But back to the main point:  You're truly fortunate to be able to hold back and do what you can do, si man.  As wrenching as it might now be, I urge you in the strongest possible terms to delay your gratification.

 

Doing so now could save months of delay and emotional agony later.  Trust me.  Having been through what I went through, I'd give anything to be able to go back and do it over correctly -- as you now have the opportunity to do.

Erica, I'd certainly wait to file until after your visit.  This is a golden opportunity to accumulate (further, solid) evidence of bona fide relationship and to front-load your petition package judiciously so that the consul has his/her mind made up in your favor before the actual interview occurs.  You're very fortunate to be in this position!

Update: interview went well. They asked for my tax return which i need to send and one other paper that my fiance didn't get done in time. CO said he would get visa next day after bringing those. He asked a few questions about my life and family but didn't ask for photos or any additional relationship evidence. I did provide pictures with my fiance's family and i had 4 trips there to visit so I guess that was enough. good luck

Check out my timeline and you can see exactly. also fill in yours once you start the petition. It was 4 months to get uscis approval (mailed it in end of december and received approval may tenth). from there to nvc to embassy. the embassy contacting us was slow, you have to contact them to get them working. we received packet 3 from embassy in june and sent the papers they wanted, then received interview date about a week later. overall from december 28th mailing to July 11th interview date. 

 

WOW. not bad at all.

**also, i did send my fiance call logs etc so he has them in case they ask at the embassy but I didn't include them in the uscis petition. seems like the embassy only asks a few short questions and maybe to see a few more photos. send extra proof to him just in case after you get approved by uscis. uscis only wants proof of meeting (in the form of boarding passes and passport stamps

actually you do NOT need a lot of evidence. and tunisia does not have mandatory ap. I just had 7 or 8 photos, itineraries, and PaSSPORT STaMPS (those are very important to prove meeting in person ) Tunis is a fairly easy embassy as long as you don't have any red flags. we have our interview tomorrow in tunis for fiance visa so I'll let you know if they asked for anything more than what was sent with petition. good luck

I sent calls logs from skype, about 15 photos from different visits and receipts for our engagement ring, flowers I sent her (With her address and my name) and I had no issues! Good luck.

oh yes then you will want a lot of evidence .. remember your daily chats for years aren't necessary but samplings of them over time.

lots of pictures with dates the list goes on and on.. check the guidelines on vj .. come back with your list of stuff for a check in

a detailed statement of your relationship timeline.. meetings etc

contact any other members from the same consulate to see how their packages/interviews went

How much is all dependent on your embassy. Some of us going through tough embassies so you see we provide everything and the kitchen sink.

 

Best thing to do is look at your countries forum read the interview reviews ask around your forum ad see what others are doing.

 

But a log of communications is not bad for anyone. No not every thing but a few pages showing  this and that and all the other evidence we use.

 

Since you don't have your countries flag up i don't know but Africa, the MENA's Pakistan , Asian countries all are High fraud and tough embassies and lost of good evidence is needed.

 

What may be too much for UK or Canada is just right for a MENA or Nigeria. It;s very common for these embassies to get 10 to 30 lbs of evidence from one couple.

Hello!

 

I was trying to gather information for "proof of ongoing relationship." After reading this forum I see that a lot of people print out things from skype, fb, and viber for proof of ongoing relationship. However it seems like too much to me! Me and my fiance talk everyday, all the time! And not just on skype. We go back and forth from viber, fb, and skype! Also, I use my ipod touch to skype with him, and the screen is too tiny for screen shots and it takes WAY WAY longer to scroll up to previous conversations then on the computer....my mom and his family sees us skype everyday. I don't know if a personal statement from them would help?!?!

 

Any advice on how to provide "easier" and/or a less condenced form of "proof of ongoing relationship"??

 

Also,

I am going to visit him for a month in September and will be providing a copy of my flight itinerary, is this proof as well?

I would just leave it completely blank if it's n/a or none. That is what the new instructions tell you to do. I don't think they can have any problems with it when you're just following the instructions.

In the previous form, the instructions said not to leave anything blank, but to put n/a or none, so that is what people did.

We willalso be using the new I-129F form. I am actually done filling it up and printing it. What I have done was I put None or N/A just on the first item but leave other items pertaining to the same question blank. I have read one who did the same thing and another one who placed None or N/A to all questions where his answer is just that. They said they didn't have any problem so far.

Hey everybody!

 

Sooooo I just noticed there is a new form i-129f AND the instructions are totally different. huh2.gif

For example before you couldn't leave anything blank! Now the instructions say to

"Answer all questions fully and accurately. If an item is not applicable or the answer is ?none,? leave the space blank."

 

Now I'm nervous all over again. unsure.png

I scanned everything, emailed it to my husband and he printed it all out there in Tunisia.  Getting any mail there has become horrible.  Nothing we have sent to his mother in Tunisia has ever been received by her in the past 2 years.  If there is something you absolutely have to send by mail it is definitely best to send it Fedex or DHL even though it costs a fortune.

I sent a package to my fiance via the usps and he got it... no problems.

 

I understand why you wouldn't want to send copies of forms though, with all your personal information on them! I didn't think about that! What about the 1-134 form. Don't you need an original signature? and not a photocopied signature?

For starters:

* I will need to have a co sponsor and I'm aware of that!

* I am anticipating my fiance to have his interview sometime in January - February.

 

With that being said:

 

I need to fill out the I-134 form as well.

 

Currently I am a Substitute teacher, but I am not required to work, and work is not promised. So, I do not work often.

I just got a job at the USPS which is also not considered full time or permanent (work is not promised)

.....The post master DID say that if he likes me I will get 37 hours/week.

 

Anyways,

1.) I will only be able to gather a months worth of pay stubs for the USPS

2.) The USPS is not listed on my I-129F form (obviously, because I just got hired there!)....not sure if that will cause problems.

 

 

Basically,

I want to know if I should put substitute teaching as my job or the USPS (post office) when I file form I-134???

 

AND

 

Will I have any problems with my lack of income / working even though I WILL have a co sponsor who meets the poverty guidelines??

Since you are short on time, I would scan your signed letter of intent to your fiance and he can print it. 

I hear signatures SHOULD be orginal and NOT scanned.

However, I did this and got away with it. *Plus you do not have enough time to mail it to him anyways.

Yes, I would get there early. 

Find out when they open and make sure he gets there on time or earlier! 

 

Also,

1.) make sure you copy every page of the passport. 

2.) and organize organize organize - Gather your BEST evidence and put them FIRST.

You have a lot of evidence that shows proof of ongoing relationship...but not proof of meeting..

I think thats what they want... more evidence of you two meeting within the last 2 years.

 

 

Do you have any reciepts or pictures with dates on them? That would be helpful I think, along with your passport stamps.

I need some info on them needing more evidence we submited lots of of evidence no one has responded to my messages.....just need some help

 

I did some research and found a previous message you posted. 

 

I noticed that you didn't provide a passport.  PASSPORT STAMPS show that you visited your fiance in his/her country OR perhaps you both met eachother in another country. Use this with reciepts and pictures to solidify your proof. 

 

For example I sent them a copy of ALL passport pages with passport stamps and 

 sent them a reciept from a restaurant me and my fiance went to in his country WITH a picture of me and him in the restaurant

(I was holding the menu which had the restaurants name on it!) I also sent a picture of me and fiance in front of a pirate ship and the reciept (the reciept and picture had the ships name on it and the date!)

 

 

 

 

THIS MAY BE HELPFUL:

 

 

" Proof of having met in the past two years:

1. Copies of all airline boarding passes, train passes, itineraries, hotel receipts, passport stamps (make sure you can read the dates on the stamps), and other documentary evidence that you have met within the last two years. You may want to highlight or place post-it notes indicating the dates and locations on the copies (to make the adjudication easier) for the person reviewing your file.

 

2. Color Photo's of you and your fiance(e) together. Make sure you write your names, date, and location on the back of every photo. Provide two to five photo's. If you only have a single copy of the photo, then make a color copy and send that. If it is a digital photo, have it printed at a local photo store such as Walgreens (if at all possible) or if not on a high quality printer. Place photo's in a plastic bag or photo sheet and label the sheet. Note that you may not receive originals of photo's back.

 

3. The following items will not typically show proof of having met in the last two years however will show proof of an ongoing relationship: Copies of land line and cell phone bills, appropriate letters and emails, stamps on the letters (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!) "
