News : BN010809 : Her husband got Pink after submited documents again on Nov 25,2009. They will fly to us on Dec 6, 2009. Congrat to both you.

Hello everyone!
I had an interview in Nov 24, 2009 and got Blue sheet with the same as BN010809. I really want to know how can get PINK like BN010809 did in the second appointement?

My husband will come to VietNam to support me. Could you help to give me some advices:
- Will my husband need to visit CO before the second appointement?
- Will my husband need to submit all documents before the second appointement?
- Will my husband need to write an email to them in advance?

To BN010809 : Congratulations. Could you share some information that help you to get PINK ? Thank you.

Thank you all and appricated your help.

Asia: East and PacificWE GOT PINK
QUOTE (wratran @ Dec 3 2009, 04:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
our case was straight forward too. We had our pink a few weeks ago.

I think being single and no kids for both sides is pretty simple case. And not being introduced by relatives is another plus.

My case is the same as yours. Being single and no kids for both sides. I'm 33 and my fiance is 44. My classmate and his friend (they work in the same company) introduced us. But i got the blue sad.gif
Congrats to you all, who got PINK in the first interview and i wish to be lucky even a little late

Does anyone know how to write the relationship letter? I mean the structure, write to whom, list the dates from the begining of the relation till now or like to write a story ...

Asia: East and Pacifichow to take web cam photo

Someone in this forum a while back said that they took hundreds of webcam shots and made a college for the interview I can not figure out how to do this Please help

Thanks

Hi woodgc,

Not all webcams have program of taking pic. Some do, and some don’t. So it’s always better for you before buying webcam, just ask the seller if the cam you are going to buy can shoot pic. If your cam has that program, then, it’s not hard for you to take pic. My cam is logitech one, and it has so many functions included such as it can take pic and record as well. That’s good, right? After following some steps to finish webcam installation, it will show up three folders: Logical QuickCam which you can shoot picture or making your record there, My Logitech Picture which you can store your pics or records, and finally Logitech Print Service that you can connect your computer with Printer then print all your pics. My advise for you is to buy logitech one, just like mine and your problem will be solved :)

Asia: East and PacificEnagement Ceremony or not? (Vietnam)
This thread is old enough to make all of you feel bored or ignore it, and i don’t know whether my reply for helping you guys to differentiate between engagement party and wedding ceremony is useful or not, but still wanna give you guys some ideas about that.

For the ones who decide to share life together, before annoucing their wedding party, they must have engagement party which is always taken place in woman’s side. It could be a small get-together of both families that families of two sides have a chance to talk to each others in person, and that is an apportunity which man’s parents will propose the girl to be his soon to be wife for their son and together discuss their children’s upcoming wedding. Actually this is just formal, because they both know that there will have no refusal in this day, they all know 100% sure girl’s family will accept (just because those both families agree to let their children come together before engagement party happened). Long time ago, engagement party is a must, and it is a very simple but warm party. Frankly speaking, engagement ceremony is a foretoken to all people of both sides that wedding will be happened very soon.

In engagement party, we don’t need to invite all guests, just some important persons of two sides only. In the old days, this party is very simple, man’s side just take few things with them only when seeing woman’s family such as: an earring, a basket which contains a bunch of areca-nut and leaves of betel, a basket of candies or cookies.

Nowadays, in order to reduce some complicated proceduces, so many couples live in Vietnam try to simplify as much as possible, some just make their wedding ceremony happen without needing engagement party. But there are some people still do their engagement ceremony simply or more famous depend on how big their budget is.

Wedding ceremory is different, it is often celebrated bigger, in a very solemn and beautiful place, and that party will be full of people, of both sides, your both families, relatives, friends and neighbors. And it is time to announce every body that you guys are now husband and wife officially.

For those couples, one is living in oversea and other is living in Vietnam, an wise advise for you all is you should hold engagement party here and take a lot of pic of you guys together with your relatives in order to show those things as proof in US consulate. If you just want to make an simple engagement party, it’s okay too, you just make one or two tables of food where parents of two sides (if the couple are full Viet) or one or two food tables for woman’s side only with the present of main man in the party if one is Caucasian.

VietnamRegister Marriage in VN AFTER Green Card
This information is not applied for people who are already married in the US.
Here is the instruction of what you will have to do for registering your marriage in Vietnam, at Department of Justice office in Ho Chi Minh city for example. Sorry I can't find any other version in English, so ask your wife to help you translate it.

Procedure of marriage registration in Vietnam for K1 cases is like you make a note for the government to know you've already married to a Vietnamese at another country. It's much simpler than applying for Vietnam marriage certificate. Here are some important steps to remember:

1. Contact Vietnam Embassy or Consulate in the US about validating your marriage certificate, I'm not sure if you have to translate it to Vietnamese before or at the Embassy so you'll need to find out.

2. Bring the validated and translated marriage certificate to Vietnam.

3. Fill the Marriage registration form as in sample on the website I showed you.

4. Your wife will need to go to Department of Justice office where she lived, apply all the above papers, including photocopy of her ID or passport, household registration book...

Then the process will be completed in 5 days. And sure, once you both are legally married in Vietnam, you can definitely obtain a 5 year visa waiver to stay in Vietnam 3 months each enter.

About owning property through your wife, yes, that's true. But for real estates in Vietnam, so far I know you'll be only able to own 1 apartment with a condition that you're living in Vietnam and approved to live in Vietnam more than 1 year.

Hope this helps. Correct me if I'm wrong because I'll do the same for myself as well. Good luck!

VietnamAnyone from Vietnam who received your GC recently.
I just got my EAD with country of birth is North Vietnam as well and pretty sure GC will be the same. Other VJ members used to talk about this problem. Search the topic Green Card says "North Vietnam", but...

I don't like it either. I'm from the South, not the North, and I feel like Vietnam got divided again. But well, if it doesn't cause any trouble, I'll just go with it.

VietnamAddress Change For K-1 Visa
There might be something wrong with your wife's informations which DHS put on their system when she arrived. In my case, they put a wrong date of birth, so the SS office in Guam couldn't verify my status after making me wait 2 months and my I-94 expired, there was no explaination for me. When I had EAD in hand, I moved to mainland, applied SSN again and still met the same problem, they just simply said my DOB didn't look right, but this time they made it through and I got SSN after another month waiting. I thought the problem was solved there, but when I applied Learner Driving Permit, it showed clearly on their system that I had a different DOB, luckily the gentleman at DMV helped me send a complaint email and proofs to DHS to make them fix that mistake, and everything has gone well so far.

Back to your case, I don't think you can easily extend your wife's I-94 for SSN reason. Maybe you can ask SSA the reason why they couldn't verify your wife's status, if it is about incorrect information, you'll need to contact DHS. When your wife has her EAD, you can apply SSN for her again. I know it's a painful process, I felt guilty to my husband for wasting his time and money again and again, but he always says "it's worth it!". Good luck to you!

Hi all, thanks for the reply's. SanAn...you said if I already submitted the blue slip on Nov. 13, your wife can print the scan . Yes I gave them the blue slip on Nov. 13, so how can she print the scan once it has been given to the consulate? Also, when they said "go home and wait for them to send a letter", we went back to Hue where she lives, which is about 400 miles from HCMC. She has only been given 1 blue slip on November 9, and from what I've read...most people in AP have been given 2 blue's.

Hi Anh bob,
No, just one blue slip for one case.
Learning from some cases that they scan the blue slip and use for the second time.
At the appointment date as the blue slip mentioned, your wife can go to the embassy to ask the result again. Or if not, your wife will wait the call or email from them. I think that they will send email to your wife today or tomorrow.
Hope to hear good news from you.
Wish all the best.

My wife went for her interview in HCMC November 9. After the interview, she received a blue slip asking for 4 things. 1). additional proof of a bona fide relationship. 2). timeline from me. 3). information about my ex-wife address and place of birth. 4). additional proof about my wife's children (school records, old photo's). On the blue slip, it gave a date of December 7,2009 to submit the additional information, but it also said you can bring the information to the embassy any day between 1-2 pm. On November 13, I went to the embassy and gave them all the papers they requested. After giving the papers, the woman said "go home and wait for them to send a letter". I asked the woman if she knew how long before they would send the letter and she didn't know. Well its been over 3 weeks and no letter as of yet. Anyone know how long before they will send the letter? Thank you.

Hi Anh bob,
Tomorrow, 7th Dec, your wife can bring the blue slip to the next appointment. If you already submitted it on 13 Nov, your wife can print the scan and go to the embassy as schedule. They will give you an answer.
Good luck and hope your wife will get PINK tomorrow
