take 9 months. I think very few extreme cases take that long. If you look at the timelines here, it is taking an average of 5-6 months and that was due to the influx of applications last year.

If you look on the website, they are currently at 6 months but a lot of people get approved before that. Don't be discouraged, you may be one of the ones that gets approved in less time.

I'm a member of another forum also and there is a girl who got approved in 4 months!! So it possible.

If you look, many of us in Sept., Oct., Nov. have taken about 6 months already and we dont even have NOA2

Although I am K3 filer from CSC but I think all of our cases will be on hold until the backlog of transferred cases from VSC get cleared. Atleast seeing you guys get approved will give us hope of us getting the line shorter.

Hey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah she is here, been here since August 27th. I dont understand whats up with my PM status, I can pm people but they cant PM me, I sent a message to a Mod asking who i need to contact about it but they never got back with me. I see your almost done and you will be with your husbnd soon, NVC feels so much better than USCIS, despite the few times the AVR system has not been up to date for some people for the most part it is up to date. You are heading to the embassy soon thank god, VSC really needs to get their act together. It looks like the information you guys have been using is for the most part pretty good, glad they got at least one of the India terms labeled as such now.

I lurk around on here still, in the off topic forum for the most part. For the time being it looks like there is good support group for the CR1/IR1 forum so I dont give out much info there anymore. Are you excited about almost being done? Have plans on what your going to do when he gets here? You going there for the interview? It has been difficult trying to get everything here done, Bank account, drivers permit, and other small things. I got her a job until her english picks up enough for her to take the TOEFL and start doing what she went to school for. She still doesnt work much though, which is ok because I prefer her to stay home and study anyway until she can get a job she likes. So what are your plans?

welll....currently it is taking 6 months to get an interview from Jamaica...so..more waiting for me!! that is no fun and I am praying that it speeds up quickly!!!
We dont really know what the plans are when he gets here. Hopefully he will get a job quickly and then maybe after he has been here awhile and can adjust we will think about school!! We are both more than ready and our friends are more than ready. We are all just waiting for him!
I plan on going to the interview if at all possible then flying back down to say our goodbyes and come home together! nuts!!!

ok Shrewdgal emailed and called both senators one of which already has my signed waiver cause it took so long for the approval of change of consulates and everything was on hold until they approved that for 20 days.... yeah to move consulates 20 days??? isn't that like just someone else's desk or soemthing??? also it took 3 weeks for them to get our case from Uscis to nvc so 41 days of nothing then top this "final review" stuff on it.... this down time is horrible..

I hope just one of the aids calls for me... and it gets done once and for all!!!

I figure that haing the stamps in the passport is more evidence than the ticket stubs anyway?

I decided to take the 2 service center sheets and sort them by NOA1 date. I had a feeling that VSC was processing based on NOA1 date, but that theory doesn't stand supported. VSC is just approving them randomly, best I can figure. CSC, although slower than VSC, at least seems to have some kind of method to their madness.

We were married in June 2007..so last year we applied for an ITIN and did a joint return. My husband made like 1,000 U.S. dollars so he was below the cut off for having to claim his income. ok... my questions

1) Can i reuse the ITIN for this year's return? I am assuming I can.

2) When I tried to file online there was a question "are you both resident of the U.S." Now, I understand that he does not live here BUT being married and filing for a joint return is that the alien spouse is allowed to be considered a resident for tax filing purposes....so do I say YES we both live here?

3) Then when it got to the part about not receiving the stimulus.. it tried to credit that to me and Im not sure that is okay...

so... what do I do??????

I dont want to lie..which is why I asked..but according to the above publication .. saying he was a resident would NOT be a lie
